It's time for yet another one of my really general General posts, inspired by the filter discussions in previous topics.

What's the silliest word you've ever heard, in any language?

I've got a host of silly words in my head, so I'll just name some:

Strudel
Blarney
Newfangled
Whirlygig
Beanie
Tos (Spanish for cough)
Sed (Spanish for thirst)
Onomatopoeia
Tingly

You know, this is probably going to turn into a posting game. I feel kinda unclean for replying to it.

das schwein
die Luftwaffe (Lufthansa)
die Gurke
polizeimützethat they are almost all german, doesn't mean german is a funny language, just that they sound funny.

Actually, homo is Greek for "the same."

I think the word "food" sounds pretty zany. Also, "epididimus" is pretty goofy.

Mmmm... ok, I don't think I should say my first word.

"Stool" is always fun.
As is "la hamburguesa" - Spanish for "the hamburger".

It´s actually onomatopeya not onomatopoeia. And the silliest word I´ve heard is chichi, which is a newborn baby.

My bad, since he mentioned two spanish words, I thought he was talking about the spanish word Onomatopeya, rather the english translation for the same word.

Perhaps I should have phrased that "onomatopoeia is a correct spelling."

"From" is ridiculous if you say it over and over. Most words are.

"Habla" (speak) in Spanish is very obviously the root of "blah" if you repeat it. I'm sure it's from some Latin verb. Hablare?

"Trabajaba" (worked), pronounced "Trah-bah-hah-bah," is a great one. Somehow it sounds work-like as well as comical.

—Alorael, who is also a fan of lock. He shouldn't even decently be participating at all. This isn't even a glorified posting game, and it even lacks the relevance of Connections.
