Did I read that right?

I can't have read that right...

llama, play Avernum 2. Please. The thing you played is not quite Avernum.

EDIT: Yes, I was addressing them separately.

Specifically, hug the north cave wall when you get out of Bargha, and you can't miss the tunnel. Or rather, hole in the ground.

Of course, who would want to miss the GIFTSs?

Which scenario to play? in Blades of Avernum

For immersion, play Mad Ambition.

For a long, balanced scenario, play Magus of Cattalon.

For a long, detailed, interesting hackfest, play Bahssikhava.

For a long, boring hackfest, play Nephilim Mystery.

For the scenario equivalent of beating a sledgehammer against your head, play Undead Valley.

For a story and pretty landscapes, play Druids of Krell.

For something like A3, play Backwater Calls.

For broken weapons, spells, and enemies, play Canopy.

For no apparent reason, play Nine Variations on Point B.

I'd prefer BoA/AT graphics, personally. But even if Jeff can solicit the community for graphics (like the whole chitrach fiasco), A4-ish graphics might be tolerable.

No, that's not too bad. I mean, the Ghostly Blade gives a 6% Hostile Effect Resistance, so it's really useful anywhere.

I have version 1.02b5, the most recent one from the SourceForge site. I can't find anything newer.

(Side note: It'd be helpful if a mod would put a link to the BoA Utilities page in the forum header somewhere.)

Well, it's technically not running on the iPod. Using the iPod as an external hard disk, one can keep BoA, the editors, ResEdit, whatever one needs close at hand. However, one must also keep the preference files on the disk as well, to be inserted wherever necessary on the host computer (to avoid legal complications, I remove them whenever I'm done working).

(Side note: using "one" is way more fun than using "you".)

Earth Day (belated) in General

Earth Day was this previous Sunday, for those of you who were unaware (or for those who don't celebrate it). And it got me thinking, why haven't we had an environmental thread in General?

We've covered religion many times, politics in general has been kicked around quite a bit, so why not the environment?

The topic at hand, then, is this: Do we have a problem? Will it resolve itself, can we fix it, and who/what is to blame?

(I would've posted this on Saturday, but time has not been my friend for the past few days)

I hate undead, and I have crickets. Every problem is caused by undead, and every solution can incorporate crickets for those awkward pauses.

I whine about BoE oldbies, and am under the mistaken impression that I'm an oldbie on the boards. I have to constantly defend my BoA work because it's clearly inferior to others' work.

EDIT: Oh, I forgot. I resist bandwagons, and I constantly edit posts a minute after they're created because I forgot something.

I rant at length about things that nobody cares about, like this post.

I'm not completely sure about this, but I think the Shockwave Bow was a reward for one of the Fort Saffron quests.

EDIT: Okay, I thought it was either that or the Bow of Decay. It appears that I guessed wrong.

As for the Frozen Blade, I can't remember.

Update.

In spite of my dead laptop, I've succeeded in running BoA and the Editor from my iPod on a lab computer. Thus, work on Embers of Rebellion has begun again, and I've found myself retooling an entire town. And I seriously need to fix a wall set... white noise everywhere!

Beta estimate: maybe sometime in May...

Alright... rather impressive error with the 3D Editor. Everything loads fine, I can edit terrain just fine.

But for some reason, whenever I close a window (such as the Town Details window), the editor crashes. Very repeatable, very inexplicable.

I'm working on a Mac, running OS 10.4.5. And this is fairly low-priority, since the regular editor still works. And this computer isn't even mine, since mine is under repair currently (I'm running BoA, the Editor, and the 3D Editor from my iPod in hard disk mode).

I can't find anything in the docs about any sort of limit.

And a bank that can round off 499 gold? Sounds like a ripoff to me...
