:( I surely would be very sad, because I knew you a little bit. I'd miss your presence at SW and probably I would try to implement your character into a scenario to give you eternal life.

There is no big difference between virtual and real representation, as Thuryl mentioned. The quality of contacts is equal; to be part of an online community can give you the same security as having real friends or a family. It's - according to Methylphenidate - even more comfortable: You have not to dress to go outside, to ride your bike through streaming rain to the party and to endure obnoxious sound and shallow talk to get your social caressing units. Online you can skip a topic, if you are not interested. This might be at least unkind in real communication.

Sanger is so easy to find: you practically stumble over him. Thus I thought, Monk is searching that hidden student I didn't find myself ...

We call it "Schnupperlehre" (snoop-apprenticeship). It's for one week and you can stay afterwards as apprentice, if you like the work and they like you. And the chimpanzees-status depends from the place ^_^

edit: -_- wrong facts, I mixed something ...

Stem Cell Research in General
Agent

It's not another topic, Alo. AFAIK, stem cell research has been developed to replace the research with rhesus monkeys - it's also a lot cheaper to use cell cultures than animals.
And safer. Remember Contergan. It was tested on rats, hamsters, rabbits, monkeys and others.
Human medication tests on animals are a scientific fraud. Hence, stem cell research should be highly welcome.

Indeed, Bush rends his country a bad service by shortening the federal research funding. The most qualified scientists will emigrate to places, where research is supported.
^_^ A department-leader of our university openly said, he would appreciate Bush's re-election - four years ago, he could recruit some excellent cracks from American universities.

I would prefer anytime experiments with human stem cells of cruel animal experiments. It's a big mistake to think, tests on rats, mice, cats and primacies can always be applied to humans. Human medicine should be tested on humans. Or on stem cells and embryos.

I know, there is very boring pop- and rock-music from Christian singers. Nobody listens to that trash except American Christian fundies.

But what is "inspid"? Didn't find that word.

Christian music is Bach, Handel, Haydn, Schuetz, Scarlatti, Monteverdi, Palestrina - all their motets, choirs and sacred music.
^_^ If Ben listens to Christian music, his taste can't be so bad.

Nah. So long as you don't listen to Buxtehude, Ockeghem, Schoenberg, Honegger, Hindemith and Messiaen ...
I hear Alessandro Scarlatti's motets for cotralto right now. Voice from purgatory, heart-rending beautiful.

and Depeche Mode are cool. Specially "Music for the Masses".

Ok, thank you. Then I'll repaint my graphics <sigh> and send them again as gifs. And I follow Thuryl's advice for new graphics.

edit: Maybe it would be useful to mention in Louvre "you shouldn't be saving the graphics as jpegs in the first place". For stupid noobs as me.

I am sorry for your bad karma and hope, the times change soon for you.

Nevertheless I dare to bother you (or somebody else, who could give me a hint) with a silly question about graphics formation. In Louvre you write that gif is preferred. When I change my jpgs to gifs, a lot of colours are spoiled. So I sent the graphics as jpgs. What are you doing with jpgs?
Is there a special trick to transfer a jpg into gif without loss? I work with Photoshop. Any advice is appreciated.
