Ben is not implying any link between fatness and ugliness. Rather, ugliness and fatness. There is a distinct and tangible difference. Further, he has a valid point. I've seen plenty of ugly thin people, but most of them are old or have some definable unattractive feature. (In fact, older people tend to look better with a little more weight on them. I'd say that I've seen a fair amount of ugly thin people. Largely because of facial features, although in one case because the junkie look is just not attractive. It's all dependent on what you think looks attractive and the weight you attach to the various elements. And lowbrow and homophobic though the humour is, Eraserhead did make his one valid point in this thread. As an insult, that tends to have its intended effect. If I'm talking to someone really stupid (a.k.a. "average" intelligence), I just mimick them. I'm good at that. If I'm talking to someone moderately intelligent and there isn't anyone stupid nearby, I say something like, "Excuse me, but I didn't say you could talk" or "If I wanted to hear you talk, I would have told you what to say". I don't insult people. I antagonize. And when I do, it's because I want to be annoying in a playful way, not cruel.
