No no no no no... I wouldn't dare do any contests. As if I would be able to keep up with all of that  . We'll be providing scenarios, graphics, scripts, tutorials, and reviews for all the former. But honestly, our main goal is give a backbone to the community by establishing ourselves as an 'elite' group of developers and know-it-alls. How well that's gunna turn out is quite unclear, but that's what we're trying to get at. I understand your frustration with Spiderweb's lack of support, and wholly agree with you. But I DON'T see why you would give up on BOA simply for the support issues. And yes I do trust Jeff... he hasn't really let me down yet. I'm an avid and long-time gamer, so maybe I'm just used to bugs and programming issues. I've seen more than my share of problematic games and developers. We'll just have to see. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

I like your "dusty" terrain, and will be using that (if I'm allowed to). However your desert terrain is perhaps... a little too yellow? I fear the strain on player's eyes. I recommend a slighty browner tint. And your snow it awfully white. But oh well, I can't think of a better way to do it. Maybe a very light gray? I also remember a RED desert terrain for BOE, but there's not a chance I'd remember the author. I would love to see that recreated for BOA, as I used it in my never-finished-never-will-be BOE mega-scenario. I've got the perfect place for it. Someone? -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! My site (nothing there yet for obvious reasons) will offer VERY indepth reviews of what me and the team view as good, quality scenarios; preferably by noted designers. I find it hard to believe that our team will actually move to any standardized rating system. I have a system of my own (that my team has welcomly accepted), based part on ESRB for content rating(www.esrb.com for more info), and a simple Ups-and-Downs technique for actually reviewing the gameplay. I understand your anger in the lack of support, but it could be worse. I won't go off giving examples, but other developers are definitly less tolerate of community feed-back. I'll also take this time to formally introduce EEP. In short, it's a BOA development team. We'll be very active in the community for as long as we can. We'll be providing everything from scenarios and graphics to scripts and tutorials. Our goal is to be a prominent force in this great community, and to help people with any and everything they need. Sitting on a mere 3 members at this time doesn't look to good. We'll be more than happy to accept new members, you need only ask for information on what you'll need to do. Basically we're looking for experience in the community, and knowledge of the both the game and the game world are great attributes. I don't think we need to fear this coming. BOA will surely be great, even without support from Spiderweb. But Jeff is a great guy, and we should trust him in him saying that he will help us. Just have fun  -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

I think it's safe to assume that BOA will receive much, much more support than BOE. In the last couple years, Jeff has really stepped it up. I also do believe that in some post lost in time, we discussed why we should stick with Spiderweb on BOA, giving the past relations we've had. Jeff expressed want to help us out more, so I think we're going to have plenty of patches and scenario support. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! I can't say I remember this 'scenario'. Perhaps you could describe it a bit more? -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

Ok, I have attempted to fix my computer, having to reinstall much. I've resent my e-mail containing roughly 25 individual graphics, but I'm still not positive it sent correctly. So let me know if you've got it yet, so I know to bash my computer to pieces or not. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

That would help. I've been taking programming classes, but it's all C++ and the such, so I'm afraid it won't help me much here. Hopefully my friend Motekye will pick up on this, considering I ask him questions about everything anyway. I'd also like to request some more pictures of the design phase if at all possible. Maybe some of monster creation, item creation, or similar stages. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

I think Arcantayter (definite spelling problem there) said he was gunna do it. If not him, someone like him. I'd like to know the status of it, too. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

Good I guess. I'm not sure if you'll be able to make those Wrist Shields, but then again I don't know too much about the engine. We'll just have to see. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

Soon, relativally speaking. RPGPlanet claims? Perhaps they are confused with BOE, but I wouldn't bet on that. Who knows... well Jeff does but that's beside the point. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

Post count doesn't matter. I'm not where close to new to these boards, but I only have something like 300 posts. But I still know more!! Visit the BOA section, it's better and lacks all the wasteful posts. Only mature people know how to discuss a game that isn't out yet. And join EEP, we're nice people (usually). Haha. Yea we're just getting Halo, too. It was XBOX exclusive til now. And it makes since that Mac will get it at the same time, as Bungie is a long-time fan of Macs. Agreed. Well yea but... Hey you guys even have Half-Life yet? How about UT2k3? I just wish it was easier to convert the Mac version to Windows. No longer than a 5 hour recompile. And I doubt it would be that long... I think I'll go make a program that can do that. While I finish playing Ghost Recon muhaha :D Edit: Oh yes, and it looks like I won't be purchasing GF2 at it's release. I've only set off enough money/time this month for one game, and sadly, Call Of Duty has triumphed. Never to fear though, I will eventually buy it. It'll just have to wait til December. Edit2: Typos? I think I'm dislexic. [ Friday, October 03, 2003 02:21: Message edited by: [E.E.P.] Karzoth ] -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

Well, considering that "early 2004" can still be applied to more than one month, it's not likely that he'll wait. I still think of March as early 2004, so Mac might be released in January and Windows in March. I admit to wishing that the design phase would be in 2D, this makes things much easier to get right. Surely Jeff included a 3D "preview" mode. Would he over look that? Finally, this all looks great. I can't wait :D -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Well I don't feel responding to everyone's little nit-picks, so I'll just say some stuff. I play in the band also, but I'm in the battery. That's right... drumline baby!! Bass drum to be exact. And also, at our school, our pit are our Tenor Drum players. No not Quads or Quints, just tenors. We call them "PITiful" because they all suck but 2. Ok anyway... I'd love to put some of our songs on the net (check my site below sometime in the future). No I'm not a band geek. And yes, literally 1000+ people have said the "one time, at band camp..." thing to me. Yes, it IS annoying. -------------------- Fort Emergence Home of the [E.E.P.] Rage and vengeance are minions of me. The fists of the Phoenix will strike the unrightious.
