Yes of course, though, we've been together since the 8th grade, so it's really not much different. Just official I guess. Wow, someone asked! Actually, Fort Emergence won't have anything until I get BoA (I'm Windows). As far as marriage, it's currently set for June 22nd. And let me tell you... I've never had butterflies before, and this feels weird. -------------------- Better to die for something, than live for nothing. Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

Yes, it's quite an embarassment when no one recognizes your absense... Or new monikers! Or the fact that I think my posts are invisible because no one ever talks to me! Or the fact that every time I post in General, it comes out spamish and makes me look like a noob-12 year old! (prime example) Edit: What the... I swear my past 20 posts have been #519... That problem can simply be fixed by--- oh wait, no... no it can't be simply fixed. I suppose the only way to help with writer's block is to take classes on how to develop stories and such. But, that's obviously a retarded idea, not worthy of a glance. So in other words, if you are just DYING to be a scenario creator, make lots of tiny, hopelessly addictive 'shorts' that mimic the story of common folktales or legends. That way, the story is out of the way, and all you have to do is make the tangible side of the scenario! Brilliant(if not obvious)! -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Time again... to complain? Oh, it's been that time for a while now, but it shouldn't be too much longer before we get it. Sad thing is, I'm not too entirely sure how hooked I'll get, seeing as other, more important (to me) games will also be releasing soon. Namely... HL2, DooM3, Call of Duty: UO. Plus my usual Morrowind obsession. OH so many games, so little time (and money). -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

Sadly, I can't think of a possible explanation for this. I won't attempt to insult your intelligence by telling you to exit all other running programs, but MAYBE that's your problem. You should perhaps bring this up in the Tech Support area. Other than that, I can't help you seeing as I don't have this problem. Then again, I have a real gaming machine. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

I think it's clearly lying the state of the player's gathering of facts. It's much like famous poems or novels; we all get what we see out of it. Chances are, most characters aren't specifically designed for what we think. There are just made, and our human minds conduct all of the tying in. Perhaps they were subconciously meant to have these strings, but then again who are we to draw this conclusion? -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! I can't say I gathered that. I felt as if he was trying to (and accomplished) push his view on why characters are there. This, of course, all going back to the Why? article. But... that's my opinion. I will have to agree on Creator's point. Even if it is somewhat... obvious? But perhaps that's just because I do have experience with such creations. If any of you know me, or my design style, you'll know I, too, favor strong characters and a plot woven tightly with them. I hardly ever use "filler" NPCs, just to make the world seem populated. Everyone has a purpose. Yay for characters! -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

Well considering that I've planned a massive (kinda) siege for part of a series, I've been thinking about this. My best idea was similar to one already posted, having custom graphics in the world. When entered, it's essentially a dungeon, and there's some fighting (or not), and then you move to another section. As far as formations, that really doesn't hold much use in an Avernum game. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

I know nothing BOA scripts, but this sounds possible to me. It will most definitly be a pain to make, but should work. Side note: Knights and Samurai are essentially the same... but that doesn't make a difference. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT!
