Would it be possible to put enemy soldiers on horses so that you don't only have to buy them but you can kill people for them as well. Of course it would be rare to find them or the soldiers would be really strong. On the subject of horsies, would it be possible to change the horse graphics to some other kind of critter? i don't care for the idea, just pay chum change for them, tht's my opinion. But if nescessary... i say that a death trigger would get complicated, because if you kill them in a random battle (outdoors fight) you can't mount the horses in battle, thus... no good. You could do what TM did with Corporeus though- insist that the player temporarily replace the graphics files. It's a bit more work, but it shouldn't detract from people's enjoyment of the scenario if it's well-made, like Corporeus was. Just as long as you don't make a scenario where the point is to deliver a message to a man in another city while riding on the back of a cow, and then ending it. A single horse magically turns into one for each party member. Actually, the horse just disappears, and the PC's all switch to their mounted graphics. Because the horse is part of the PC graphic and not any easily altered monster or item graphic, changing the image would require quite a bit of work and some editing of the BoA data files. —Alorael, who is positive a cat appeared in a BoA screenshot. It's not a great picture, but why not look at it yourself? You could also go find the cats in A1. They don't look different in later games. How about this: Start with a graphic of a mounted NPC. When the NPC dies, replace it with two other NPCs - a "dead" rider and a "live" mount. Or visa versa, at random. Then if you wanted to, at battle's end you could make those "captured" mounts available to the party, maybe some to ride, some to sell, etc. Still doesn't address the "alternate" mount idea, but it's a start. -------------------- All that we see, or seem, is but a dream within a dream. If you're going to be ganking people's horses, I think it's be easiest to set it up with an info pop-up box that shows up when you enter a barn-like structure in an enemy fort or lair or something. It'll say something like "Wow, man! You found the stables. Are you gonna gank these dumb bandits' horses or what? 1. Gank 'em! 2. Nah. 3. Partay DOWN!!! Woo!" and depending on which option you pick, you could suddenly find your PC's atop some horsies, suddenly find that nothing's changed, or suddenly find that a wild party has broken out in the middle of the bandit lair for some reason. -------------------- Fly beyond the ocean, over the mountains, past the moon and across the face of the sun, never to come home again. Is it possible to have a piece of equipment change your character graphic? For example, you could have "Horse-Boots", so when you equip them you are mounted with extra AP. speaking of which, why the hell cant you attack/fight on horseback? as far as i know most of the best troops of most armies was mounted cavalry units with swords (heck even Napoleon used emn and there were already guns) plus ive always found horribly uncomfortable to be on horseback in the first place i always forget the dam things at the city gates...
