http://www.beyondblue.org.au

It's the Australian Depression Initiative or something. Beside from being an "official" site, it actually has a very large amount of useful content, from information on the diseases and their causes, to triggers, and how to both help a) yourself, and b) your friends.

Also has good links, from memory.

Worth a look, at any rate.

Edit: bad url

To over-simplify it, Greta can "kill things good", Alwan cannot.

1) a long while back

2) no.

It is the same for a lot of people. The masses of new decks that started coming out from way back in 2000 or so, just about anything past Tempest, was just overpowered, weird, and ruined the game for a lot of people.

I didnt play it a lot, but i had friends who did. It was really interesting, but was spoiled by lots and lots of stupid new powerful decks. Oldschool MTG is by far the best.

Not really Slartucker, as (over-simplified) generically
Guardian - Melee
Agent - Magic
Shaper - Creations

See, thats why they have specific strengths and weaknesses, because the class is tailored towards certain aspects of the game. If an Agent is to be a better melee than a Guardian, why does the Guardian class exist?

And thats pretty much where it sits.

That was pretty much my point Slartucker. Not that they are incapable, but more if you want to Melee, be a Guardian. Its like saying you COULD make a Guardian with 4 powerful creations and melee a bit yourself, but why not just make a Shaper?

I'd expand more, but i swear Trinity reads my mind. Just re-read his post.

The problem i find with Melee Agents, is that they dont hit for enough, and get hit for too much. They are like weak Guardians, + Daze.

In the event of you NOT killing the rogue you attack in 1 turn, it is undazed, and often kills you. That, tends to suck.

Its far easier to nuke them at a distance, minimising their ability to even attack you, since they have to GET to you in the first place. That being said, Trinity is pretty much right. Without Essence Shield and Speed, you are a lot more vulnerable. A few points there never hurts, especially when it'll only cost you 2-3 skill points.

I tend to mix up my names, but my party goes as follows

Slith Polearm Fighter
Human Ambidextrous Fighter (lockpicking)
Nephil Ambidextrous Fighter (archery)

Human Heavy-Mage (with Bless priest spells)
Human Mage (with Bless priest spells)
Human Priest (with Haste mage spells, eventually Alchemy).

I find 3melee/3caster the best combination. Also, (and this is moreso in Avernum) i find it of great benefit to have ALL casters able to Bless+Haste

Meh, i suppose its just preference. I have always been an Exile/Avernum person, where you tend to have enough gold for everything. Then you'd have to scroung, save and explore extra dungeons to save enough for the hermit trainers which would train skills like Magery or Blademaster.

I havent got to the main part of the game yet, but even the 2nd island was easy to buy through. I'm happy to be proven wrong though.

Taskmaker! Another game i loved. The sounds at the beginning were so corny. Some over-deepened voice which boomed "The TOOOOOMB of the TASKMAKER!"

Oh man. I played too many old games when i was like 12. It's so cool to remember them though.

I agree on gold.

Even just the mines in the demo. Crystals galore. I was ridiculously rich, with nothing in particular to spend it on.

It seems that after the veritable poverty of G1 and G2, also with shopkeepers running out of gold, G3 has then gone completely overboard the other way. Shopkeepers no longer have finite gold supplies, and gold itself, is very very common.

I prefer scrounging for gold, and taking multiple loot trips than having more gold than i know what to do with, personally =/

Realmz. I used to really like that game.

It was one of the first RPG games i played, along with the original Exile. It was a real shame that the first/free scenario sucked total ass and had no plot.

If you bothered to play any of the subsequent scenarios, they actually had plots and linearity, and made the game a whole lot more enjoyable. City of Bywater, i think the first scenario was called (if you could call it a scenario), reflected really badly on the game itself and that would've hurt sales. The first scenario could be compared with Avernum/Exile 3, JUST the below-the-surface bit. There are lots of little things to do, all of which amount to nothing, and the scenario ends when you bother to leave the valley/caves.

Effectively, Realmz was a bit like BoE, it was just a framework to play scenarios in (although the Fantasoft ones held some form of linearity).

Anyway, i just went off into a tangent of memories from a bout 8 years back... *wakes up*

One must wonder, what happens when one has a question about Geneforge 3.

Firstly, they register on the forums.
Secondly, they scan through the list of Forums.
Finally, they post their Geneforge 3 Question in General Discussion, because it definitely does not belong in the Geneforge 3 Forum.
