Perhaps he finds that the crediting in the original article is enough?
Still, I think spy.there's community name should be there too. Perhaps while he's editing anyway, he could take something out as well? *looks hopeful*

Yes, but he's neither a stupid chestbeating, swordwielding hunk nor is he stupid and has angsty personality issues like all usual heroes in fantasy (eg. Belgarion and Harry, respectively).

Trillian. If there is one thing I've learnt concerning Instant Messengers, it is that it's far easier to use the client another person prefers than to persuade them to switch. And like hell I'm going to run 4 clients at the same time. I have no real preference - individually, all the programs (MSN, ICQ, Yahoo, AIM) more or less suck, though ICQ less so than the others.

On another note, does anyone here use Skype?

The invisible Pink Unicorn, of course, would be visible at all normal times, but become invisible in combat (using a transparent graphic).

Of course, you'd still be able to target it... ah well.

The word in the title has now been uttered five times by people in this thread, and three out of five times misspelled.

Richard White, William Thomas Fletcher, the Fluffy Turtles, the Weather Balloon and other such Spiderweb phenomenons don't count. They're only fronts spun by Polaris to cover up for our secret takeover.

The Bermuda Triangle is real. The ships that have vanished in it were abducted by aliens.

With the kind of messages (KILL KILL KILL!) that most video games send quite openly, who needs subliminal ones?

FDR: It's not unlikely. It's even less unlikely that GWB did the same concerning the World Trade Center.

David Icke. Little more needs to be said.

Also, it is spelled "conspiracies". It is remarkable how little is known about the English language in the countries where it is spoken.

Two of the most gruesome injuries I've had: When I was four, I stumbled over a stone stair case and cut my forehead on one of the steps. On the day I got the stitches, I fell over again and it re-opened. The resulting scar is now about as visible as Harry Potter's, and in exactly the same place. Given the comments that people make when they see my picture, you can imagine this doesn't help.

The other one: In the summer I turned fifteen, it was so hot that my father installed a ceiling fan in the room I shared with my sister.
I slept in the top bunk of a two storey bed. The ceiling fan was about a meter away from the ladder.

You can see where this is going, right?

Currently, I use Wikipedia nearly as much as Google. And that's a lot.

Accuracy has never been a problem - perhaps the information I need is so widely spread and requested so often that it is updated and checked regularly enough. As a matter of fact, the only mistake I have ever seen on Wikipedia was a typo.

And the funniest Engrish phrase I have ever seen:

"If passenger of foot heave in sight, tootle the horn. Trumpet him melodiously at first, but if he still obstacles your passage, tootle him with vigour."

3. How much will that cost?

1. It is about them (them being the interested folks). There is little more interesting to an individual than anything concerning himself. The numbers also are a grading of their actions, and everyone loves to know how well they are doing.

Following this theory, I would expect that if someone did a statistic to rank people according to how much time they spend in the bathroom, that would be a popular topic as well.

2. and 3.
I am interested in those answers as well. I could use some extra income. :P Or perhaps make those statistics pay-per-view? ^_^

"Who are they?"
IC:

"Who?" Melora pretended ignorance, even as Lisha pretended to be asleep in spite of their conversation.

"The silver-haired people."

"I have no idea." Melora responded.

There was a brief silence.

"I have heard some stories." Melora added as she realized Lisha wasn't buying it. "They're fables, mostly, but little less contrived than this rubbish about King Albert's treasure." Lisha, even with her eyes closed, seemed to raise her brows. If you do not believe it, then what are you seeking?

"You know, perhaps, that my people dwelled in the forest once. We like to forget that, but it cannot be denied."

[[OOC: Zephyr, once again, a chunk of background is heaped on your village. Just mention any problems.]]

"There were more tribes. We lived without much difference before the shadow first arrived. After that, we grew... apart." She hesitated. "Some of us tended to one side, and some to the other."

"Here's where the fable starts. Popular myth holds that there was a tiny group of us who refused to choose. They held on to their precious neutrality even when the storm broke, and madness took the world."

"And for that, they were cursed. Twice. The shadow elves doomed them never to see the daylight again without suffering burns, and the light elves cursed them to suffer confusion as long as they remained in the darkness. The only time they could live normally was by moonlight. To top it off, their hair was colored silver." Melora finished. Lisha remained silent, and for a moment, Melora believed she had fallen asleep through her tale.

"Caecus was walking about quite ably in light and darkness." She commented suddenly. "Also, he appears to have fallen for an immortality scam."

"That's why I said the story is ridiculous." She considered. "But note that Caecus wears armor that has no openings save for his eyes, and his people still dwells underground. I suppose lamps would dispell the darkness enough to keep their minds clear. Also, elven immortality isn't what it used to be - most of us just live really long, and the curse could have severely shortened their lifespan. Finally, curses can fade over time. For Caecus, the allergy to sunlight cannot have been more than a minor nuisance, or he would not be able to wander above ground even with his armor."

"What would that mean, though?" Lisha enquired.

"Little. Except that the tale also mentions the curse gave them great power under the light of the full moon. If the curse is fading, then so will that power."

"Keep in mind that it has likely been long since they were in battle. I suspect they may not know how much or how little of that power remains."

Oh, and before you say "Well, my last name isnt' anywhere on my website," let me say "Well, it could've been deduced. Eventually."

My last name is on my site, but it's not here on the boards. There's still that comfy degree of separation. Plus, when my full name gets Googled in the future, this thread is going to come up, whereas it wouldn't if my last name were absent from it.

The worst thing is, if the thread gets deleted, it will forever remain in the index/cache. I have a thread from some years back where I gave my email address as firstname_lastname@web.de (you can find out if you really feel like it, but I'd rather not give Google another hit).

So I suggest that if you want it taken down, you ask Not I and spy now, rather than hoping for it to sink into the depths of the Google index. ;)

It's bad enough TGM kept calling me by my last name, and TM has my real name next to the pseudonym on his site.
