I was actress, journalist, event manager and galerist, I am now freelancing artist, writer and sexworker, and I want to buy a monastery or a church in Italy, to live independent. Maybe I'll write some books, probably I'll be in local politics. All the other things, I wanted to be when I was a child (chemist, biologist, veterinary surgeon, ballet-dancer, classical singer, scene decorator, designer, film director, teacher, farmer, detective) have to wait until next life ^_^ edit: typo [ Friday, September 03, 2004 00:01: Message edited by: spy.there ] -------------------- ^ö^ I was a cannibal for twenty-five years. Hi ef, ich muss dir noch einen Gruss zuzwitschern ... von Rache. Hab mich mal per PM bei ihr fuer den A3-Walktrough bedankt und sie meinte, du haettest einen grossen Teil dazu beigetragen. Danke ef, war ungemein hilfreich, euer Fuehrer @>->-- To come back to the topic (where is Jimda btw?): When I started to play Avernum, it was one of my first thoughts, to translate the game into German. But in between I think it's better, to leave them in the original language and implement them in educational use for english classes. So why do you think Jimda, the games should be translated into French? -------------------- ^ö^ vegetarians are sexy. Posts: 1420 | Registered: Wednesday, October 2 2002 07:00 |

Thanks for the file Dahak. It's a splendid town with a lot of open space, beautiful and japanese style - with the nice stone lamps around. You made hidden places: the first is some kind of training garden, maybe for kendo and other samurai war-arts. One single flaw: the wooden gate in the fence SE does not open. But really, I can't help you to enliven this town. It depends fully of your plot. What town shall this be, a friendly or an enemy place? Sure you should fill items in all chests and lockers, because it annoys the player to find nothing. You could add some more hidden doors, small cabinets do discover and find gifts and hidden levers. But as I said, it depends totally on your story, what is useful or not for this town . :) Well, define more, to get help. -------------------- Slartucker: * facepalm facepalm facepalm * Dikiyoba: Are you unconscious yet? :) Bienvenue au Spiderweb jimda! I don't think, Jeff Vogel is planning the release of a french version. But David once searched after a natively speaking frenchman. Ok., here my review about EM: The story actually starts, when the party stumbles over Wihcaser's body. Before that, it is a serial row of shortcuts and dialogues; the player is strongly guided into directions and cannot choose his path. Tedious. The whole prologue is nice to see once or twice, but it is no gameplay, just to collect information. I would have put e.g., some monsters into the Aqua Gem-cave, or built some puzzles around the Holy Mound. Or I would have told the whole prologue in one text window and begin the game with the talk to Ligcan. Nevertheless, the shortcut with Wihcaser is great. A small mistake in Licgan's first talk: it says "Wihsacer" instead of Wihcaser. Why are most of your lockers, chests and barrels empty? Was the same in RoR: no surprises for curious adventurers ;_; There is a village and the entrance to a cave without opportunity to enter. Why? I missed a healer!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the smith' dialogue could be the option to switch between buy / identify - now you have to start talk again. The smith also sells only crude and iron arrows - not very equalized to the power of the foes. Also there are neither potions nor herbs in the whole scenario. I liked the shocking effect when Wihcaser's body pops up (and later the gem). Although ... Wihcaser "has slice marks all over his body" says the text window - and what we see is a beautiful, unhurt body ^_^ ... kind of theatrical refinement. I loved the fights and the strong enemies (yay for Corrosive Slimes!). You implemented a lot of improved monsters - the party needs strategy to defeat them. And Lyfan ... um ...would be nice, if that steam power turbine you describe (and we can see) could be deactivated. To leave Lyfan alive is like an unfinished quest. The timid goblin is cute. The veneered stone wall in the Goblins' Village is funny (... and puzzled me awful ^_^) A small (aesthetical) flaw: Barbarus puts the Aqua Gem not in the middle of the pedestal. Wouldn't it be beneath a priests dignity to bungle? (nice shortcut, btw) The last fight with Licgan is a gripping challenge. I specially like his last words. You have a talent for high tension but you are lazy with loving details. I would say: EM is a straight one way street with thrilling fights, delightful rewards and a nice town design. Thank you for Emerald Mountain TM! -------------------- Slartucker: * facepalm facepalm facepalm * Dikiyoba: Are you unconscious yet? Posts: 1420 | Registered: Wednesday, October 2 2002 07:00 |

quote:I'm not sure, whether this does better. It caused a new problem (or challenge, if you prefer that): Since babies survive, the world population is growing fast. We have six billions and something now and the poorest countries breed - with our help - the most. I admit the global growth rate has been reduced for the first time - but we still grow by 2,3 humans per second. About 2050, earth will be crowded by 9 billions ... But you are right, pessimism should be used in homeopathic doses. btw: Hexamethonium? In heavy doses? A ganglia blocker?? o_o um, "war" was a flowery exaggeration =_=. I only hate reckless drivers. In my opinion, "The 7 Foolishnesses ..." are a nice impulse to reflect things. I did or do commit every of the "sins" (without 5 maybe), and it's good to become aware of them. -------------------- ^ö^ I was a cannibal for twenty-five years.
