quote:That explains so much. Seriously. Thank you very much, Alorael, you probably just saved me from even more embarassment, Spiderweb style. Anyway. Welcome to Spiderweb, ..Blade, and watch out for the members. Like, in the way you would watch out for, say, bears, not for a younger brother or something. I am Sir David, obviously, a semi-longtime member who just returned after... I don't know, maybe 3 months of abscense due to overcrowding... which obviously did not help one bit. Grr. Anyway. Don't post too much, use correct grammar and spelling and punctuation and everything, no double posts, that sort of thing. Because it had to be said. EDIT: Also, while Motrax may be a good role model at times, now is not one of those times. Stealing Alorael's signature is generally not a good thing to do. Holy crap. I had no idea Spiderweb had gotten this crowded. What's going on? Before I left Spiderweb, there would have been... oh, I don't know, maybe 5 new posts, and probably one or two would be worthless and not readable anyway. I liked it that way. Now I might as well read a book on the subject (no pun or whatever intended), this topic grew so much in one day... =\... and the scary thing is, they're all useful posts... argh... when I was your age, I... oh, never mind, now I sound like an oldbie. Anyway. Yeah. I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but books are way cheaper. You buy the best books, and just borrow the rest from the library for free. Compared to electricity costs, and the cost for the laptop itself, you know... which also brings us to the subject of the environment, I know it takes electricity and everything for printing, but I think it's a bit more environment-friendly to read a book than a lighted screen, and all that. EDIT: If anyone cares, that's post 1900. I'm such a spammer. No, it's just you. People are allowed to say goodbye when they leave, or at least they were when I left. As to the newbie decapitation... yeah, that's about it. Except that Arctic probably came back before me, so it would make no sense for me to take his place while he was gone. -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL Les forum de la chance. I agree, but I'm not really sure why. But I do know that when the power goes out, books are nice. Also, until someone comes up with a surefire way to get rid of glare, I'd rather read words on a page than on a screen. And books and newspapers take a bit less energy than having the computer on every time you want to read something. ...OK, maybe I am sure why. I'll try to think of more. -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL Les forum de la chance. Actually, I'm thinking maybe you should check the facts first. I've heard plenty of times that someone likes someone else, or even is going out with someone else, and then find out later that that is not the case at all. If you can ascertain that he does like her, though, then I'd say Omelette's advice is best. -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL Les forum de la chance. Yeah, I'm back, officially this time. Polaris is slow (but awesome) and the CoA is... um... well, Wise Man, XYZ, NaCN and Zephyr are not a good combination. So I'm back. And if the number of new members keeps increasing at this rate, I'm going to have to help natural selection speed itself up a bit. 1. XYZ 2. Wise Man 3-10. Nothing has really changed really changed about my opinion of certain Despers, and one or two Spiderwebbers, since I left Spiderweb, so figure the rest out yourselves. Those two have reached a completely new dimension of Annoying Bastardness on the CoA, which places them above the others. TGM, if you'd like to make yourself #10, go ahead. But I didn't put you there. -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL Les forum de la chance. My history teacher this year told us that "Government is giving up freedoms in exchange for safety", although she used a different word for safety which I don't remember. Anyway, it is true, if you think about it; anarchy may be freedom, but it is most certainly not safe. Total surveillance may mean less freedom, but you're a lot more safe from crime. Not that I want my house constantly watched; I like to be alone, partially because I don't like being watched, and I'm always paranoid about video cameras in semi-public places. But really, we're better off with the government regulating things, as long as it's not everything. I think protecting children from innappropriate language is a very reasonable goal. -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL Les forum de la chance. I, for one, don't want Drakey dead. The chaos that would follow would be... chaotic. Or maybe not... but nevertheless, I don't think you'd get close enough to do the job.
