The Silent Assassin recently responded to the housecall of a pair of Jehovah's Witnesses.
They left quite shortly, after noticing his collection of shrunken heads on the knicknack shelf.
Sometimes it is quite nice to have him around.

Jeff has already made it quite clear that he is not making any Vahnatai PCs.

And changing the plot depending on difficulty levels, though novel as it sounds, also sounds ridiculously overly complex to program.

You know wha I'd like to see in Avernum 5?
Something I didn't expect!

-Bump for Alo-

The Silent Assassin and I welcome you to our little community.

In order to make your stay most enjoyable, please divulge the whole of your sanity to the Fluffy Turtles (the pit is on the way to the door). Avoid most tentacles, as they have a way of making things unpleasant. And if anyone brings up "implants", no they don't make sense to the rest of us, either.

Congrats to Marl for top of the second page.

Ideally, you'd want to go with both.
The vahnatai would have to be done CG (though with a lot of effort, one might be able to pull them off with puppets).
Sliths and Nephils would be best a combination of animatronics, freakishly good costumes, and a little bit of CG effect to make up for the physical limitations of the costumes.
Most monsters can be easily pulled off with animatronics and simple puppetry; though the humanoids are better done with actors.

The first time I read the book version of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones (which was, incidentally, two week's before the movie's release), I read the descripion of the cloning aliens aloud to the Silent Assassin.
His response: "Sounds like Vahnatai to me. What're you reading?"
During the movie some weeks later, he made it known that he felt that Jeff had been ripped off.

Feature Length Animation Films in General

EDIT: My apologies for being a first-class idiot.

the only "Modern" animated disney films that I like are Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Emperor's New Groove (though admittedly, the last falls into the teenage girls area) becuase of the quality and effort put into them.
The only fully computer-animated films that I've liked are by Pixar, again because of quality. Ever since CG movies became a fad (especially for the 7-14 age demographic), I've generally avoided them.
Cars was pretty good.

Pinky and the Brain was the acme of non-film animation (no pun intended).

But for the most part, I've found that major studios have simply stopped regarding animation as an art form and are now simply using it as a cash cow.

The Silent Assassin walked away before I could ask him for a quote for this post.

Okay... how about instead of a movie we go to TV?
With some effort, one could turn an Avernum game into a miniseries (I say an Avernum only because of their linear plots).

Or, one could find some way to link between a few scenarios for BOE and BOA (the most obvious link being the party), and one would have an interesting basis for a TV series. Granted, you'd need a lot of deveolpment after that basis: reoccurring characters, a series goal, process message, etc.

Dragostea Din Tei - O-zone
Sleeping Sun - Nightwish
The Second Door- Manheim Steamroller
Something so Right - Paul Simon
The Color Green - Rich Mullins
Moondance - Nightwish
Bring Me to Life - Evenescence
Good Question - (I don't remember)
This is My Declaration - 4Him

For those of you who like color swatches, the Silent Assassin and I present a few of the graphics from his scenario (in progress ad infintam).

These are all customizations of original blades graphics, with exception of the archer, who was originally thrown together by NecrisOmega and then hue shifted and chair swapped by myself.

and this one is just a preview of the prototypes for a few of the characters from said scenario.
These, oddly enough, are also customizations of original blades graphics.

SMOKED?
No. Most of my extended family has at one time or another, and that combined with my pre-asthmatic condition put me off early.
GOTTEN DRUNK?
Does nyquil count?
STOLE YOUR FRIEND'S BF/GF?
nope.
PLAYED SPIN THE BOTTLE?
Yes.
GONE SWIMMING IN A WHITE T-SHIRT?
Yes.
BEEN TO A NUDE BEACH?
No. And don't plan to. Ugh.
BEEN CHEATED ON?
No.
BEEN WALKED IN ON WHILE YOU WERE DRESSING?
I was in a marching band. I got used to it pretty quickly.
BOUGHT SOMETHING WAY TOO EXPENSIVE?
Yes.
PLAYED STRIP ANYTHING?(and you know who you are, plz don't lie )
See the response about being walked in on while dressing.
PUNCHED YOUR PARENT?
Come very close a few times.
GONE TO SLEEP NAKED?
A few times.
RAN AWAY FROM HOME?
No.
WORE YOUR PAJAMAS IN PUBLIC?
High School Spirit week.
DANCED IN YOUR UNDERWEAR IN FRONT OF SOMEONE?
See above. again.
MADE UP A FAKE IDENTITY WHEN YOU MET SOMEONE?
A few times.
BEEN IN LOVE?
Yes. :D
GOTTEN A HICKEY?
If I had, I wouldn't be around to tell, as my mother made it quite clear as to how she would respond.
SLEPT IN A BED WITH A MEMBER OF THE SAME SEX /OPPOSITE SEX?
Yes, to both.
HATED THE WAY YOU LOOK?
All too often.
CRIED YOURSELF TO SLEEP?
A few times.
DONE SOMETHING YOU TOLD YOURSELF YOU WOULDN'T DO?
Too many times.
SUNG IN THE SHOWER?
Would you believe that I'm in the habit of taking a microcassette recorder with me, so I can later dictate the melodies that I come up with?
BEEN TOO SCARED TO WATCH A SCARY MOVIE ALONE?
A few times.

CRIED OVER SOMEONE?
Yeah.
SKIPPED SCHOOL?
I've occasionally cut classes.
GOTTEN EXPELLED FROM SCHOOL?
No.
DONE DRUGS?
No.
GOTTEN A TICKET?
Once.
I was coasting down the only hill in Ohio on a deserted highway at 10:00 at night, needing to travel 3 hours in the span of 2; concentrating more on the poorly lit road than my speedometer, and apparrently wizzing past a speed trap.
I'm still annoyed by it.
GOTTEN IN A CAR ACCIDENT?
No.
SCREAMED IN A LIBRARY?
Well... emphasized significance using exuberantly loud tones.
I was working behind the main desk, telling a woman that we would sue her if she didn't return the $500 worth of books that her son had taken out six months before.
ASKED SOMEONE OUT?
well... not for the first date.
BEEN ON A PLANE?
Many times.

Twice.
HAD SURGERY?
No
PLAYED A TERRIBLE PRANK ON SOMEONE?
I'm a coordinator... meaning that I come up with the ideas and workings, and have other people do the business.
MOCKED SOMEONE?
I was a jerk as an adolescent.
FAILED A CLASS ON PURPOSE?
I came very close, until the teacher figured out what I was doing, and gave me a C out of spite.
