Burma Shave in Avernum is blatant and unfunny. It is on the signs by the road leading up to Blackcrag Fortress, or near the path that leads... It's near Blackcrag.

In Exile (E3 at least, I don't know about the others), you had to press [Shift] and either [6],[7],[8] or [9]. I think that's right, and unfortunately, I can't check. It definately wasn't on a sign though...

He's about my height (5'11"ish), but with short blonde hair. He has watery blue eyes, which I loathe. He tends to be arrogant, and two-faced, although sometimes he reverts to just being a complete and utter idiot. He tries to impress people, and often succeeds, much to my dismay. He works at the same place I do. It would be fair to say I don't like him, mostly for hurting the person I described previously.

All based upon BoA designing:

Working/Ending.

The bit where you load up Crimson Editor and the BOA Editor, and look at it, and realise that you have a few dialogue nodes to do, and one or two special encounters to do before its finally finished, when suddenly your mouse slips and lands on the AOL icon, or you inadvertantly phone a friend and arrange to go out, or, which is worse, you close all open windows and load up another game.

I could finish my scenario. I could do it soon. But if real life isn't stopping me when I actually do want to design, I tend to put it off.

My main problem with US spelling is the sloppy dropping of the letter "u". "Armour" has a "u". "Favourite" has a "u". "Colour" has a "u".

As for currency, in Economics, we were told to put the symbol before the amount of money. Even if we're using pennies, we write it as £0.34, which may or may not be a school thing.

...But will my mage recieve enough skill points to be able to max out her mage spells skill as well as get a high enough tool use level?

I'm concerned that my mage will be able to open every door in the game, but won't be able to cast any decent spells. Or is that not a problem?

The Madhouse Monastary in A3 was also an Easter Egg, especially some of the hidden messages that were...erm... hidden there. It's on one of the south-eastern islands, and you need to have bought the key from Firefox(?).

This is all based on memory, since I haven't been anywhere near any of the games for a long time.

Fort Emergence
Samuels sat in the main dining hall, supping the last bit of ale from his tankard. The attack on Fort Emergence had gone well, but now, now he was worried about the lack of any forces to protect him the surface. Even thogh he didn't have to put up with surface-scum in the caves now, he was wide open to attack, and he wasn't sure he liked it.

As well as this, he'd heard nothing from Morgain for a long time, and he was worried. If the Abyss was hostile, he'd lost out on a large chunk of potential allies, as well as wasted the life of his most trusted advisor.

He called for more beer, and planned his next move - he'd been silent for far too long, and despite the work he'd done during the last week or so, it was now time to be more socially proactive...

Erika's Tower
Now that the APL had secured all of Upper Avernum, save for one or two useless passages to the west, Samuels had ordered some research to take place at Erika's old tower . Despite the disrepair of the place, the area was still heavy with magical residue, and they magi here had unearthed a few tomes - all useless so far, of course.

The tomes found in Ghikra had now been deciphered, and found to be plans for some kind of magical cannon. Samuels had been cheered greatly by the news, and had ordered a group of 20 magi to work on constructing one. It was hard work.

The leader of the magi at the tower was sitting in his office near the experiment hall, when a sharp knock at the door broke his silence.

"Enter!"

A short, plump young woman entered the room, and spoke quietly.

"We've, er... We've constructed the housing for the cannon sir. All we need now is one of the crystals to be charged and we're ready for testing."

Wearily, she marched on, alone. The small group that had escorted her had been picked off by Chitrachs miles back. Sighing, she heaved herself against a wall, resigned to the fact that she would probably die here. She closed her eyes, exhausted from her fruitless journey.

I finally got some free time, so I'm going to try and complete A4. Now, I have a save game at the Formello barrier, which I played through the demo version with before I registered, but I may have missed/misused a lot of stuff.

I probably also set my characters up totally wrong as well, so is it worth starting from the beginning again? And if so, what kind of set-up would you suggest? My regular Avernum party (Slith polearm-man, Nephil archer/thief, priest and thief-mage) managed all right so far, so will they be okay through the rest of the game?

I have but one issue - resolution. I run a really awful old monitor that won't even run Av4. If Nethergate goes upto 106756770xWhatever, then I won't be able to play it, which would be bad...

If I had confirmation that it would run in 800x600, I'd pay the money now. In fact, I'd pay my $25 again.

I'd like to vouch for SiteMouse. Both me and Drakey use it, so it does work.

It has no adverts, no pop-ups, but does have a 3mb filesize limit, so it's pretty useless if you want to host scenarios or whatever. It's pretty easy to use though... your call.
