The unofficial ruling on this is that you can talk about editing your save files if you want, but if you get anywhere near registration stuff, insta-ban. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. You, sir, are a magic man. A quick perusal shows that everything works spectacularly. I will continue to investigate to find bugs, but all is good so far. One other minor thing: IIRC, the game's window is ever-so-slightly larger than the editor's window, which can be a little weird when you're trying to see what the party will be able to see at any given time. It would be nice if they matched exactly. That seems like it might be hard to do, though. Send it my way and I'll look at it. tomwatts (at) berkeley (dot) edu By the way, it'd be sorta nice (although not by any means crucial) if there were a command similar to Reload Scenario Script that also reloaded the graphics. Currently the only way to get a scenario completely reloaded from the ground up is to re-open it from the File menu. This is mildly annoying, though not at all a big deal. Although I'm not the target of the question, in my total ignorance of virtually all biology, I can't say that I even know what the advantages or disadvantages would be. The relevant Wikipedia page (UBB apparently won't let me link directly to it?) doesn't seem to have anything on pros and cons, either, although it has reference to a particularly odd behavior in some animals. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. I do what Diki does. On another subject, how many of you actually look through the threads manually, and how many of you use Today's Active Topics? I use the latter. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls! Hmm. I accept that. I'd be interested to see what happens if you download the current Sourceforge build, though; if it does display properly on your computer and not on mine, then something weird is going on. Otherwise, your explanation must be right. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls! quote:No... it doesn't. I'm using the Mac version of the 3D Editor v1.02 b6, the current version on Sourceforge, and (for example) the vahnatai floor (floor 100) in Exodus has a fl_ed_icon_adjust on it that does not display in the editor in 2D mode but does display on the automap in the game. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. What is your favorite food? My mom's beef stroganoff: eggshell pasta, sour cream, beef, and beef bouillon powder (not cubes). What is your most hated food? Most seafood, really. I can stand basic fish types, but little else. Is there any circumstance under which you would eat your most hated food? If I were at some sort of formal dinner and had to, maybe. What is your favorite beverage? I really like smoothies and shakes, but I'm not sure that counts. Otherwise, Sierra Mist, orange juice, or milk, depending on what I'm eating. What do you normally cook spur of the moment? Meatless spaghetti with Ragu sauce. Easy, good. Are you a vegetarian? No. But I don't eat a lot of meat, because it requires more than simply boiling water. What is your favorite dessert food? Basic flavors of ice cream (vanilla, strawberry, chocolate) and most forms of chocolate. Favorite is probably a Ghirardelli hot fudge sundae (god I love San Francisco sometimes). What is your favorite type of chocolate? Plain, unadulterated dark chocolate, preferably Ghirardelli's. See's is also good, in a slightly different way. Favorite pizza topping(s)? Deep-dish plain cheese is my pizza. (w00t Zachary's!) Favorite breakfast? Cheerios! Preferably with bananas and strawberries, either dried or fresh. Least favorite breakfast? Oatmeal. Favorite protein food? A big, fat, double-cheeseburger with bacon. Favorite fruit? The orange. Favorite vegetable? Er, lettuce? Favorite popcorn topping? Small amounts of butter and salt. People who make sweet popcorn are just weird. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. I've now gotten seven PMs or e-mails about this. Please stop. After replying to the first few, I have decided that I won't reply to (or even read) the rest. I didn't post a long tirade about this because I didn't want it to be interpreted as a long tirade. Quit bugging me. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls! quote:This seems like a bad idea. I want the editor to reflect the game as closely as possible, and using normal icon_adjust doesn't affect the 2D automap. If corescendata doesn't use ed_icon_adjust, that's a bug in corescendata, not a bug in the editor. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. The list of contest winners has been updated. Comments about how well-received my scenarios have been and how much people like them would seem more sincere if my scenarios had actually been well-received and if people actually liked them. I'd very much appreciate it if no one made another post like Slarty's, Fatman's, or Salmon's. If you have something to say, say it by e-mail or PM. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Also, don't use your skill points, and no equipment. :P As I recall, I beat GF1 and GF2 (the first time) without using any magic, because I didn't really understand the game mechanics. It was just me and my pair of fyorae, who never died and never got re-absorbed. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. He means an editor-town, which is not an ambiguous term. One could argue that Zaskiva is just one town in ASR, even though it is two editor-towns. "Zone," on the other hand, normally refers to a category that includes both outdoor sections and towns, which probably makes it far worse to use in this context. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. He was saying that it's not exact, which is obvious. On the SAT, for the purposes of most calculations, the square root of two can be 1.4, and on the MCAT, it can be 1.5 (or more frequently "a little more than 1").
