Eh... that reminds me, sorry for supporting Alec in that, Rosycat. I was mad at indie rock at the time, for some reason I can't remember, and... anyway, sorry. Alec may be watching, but he told me he had sworn never to come back to Spiderweb on some topic or another, and he intends to stick to that, no matter how hard it is. So he will do no more than watch, if that.

TGM, it was a bit more than that. Alec, in one of his "moods", posted his cozy little opinions of several members on Spiderweb, Rosy included. I think his only favorable review was of Rache; the rest were negative and rather offensive, hence Rosy's reference to being the "type 1 user". And after that, it went downhill... anyway, Alec's gone, let's forget all that.

Then get if back, obviously...

I'll probably be done with GF2 sometime around the beginning of next century... I still haven't beaten GF1... I'm very slow at beating games, because I play one, get near the end, decide to play another, ignore the first, then go on to another... it's an endless cycle, and it means that I rarely actually finish a game. I just beat D2:LoD, maybe I'm on a roll =]

I'm neutral in this, but I am wondering about something: What kept the "You know you're a Spiderwebber if..." topic alive so long if it's needless spam? Sure, it's got a Spiderweb theme, but it has very little to do with game help or whatever else the forums are here for. And I doubt that the topic would stay alive if TGO had some Spiderweb theme in that word game thing, anyway.

Oder Mage, TGO is a member at the Club of All...

Yeah, Zephyr, you can't really expect a custom title on Spiderweb unless you are a very well known member; it's not like on the Club of All. I'm a pretty old member here, and everyone knows who I am, in General at least, and I don't have a custom title. Which may be a good thing, in my case...

Hmmm... can't say I like that song much... generally, any song where the instruments are twice as loud as the the voice does not appeal to me, and I do't like that theme thing either... nor the screaming... and whisering... uh... oh well, better luck next time =]

Ah, yeah, sorry, I shouldn't have said Vikings; the Vikings were invaders, and those at home weren't exactly Vikings. Anyway, my point if that they didn't start out violent, the only got violent when they began crossing the sea and wreaking havoc. Until then they were no more violent than any other clans or tribes or whatever.

OK, I admit we are not doing very well, post-war, but we're really not doing as bad as you might think (thanks to the media and yellow journalism). It's hard to help the people when others are shooting at you from behind trees, and this irrational (yes, irrational, though I admit it's the fault of their leaders and the terrorist propaganda, not their own) hatred of the West does nothing to help. Ef has already said that establishing clean water, etc. would help (I agree with that, but like I said, it's hard to do when you have to keep looking over your shoulder and might end up getting shot anyway), but what else would you all suggest? I'm already getting kind of annoyed about how you all complain, blame, accuse, but never suggest, accept, help.

I think his thing about other topics that deserve locking more than TGO's was meant to prove that TGO's shouldn't be locked, not that the others should. It's all relative.

Ugh. First of all, the Iraqis, in general, are not as they are portrayed in the news; the media makes it seem like every Iraqi keeps a gun under their pillow so they can shoot any American they see. This is far from the truth; most Iraqis are either happy with America, or at least not angry enough to do anything about it. Only a few are taking potshots at our soldiers, and those are not generally supported. I suppose the reason it took so long to kill Odai and Qusai (those were their names, right?) was our soldiers were being cautious, and they did not want unnecessary carnage; I don't blame them. (Unnecessary carnage, how redundant. I guess I should say, they did not want to lose anyone to the rebel's guerilla tactics, and they succeeding in keeping every soldier there alive.)

Weapons of mass destruction? Well, I admit that Bush and Blair did blow that out of proportion to get support for the war; but even without the weapons, isn't a war to remove a murderous dictator justified? Because that's what it was about, no matter what anyone, Bush, liberals, Blair, Saddam, tells you. And there must have been something there; why else did Saddam have the experts to do the work for him, and why did he kick the inspectors out? I can't find the exact dates, but that happened in the mid 90's... seems a bit suspicious, doesn't it?

And Dr Kelly. I hadn't heard the accusations of assassinations before now, but frankly, that's ridiculous. He was very stressed, for obvious reasons, and he would certainly have slit his wrist if he had no better way; what makes you think this suicide was planned? It was most likely caused by a burst of stress and a knife in his hand. And even if he were murdered, it would be insane for Blair to do this; it would remove the last of the support he has, anywhere. Not that i believe he was murdered at all, but if you think about it, wouldn't radical leftists have more reason than Blair to want him dead? Just think, a couple anti-war teens, freshly incensed about Iraq, and then they hear about how some local man helped justify the war, falsely... well, I know it makes little sense, but then so does accusing Blair. I'm not actually accusing anyone, or even really suggesting anything; I fully believe that it was suicide, not murder.

As for anything else, I'll leave that to Ikari... he makes better arguments than me anyway...

EDIT: Spelling mistake, I'm sure I could find more if I actually looked.

This topic is certainly a spamful topic. I like my number too... 919... it's wonderful, and under the 1000 member number line, which, in my opinion, is a good cut-off.

?Sir David, who wishes to thank Alorael for, once again, verifying that he lost his newbiehood shortly after his first post. And for doing it a different way each time.

ONE GAME, not how many good series can you fit in one post.

Anyway... I think I'd have to say Starcraft... logically, I should like it no more than I like WC3, but hey. it probably has somethign to do with WC3's center magnification thing actually... whatever... there you have it, my ONE favorite game.

They weren't called North Men for nothing, but remember, Normandy is in the north of France... so without knowing exactly who gave them that name, we can't know why they were given that name. If it were given to them by Europeans living further south, then that could also explain the name.

Well, of course they had home bases... the only reason they went out in the first place was they needed more land and the people there were weaker, so they took their possessions too, and it bacame a kind of legacy. They certainly didn't start off brutal.

I voted Imban... I mean, Drakey and Alorael obviously don't, in my opinion, Saunders is pretty much untouchable, and I don't know Schrodinger well enough to pass the judgement on him. Remember, this is all relative, I'm not exactly saying Imban does abuse his power... much... =]

I voted TM on #3, but only because it was in the present tense; otherwise I wouldn've voted for Alec, who *sadly* left Spiderweb.
