UV, 9VOPB and DOK are all still on the tables. It's just that they've moved to a different table. [ Saturday, July 02, 2005 19:10: Message edited by: Thuryl ] -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

No, because after this round there's going to be a second runoff vote between the top-scoring candidates. At the moment we're just voting for who gets to choose who's in the second election. Um, I'm not sure what you mean. They're not "projections", whatever that means, they're a different species -- at least as far as the game world is concerned. If you want to speculate as to Jeff's personal psychological reasons for having them wear clothes, that's a separate question. Yes, we know the description for Parry says that, but sometimes the descriptions lie. What we'd like is some kind of evidence of just how much damage it blocks. (From my experience, it definitely does seem to block some damage, though.) -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Er, since when is it possible for the player to do that except by entering combat mode? Outside of combat, the first party member leads and the rest of the party follows close behind regardless of which character is selected. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Well, if your problem is understanding what the mirrors do, then just push them around for a while and see the ways in which each of them reflects beams. Each of them reflects beams at a 90 degree angle, but some reflect west to north and east to south, while others reflect west to south and east to north. As you probably know already, there's one power source at the end of each room that you need to light by firing a beam into it. It can sometimes help to do the puzzles in combat mode so your PCs can work independently of each other. quote:Although all of the Slith PC graphics wear the loincloths, some of them also wear bits of cloth on their shoulders or around their necks. They certainly don't look as if they serve any useful function, which is what suggests to me that they may be ornamental or serve some other social function. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! It may be that Slith clothing serves to denote occupation or social status in some way. Note the Slith character portraits in BoA, for example; each slith wears a different, distinctive set of clothes, most of which appear to serve no significant practical purpose but each of which is quite recognisable. Well, in Exile, Slith graphics generally weren't depicted wearing anything. It's possible that they wear clothes mainly to keep warm -- they don't like the cold, and maybe some parts are more, er, sensitive to it than others. As for Nephilim, maybe they keep their wedding tackle in a little pouch when it's not in use; many other mammals do this. Or maybe it's just that Nephil culture doesn't object to them prancing about naked. Most of the ones I've seen don't even permit including the software in a for-profit shareware compilation without prior written permission, let alone selling it on its own. They've been ruled legally binding in court, too; there's a famous test case on the issue. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! There isn't any practical limit. I believe someone tested to see if there was a maximum once and managed to pump characters' levels into the thousands. Of course, monsters can't go above level 100, so it's pretty pointless to have a party of characters significantly above that level. The High Level Party Maker utility can raise your party to level 250, making you more powerful than you will ever need to be to do anything. There are a couple of ways to handle that, but the simplest way is to put it in the START_SCEN_STATE of your scenario script. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

I'm not a particularly sentimental person, and I make no apologies for that. It's not that I actively dislike music, but I'll only listen to it if I feel the need for background noise and there's nothing tolerable on TV or the radio. EDIT: quote:Uh, maybe a xylophone with reasonably large bars? Depends just how lacking your lack is. Any complex piece of music is going to require fairly precise timing even if you're just playing a triangle, so if your problem extends as far as not being able to hit an object at controlled time intervals then you're probably just out of luck. Or you could try a bugle; a bugle requires no manual dexterity at all, because all the work in controlling the note you're playing is done by your mouth instead. Not much call for bugles these days, though. [ Friday, July 01, 2005 03:25: Message edited by: Thuryl ] -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted!
