In the case of the first 90 graphics (hills, mountains, water, etc), you have to paint the entire scenario BEFORE you change the graphics. Otherwise the auto-change-terrain feature messes up. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

I think that gate's *meant* to shut, and there's a secret passage. You shouldn't have left town. Oh well. Isn't there a "Return Party to Start" option in the editor? Towns are built from the centre out. Plan yours the same way. Stick important buildings like the town hall and general store right in the middle of the town, and then make other buildings around them. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Well, what do you know. I was right. Martin's Concise Japanese Dictionary says "midori" means "green". -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

First thing you need is an account with a web hosting service. Go to www.geocities.com or somewhere similar and follow the instructions. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

I've seen the word Midori in a lot of places. I believe it's the Japanese word for "green". It's also an alcoholic beverage. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

The order you're meant to read them is the same order in which the sentences appear in a book on the previous floor. (It would have been nice if that book had been an item you could take with you. Oh well.) -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

I used to play FPSes, a long time ago, but I'm very left-brained; I suck at spatial reasoning and I'm not very good at multitasking. When technology improved and suddenly FPSes had you looking up, down and sideways while running through mazes in three dimensions, I basically gave up on the genre. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Eh. I've fixed a couple of other bugs anyway so I may as well release 1.1.1. EDIT: 1.1.1 released. Same download location as before. The changes are really trivial, so if you already have 1.1 you don't need to redownload. For the most part, I basically play only 2 genres of game: 2D platformers and RPGs. I expect very, very different things from each genre. When I'm not in the mood to read a lot of text, I play a platformer. When I'm not in the mood for real-time combat, I play an RPG. As far as I'm concerned, the RPG genre just doesn't do dungeon slogs in a very interesting way, and so they shouldn't be the main attraction. A reasonable amount of well-balanced tactical combat is one thing; plowing through hundreds of identical enemies in a way that tests only patience rather than skill is quite another, and one I can do without. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots version 1.1 uploaded. If you downloaded the old version, you should probably redownload; this is a significant change. (The old version is 100% playable, though.) The change only affects a point near the end, so if you're not at the final battle yet you don't need to start over. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! There was a small error in the savefile provided with the Windows version of Roots. A fixed version has been uploaded. If you already downloaded the previous version, the error can be fixed by using the Character Editor to remove Sleep Cloud from Dirac's spell list (or just by not casting Sleep Cloud). -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure!
