It is a bug, but one that I've never been able to isolate. I've only reproduced it by accident once or twice.

Eh, this is one other thing that I will take a look at while I'm fixing things up for v.1.0.1 (which will happen whenever my computer gets fixed).

I was under the impression that Japan doesn't have nearly the same distribution-of-wealth issues that, say, the U.S. does. Then again, neither does anybody else. But I thought that they weren't bad in that department. Anyone happen to have statistics handy (or the free time to find them)?

Isn't 'itur' just the third person singular present passive of eo? One of the few remaining fragments of my own classical education is this very quotation, which my high school Latin text had at the head of its chapter on the impersonal passive construction. So 'sic itur ad astra', literally 'thus it is gone to the stars', is the Latin way of saying 'thus does one go to the stars'. So normally there is not much call to use the passive voice of 'go', but for an impersonal passive like this evidently Vergil at least could get away with it.
This was my first thought, but it is extremely weird to use the passive of an intransitive verb. "It is gone" is something else ("It has gone" = "ivit" or "iit", as I recall), unless you're trying to say "It is gone by someone," in which case you'd be saying "Someone goes it," which doesn't really make any sense.

My grammars note that transitive compounds of eo, such as adeo ("approach"), can have passive forms, and the passive would be identical to the form found here, but this is unconvincing. I'd like something actually to comment on this, and nothing that I can find does.

The Lewis and Short lists "itur" as apparently a form under "eo" as if it were just the most natural thing in the world, and the example that it cites seems to indicate a normal impersonal verb. It is really odd that no one comments on this anywhere.

EDIT: If anyone is re-reading this, it may be of some interest to note that I finally found it. The term is, as SoT said, the impersonal passive, which is regular for verbs that take the dative — put the subject in the dative and the verb in the passive, "ei credetur" = "he will not be trusted" — and in verbs of coming and going where the subject is unimportant and to be neglected ("itur" = "people go").

If my Latin didn't suck so much, I would've known this already.

Duplicate creature sounds pretty similar to copying and pasting a creature, which you can already do. Is it different somehow?

Did you actually find the Peninsula? It's a town that you have to enter. Note that the message you received when you saw the Peninsula said, "At least, it looks perfect from a distance: a peninsula just to the southwest. You have to inspect it up close before you can be sure, though," and the walkthrough says "Proceed south down the waterfalls until you hit the peninsula. Enter the peninsula town, and then head northwest."

Fortunately, you can just go back through Alora if you have to. The gates should stay open.

Place the second mirror at (19,41).

I just noticed that the walkthrough is not of very much use at this point. Sorry about that. :P Another thing to fix for v1.0.1.

There are, although — odd — it appears that they're not documented. I swear that they were at one point. Amazingly enough, they display properly on the automap in the game, as you can see in Exodus anywhere there's vahnatai floor. They just don't display in the editor.

The editor just doesn't bother to check and display which script this is.
Come to think of it, it would be nice if the editor did bother to display this, although it's not critical.

One other thing: on pretty much all the dialog boxes that pop up in the editor, the text cursor starts at the beginning of the line, and it would be more convenient if it started at the end (to ease deleting whatever the default thing is). It would be even more convenient if the text started highlighted, like a normal box, but eh.

Lazarus reminded me: as a possible alternative, simply being able to cut and paste creature scripts would be nice.

I do use the fill rectangle button, but not the other. There's an empty space left between "place force barrier" and "clear space," too.

I'll be damned... it's a real Latin word. That quote ("sic itur ad astra") is originally from the Aeneid (9.641). It's just not in the Lewis and Short, which is one of the standard Latin dictionaries. How the heck did they miss that?

Google yields some sites that try to translate this as "Thus do we find the stars" or "This way to the stars," but the problem is that "itur" isn't a Latin word. "Sic iter ad astra" might be "Thus is the way to the stars" or something like that, but certainly not itur.

Gah, I can't finish a single scenario without asking for help, I think.

I've now set the table for the feast, and I think I'm also supposed to make some food for the feast. I can't find the recipe book, and I can't tell if I even really have to be doing this.

I'm lost. What am I actually supposed to be doing in this scenario?

Ah, I think the original statement was intended to mean that elegance can be in itself a useful feature of a thing. If this were simply that elegance can in itself be a good thing, well, duh, but that it is useful is another statement again.

I suppose that the statement is true, and I suppose that it is not obvious.
