New computer or something?

Not exactly. It's a long story, but the short version is that as things stand, I can't use Classic mode without extreme inconvenience.

And just be happy that I can't find the place where you swore on your life and your honor in the community to finish a scenario in time to submit it in this contest, or else I would link it. Oh yes, I would. :P
It's been quite a while since I had any honour in this community.

Anyway, I can go one better:

quote:
s6oto: It has taken that long to purchase Windows and the Parallels Desktop System, then configure them properly in preparation for being able to play your opus.
thuryl: In case it wasn't obvious, I'm not going to have anything out in time for the contest. You can stop mocking me now. :P
s6oto: Dude, that's like Roger Ebert saying "In case you haven't noticed, I'm fat, so you can stop making fat jokes now."
Anyway, it's not too late for me to make a crappy utility scenario. :P

If you're using OS X 10.4.8, this is a known problem and there's not much you can do.

This is true, although Notus's version was a port based on Isaac's code.

I don't think this is the case. I played through most of one area with a dead PC and he was almost a full level behind another PC with an identical experience penalty by the time I got back to town, but he gradually caught up as I continued with the game. So I'm pretty sure experience is calculated separately for each character.

I cannot guess, as guessing requires not knowing the answer.

I name PCs after characters from RPs I've been in; these names are usually made up based on nothing in particular and occasionally made up based on something in particular.

NPCs get named after random people and organisations whose names sound cool; the protagonist in Roots was named after a physicist, and the antagonist was named after a real estate agency.

If you don't know what goes on, how do you know that you don't want to know it?

If you mean that you know, we don't, and you think we shouldn't, well...

If the filename ends in .exe (which, according to the original post, it does), then it's for Windows.

Anyway, if you could see it, it'd be a picture of a Spathi. Anyone who's played Star Control 2 will get the joke.

I think this must be one of those American/Commonwealth English distinctions, because everyone I know has always pronounced "larvae" with a long A at the end.

Um, I'm glad you like it, but it's not a Creator scenario.

I mean, I know we're both Australian and make scenarios with ludicrously hard combat and all, but we're different people.

Really? I'd be inclined to pronounce "nie" as "knee".

Oh, and Jewels, why did you write it out jew-el when it is clearly pronounced jool?
I've heard people pronounce it with two syllables, but only for comic effect.

Maybe it is; "ni" is still ambiguous. Nee or nye?
