ben, your parents don't let you play games with magic in them but they let you play Fallout 2? Something not quite right about that.

Solymr, I'm not saying the problem shouldn't be fixed if it can be. I'm just saying it's not necessarily a reason to keep Knowledge Brew out of your scenarios. After all, in theory, characters can get that many skill points by gaining hundreds of experience levels as well.

The bottom line is that you shouldn't be saving the graphics as jpegs in the first place -- it causes information to be lost unrecoverably, often blurring the image. Make them in a lossless format to start with, like GIF or PNG.

idea for scenario in Blades of Exile

Stareye's scenarios, "Spy's Quest" and "At the Gallows", take place on other continents. SQ is kind of frustrating, but AtG is a first-class scenario.

And this should be in the BoE forum.

I don't think the high-stat thing will be a problem; it'll take over 5000 skill points to train any stat to 100.

I simply meant that that was why they said Alec's penis rather than anyone else's. Note that the fine gentleman I replied to clearly doesn't know who Alec is.

Hey, that's a good point. Since we can now check any stat, it's possible to have all sorts of custom potions, and have the ability to make them depend on Potion Making skill.

ending in The Exile Trilogy

Uh, which game? This board is for discussion of all 3 games in the Exile series.

Exile 1 and 2 each have 3 victory objectives, all of which must be satisfied (in no particular order) for complete victory. Exile 3 has a very obvious ending -- in fact, when you win E3 the game ends and you can't play on.

This sometimes happens if you have your monitor set to the wrong colour depth, or switch frequently between BoA and other applications.

No problem, Demonslayer. My other betatesters have been quite capable so far, so I'll just take your name off the list. Thanks for applying anyway.

My IQ was about 200 when I was tested at the age of 10, although I've heard that very high IQs tend to decrease to saner levels with age.

I actually used damaging field spells a lot at low levels in the Exiles and BoE. Their damage doesn't depend on level or intelligence, covers a large area and persists for a long time. The catch, of course, is that you get much less experience if the opponent dies in the field at any point other than when you first lay it down.

I've sent out the beta version to everyone who gave me an email address. Thank you all for applying.

EDIT: If anyone has problems opening the attachment, email me and I'll send you a location to download the beta from.

Well, I've completed my first "real" scenario (Hunted! doesn't count), and now I'm looking for beta-testers. It's a short scenario, so it shouldn't take more than a few days for you to finish it; I may ask you to play through it a few times doing different things so that every part of the scenario gets tested. The scenario is rated R for drug references and adult themes, and is designed for a premade party which is provided with the scenario. If you're interested, please post here and give the following details:

Name you wish to be referred to by in the scenario's credits:
Email address:
AIM screenname (if any):
Platform (Mac/Windows):
BoE Playing Skill:
BoE Design Experience:
Betatesting Experience:

Thanks in advance.

Well, it's not a question about ASR. :P

Regarding the goblin, he's in a room on the north side. Look around more thoroughly.

No, you're supposed to be able to use the save file from Part 1, although some things don't quite work perfectly.
