It is possible that knowing more than one language frees up such restraints if they exist.

Polylingual people tend to be very clear, broadminded and brilliant thinkers.
Of course, it is not unlikely that this is because clear, broadminded and brilliant thinkers tend to learn a lot of foreign languages. But still.

I believe Alorael now owes Salmon a big part of the brib-- ahem, "proceeds" he can gain from the candidates.

Actually, people could easily have registered as voters several times.

Drakey checked the IPs.

Also, almost all who have cast their votes are established, known members of the community, no newbies. This was achieved in a clever way - the registration thread predates the final round by a month, and only the permanent members would be here both during registration and during the election.

—Alorael, who can see this either as a test of will and stamina or a test of how often information can be viewed before people start tuning it out. And either way, it's not something that shoule be tested on Spiderweb. Spam is bad.

The problem is that this spike in posting can't be measured! Since it occurs neatly within the given time period, the only way to find it would be to increase the measurement frequency - increasing the frequency of the spikes as well!

A moderator is not Aran.

But trying to score points this way sounds like spitting on a grave.

And I swear your "Juicy Lucy" stuff is getting annoying. I hope Thuryl didn't sanction this name, or my respect for him has taken a dip.

He's trying underhanded subversion tactics. None of Aran's voters have changed to Thuryl; ADoS is trying to make it appear so just for the heck of it.

"In this language utterly foreign" is not the word order used either in English or in German. Come to think of it, French has a similar structure.

People have lost worse in accidents with a chainsaw. Still... a community where roleplaying is so strongly monopolized by established satellites (ie Desperance and Polaris) isn't really fertile ground for a new rp board.

Notice that he assumes that the person is a she.

Do I hear Dashboard Confessional playing in the background?

The premise for the situation was to assume the one stuck in the car was "the one you love the most out of everyone you know". It did not state anything about gender.

For many heterosexual males, said person would presumably be female.
