Please don't invert the colors and call it an edit... you can do so much more interesting things by color shifting via the editor. -------------------- Enraged Slith's Blades of Avernum Website "Rain drops keep fallin' on my head, but that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red. If all you want to do is remove the flames, it can easily be done by simply using a paint can tool (or filler tool or whatever) and filling in the flames with white. I didn't put any effort into the flames, so they only use 2-3 colors. -------------------- Enraged Slith's Blades of Avernum Website "Rain drops keep fallin' on my head, but that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red. I never made a normal muffin graphic, though that one can easily be altered, which I will do if you want. You just have to specify what you want the graphic to look like. -------------------- Enraged Slith's Blades of Avernum Website Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

This state is called when your party member walks to space, not when they physically land on a space. I'm trying to inflict a status effect on the specific party member who lands on the space, but the char_on_loc call wont work because the state is called BEFORE the character is actually on the space the terrain script is placed. How annoying. Here's the script, can anyone think of something I am doing wrong? -------------------- Enraged Slith's Blades of Avernum Website Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

Thanks. I was thinking of writing up my own Phase Spider script for a scenario I'm working on, but remembered some guy had written one years back. I had no idea how cool it was. -------------------- Enraged Slith's Blades of Avernum Website Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

I'm talking about the scripts Walker White wrote a few years back. I still have trouble with creature targeting and it sounds like he had the stuff down to a science. Can I find these scripts anywhere or are they lost forever? -------------------- Enraged Slith's Blades of Avernum Website Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

Music only helps if it is good though. Good game music is expensive and really weighs down on the download time. You're better off supplying your own music. -------------------- Enraged Slith's Blades of Avernum Website Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

The reason I removed the 'Preview' page was because the graphics were either erased or I'd never intend to complete them. As for the Paladin, I recently (as in the last week) nearly finished him. Unfortunately, I'm stuck on his two front attack poses (they just don't look right to me) and cannot think of a way to make them look good. Other than that, he just needs to be chaired and he's good to go. -------------------- Enraged Slith's Blades of Avernum Website Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

Another update, this time a new NPC graphic. I actually completed this guy in a single day, so I'm proud (even if I did recycle some of my unfinished graphics). I just watched that Shaq show. Though the judges were a little lenient on the fitness test (half-assed push ups) the show was the most inspiring thing I've ever seen on television. The whole point of the show (besides making money) is to inspire kids to exercise. It didn't glorify fad, month long diets, but simply had the overweight children stick to a 9 month regiment of diet and exercise. Every kid lost a lot of weight, felt great about it, and wanted to inspire more kids to do the same. I'm not sure why anyone would label this show as a bad program. -------------------- Enraged Slith's Blades of Avernum Website Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

Any show that promotes healthy living is fine in my book. quote:Nope, there are plenty of other media sources specifically designed to do that. Maybe you're just self-conscious about being a little overweight. You know, if your time allows it, regular exercise is fun, productive, and uplifting. -------------------- Enraged Slith's Blades of Avernum Website Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

*bump for new monster graphic* You can check it out on my website if you're curious. Scenario update: I've decided not to release the scenario as the majority of the combat is even more tedious than regular hack and slash. The larger reason for this decision is that I feel the part I love about this scenario can easily fit in as a humorous side story in another scenario. So, when I make a scenario with enough wiggleroom, I'll include the everything I liked about this scenario as a side story. Thanks to all the testers who helped me get through my "first" scenario. -------------------- Enraged Slith's Blades of Avernum Website Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

The developer is selling his time, effort, and expertise. I really don't know how to answer that question other than, it is implied that the developer is selling his program for use only, not distribution. I believe you have to agree to legal terms every time you install a program. -------------------- Enraged Slith's Blades of Avernum Website Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

Your rights end where other's rights begin (or something like that.) Theft is theft, no exceptions. It might be hard for some people to understand but nothing is free. You may not be paying for the music you're stealing but that money has to come from somewhere, like the cost of concert tickets. -------------------- Enraged Slith's Blades of Avernum Website Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

quote:It's true that I might have been able to cut some corners and fit the guy into a single box, but the quality would have been compromised. When you make these graphics you place the feet rather than fill the box. If I hadn't placed his feet in the right location, he'd clash with terrain, flooring, and other creature graphics. -------------------- Enraged Slith's Blades of Avernum Website Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

Just giving the BoA community a quick update. New monster graphic as well as my first large monster graphic: JPEG version My website, where you can find this graphic. Scenario Update: Last time I checked, I've only recieved three beta reports on my scenario (one of which was from a tester I didn't know about.) I've decided to wait a while before releasing it as it requires extensive tweaking to fix the more annoying parts. Most importantly, it's short, a bit unpolished (ugly looking), and in my opinion, boring. My plan was to make a simple Jeff Vogel style scenario, and though I liked the story, I went a little overboard with unique monster scripts and battles. EDIT: Make that three beta testers. I'd like to thank Niemand, Randomizer, and Max Oliver(?) for beta testing.
