Are you trying to deflect the beams from the two projectors just to the north of the machine? You can't do that. You have to use the beam from the projector some distance to the south of the machine, near where you found one of the mirrors. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Actually, if you try to gamble with the goblins using Sylak's Dice, they just attack you. The dice are good for winning 100 gold off the gambling soldiers in Hollow Hills, though. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! The OED says "fetus" is historically the correct spelling and the O was added in the 16th century, probably by doctors with little knowledge of Latin who were trying to sound educated. t djur don't try to type "desperance" with your eyes closed FBM, this version of UBB supports remotely linked avatars too. The problem with them was never bandwidth, it was loading time for users. Not that I saw anyone complain about that on the boards. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

I think the only disadvantage it has is that you can't unequip it. Unless you make the mistake of equipping it on a fighter, that's not really a problem. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

To elaborate, the dialogue has to be completely rewritten, terrain has to be edited (especially in towns), all monsters and items have to be replaced, and several nodes have to be manually rewritten as scripts. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! If Judaism has anything to do with ethnicity, then at most it's several different ethnicities. There are Russian Jews, Ashkenazi Jews and Ethiopian Jews, to name just a few groups, and they don't resemble each other in any particular way. Part of the reason defining Judaism is complicated is that it's a religion that (at least in its orthodox form) considers itself an ethnicity; if your mother is Jewish, then you by definition are Jewish also, regardless of your beliefs or actions. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! It's also that he's apparently taken down the outdated developer's log at pygmalion.desperance.net and turned it into a redirect to the Pyg forums. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

You won't be using every floor type outdoors, will you? And you can always tag something onto the script for things like lava and swamps to damage/poison the party as well. You can even have Pathfinder reduce the chance of harm occurring, just like BoA does. The best you can do is give out passwords in the previous scenario that can be entered in the next scenario, or just flat-out ask the party in dialogue or something what they did and didn't do in the previous scenario. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! When you do need them, though, they're in the west and the southwest; both are more or less due south of the machine that's keeping the Perfect Spirit trapped. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

quote:Why the method is "too ugly for what you're trying to create". You can have a different SDF value for every floor type if you need it. If you need even more specific control than that (what part of what floor), then it might be better to talk about what "feel" you want your spell to have (e.g. what sort of effects you want it to have ingame) rather than exactly how you envision it working from a technical perspective. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Boardhost has them too -- Zaloopa's boards moved to that for a while. The trouble is that the ITW-style threaded layout is annoying and inefficient for reading whole threads. Saying post titles on a layout like that are "useful" is like saying a wick is a useful thing to have on candles but not on lightbulbs. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! phpBB is apparently pretty bloated. Also, its admin options really, really suck, especially in regard to fine-tuning member privileges. I don't know if the latest version fixes these issues. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

If you're not getting any errors, are you sure the script is being called at all? I find that adding print_str calls in various places is an excellent debugging tool, since it tells you which parts of the script BoA is actually running and when. Well, it isn't really something clear-cut that can be proven or disproven. As you said in your original post, "more effective" is an ambiguous term with many meanings. Embryonic stem cell treatments have already been used in one trial to treat Parkinson's disease, and while there was some evidence of a benefit early on, there were serious side effects later in the trial. I'm not sure how much use adult stem cells have seen in therapy so far; both embryonic and adult stem cell research are still in the very early stages at the moment. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Moving to another board would either cost money, result in security holes or both. Jeff isn't willing to spend a cent more on the forums than he already does, and there have been hack attempts on the boards before, so neither is an option. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun!
