I know nothing BOA scripts, but this sounds possible to me. It will most definitly be a pain to make, but should work. Side note: Knights and Samurai are essentially the same... but that doesn't make a difference. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Aside from agreeing about Whinal Fantasy, this is some nice information that should keep the noobies from begging for at least a little while. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

I don't see why not. This might be a problem is outdoor combat, but then again I am a paranoid person. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

Perhaps you never quite figured out how to give your characters skills. I've deduced that one can make the game a challenge (gasp) if they go skill-less. That of course, would drop any "role-playing", leaving us with an action/adventure. And again, I'm confused as I specifically remember Drakey saying the damage is going back to the olden-times. I'll try to find the post... -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

To monsters? Someone just asked this five days ago and the answer was 'no'. You guys confuse me... And how would they use items anyway? So damage gets modified by what weapon they are using? Goblins with the Blackhalberd? I'm scared. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

Not really. The whole purpose of an anti-magic scenario would be to further challenge the user, no? Sounds fair and useful game to me. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

The damage system is reverting to A1/2 type, correct? I do believe that was stated at some point. Also, I tend to email Jeff a lot (from work, second only to my fiance (I'M GETTING MARRIED w00t)) and pop the request for more screenshots often. As you have all noticed, he ingores. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

That "FAQ at the top of the page" is sounding mighty good right now... If you want to play as a Vahnatai, simply create a PC graphic sheet, fill in all the spaces needed, and overwrite another PC you won't be using. I think someone has already done this for you, so check out the Louvre. If you wanna do it yourself, it should only take about 3 hours of painstaking work. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! As stated a million times before, no. Character "classes" (I don't feel right even using quotations) are being removed. They don't work. Please close this before it gets out of hand... again. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

Not that this belongs here but... I think I speak for everyone when I say the story is a great one. First of all, anyone playing Spiderweb games is either A) looking for story or visuals or B) isn't a hardcore gamer. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! How dare you refer to me as sterile! Anyway, language is not something you want to mess up, seeing as a large population of people would be upset by it's disuse (or something like that). It's always better to have a "translator" following the party around, just in case one's mage lore is lacking. But aren't all of our's? -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Well seeing as the story of BoA is completely unrelated to that of the Avernum series, I wouldn't base your decision off that. And, after all, it is an Avernum game, which could easily answer your own question. It's not called BoG. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Sure thing. I admit to not being very active (if at all) in the BOE community. I'll find them and upload onto my site around Monday. And you are right, you have little reason to trust me, you have no idea who I am. I'm not even positive anyone uploaded my stuff onto a site that exists today. I'll try to dig them up and let you all try them. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

I have released about 7 BoE scenarios, almost all under different monikers, as you've guessed. I don't remember them all (monikers) so it's useless to ask. If you want to try some of my scenarios, look for: Day of the Dead Hollow Men at Dawn Rest in Pieces and The Indolin Wars The rest is crap, because it was my first. If you do, somehow, manage to find any of these, I suggest Men at Dawn and Hollow (Rest in Pieces being the worst, as the cheesy name indicates). I'd consider those my best, and have considered porting them to BoA, altough that would probably push me to madness. Well, further into madness. Luckily, I have a good history for finishing most of what I start. And considering BoA should be slighty easier to pull of better stunts, we'll all be able to finish more. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! To an earlier question, yes you can have timers. And DesertPlah, the idea isn't to annoy. Without giving the story away hopefully, the user has to choose a side, and their choice determines which side they are on. The PLAYER doesn't ultimatly lose, just their cause. I'm still working it out, but the user will probably escape the horrible battle to regroup with their "team". I understand your judgement, but it most likely won't be that way. Or perhaps this whole project is a little too ambitious...? -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

And I agree with you. Also, what good is an A3 game to the BOA editor? And why recreate Hawk's Manse, why not just make your own mansion...? -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |
