Okay, I think I have stages 3 and 4. Arancaytar, how many errors did you run across in stage 4? I have four or five (including the big one you pointed out), and somehow I don't think they're mine. Dikiyoba. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

He doesn't belong in Kalandha, even as a visitor. He's so absurd and random that he completely changes the dynamics of the RP, and not in a positive way. If this were a humorous RP, I'd have no problem with him, but this a serious RP, and so James just doesn't work. Dikiyoba needs sleep, and will have to continue the rest of this argument later. Originally by Lone Flame: quote:Okay, fine. I'll worry about it later. But that's not what is sounded like, given how much that you've played it up both in IC and OOC. quote:I'm with Ephesos on this one; you dug your own grave. This is not D&D. I don't even know why you brought D&D characters in. After all, it's a whole lot easier to create a new character tailored to the setting than to try and drastically modify an existing one that doesn't belong. quote:Because that's no fun to write, no fun to read, and makes no sense storywise. Why? I might do one or two stages, but if I have to do them all, I'm not even going to bother. I mean, I get that you want to change your name, but why else? Someone will give you a name eventually. May I suggest that, since you don't seem to think you can design a BoA scenario, that you turn it into an actual story and not a script. Don't treat it like a BoA scenario. Treat it exactly like a story. Describe the setting a bit, give your characters personality and motivations instead of set skills. Who are they? Why are they together? Why are they going to the fort? What is the fort there for? Who is this commander? What is he like? Why does the commander know there is something out there? What is the character's reactions to seeing the muffins for the first time? Is this world so bizarre that muffins are normal, or is this a freak event? Dikiyoba. Originally by Lone Flame: quote:Your "master plan" sounds a bit too much like the rakshasi that TM let loose in the last RP that tore it apart. I think we're doing better here, but look how long our OOC thread is compared to our IC. We're not ready for an uber-menace yet. I know you've been building up to it, but your god is so crazy, it's not unreasonable for him to be mistaken. We said no, so deal with it. A bad gift is worse than no gift at all. And your concessions (and you too Lord Safey) don't count if you do almost exactly the same thing you were complaining about in just a slightly different way. When we were objecting to Yumi being too powerful, we meant to leave her out entirely, not make her just-slightly-less-powerful. Ten shades able to pollute every well in the area in a short amount of time is almost as bad as forty shades able to pollute every well in the area in a short amount of time. Do you understand what Dikiyoba is trying to say here? Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Probably because people keep reading books. :P That said, I haven't read anything for fun for a long time, with finals and packing and whatnot. The last thing I read was The Humanure Handbook for an ecodesign class. Sawdust toilets, anyone? OOC: Part 2 of the time-bending. --- Fourty and Cassius stared at each other for a moment. Then Cassius laughed. "So you came. I thought you would. You're a decent fellow. I must thank Kuberr and his spies, for telling me all about you. I never would have known otherwise..." Cassius trailed off and looked thoughtful for a while. When he spoke again, his voice was like the crack of a whip. "So. There are things going on you don't understand. Crazed new gods, demons, and other madness. I declared Mannik mine, and promised to keep it neutral in the events unfolding elsewhere. Harath is gone, vampire clans have moved in, the political structure is crumbling. It is mine now. And my first act to keep this neutral is to expel you. Take your Forsaken and get out of here." "But..." Cassius moved so that he was just inches away from Fourty. "You don't want me as your enemy." Fourty stumbled back. Cassius was much more powerful than he was, and seemed to be having as bad a day as Fourty was. "No... no, I don't. I'll... I..." Fourty turned away and looked down at the courtyard. The holy army was assembling. Fourty's hands clenched so tightly that his nails dug painfully into his palms. It wasn't fair; it wasn't right. Fourty could save a few hundred, but only by leaving thousands more to suffer. But the alternative seemed to be to save no one. Fourty sighed. "Fine. I'll leave Mannik to you. I'll take the Forsaken, possibly to the Haunted Forest, possibly elsewhere. But any refugees that flee Mannik or the villages are mine." Cassius snorted. "Fine. Now about your little friend..." Cassius gestured at the courtyard. Vizoth was being dragged off by two soldiers, struggling and yelling the whole way. "Fourty! Fourty!" His cry was mental too, and now that Fourty was aware of it, it hurt. Fourty, please! Help me! I'm here! Fourty responded so forcefully that Vizoth passed out. "Oh, shoot. Ah well." Fourty leapt down off the roof, indetectable to all but the most sensitive mortals, and caught up to the soldiers. "What do you think happened to him?" one asked. "Who cares? Come on, carry your half of the weight," the other said. Fourty ducked between them and supported the unconscious Vizoth. He had never transported anything as large as a person before, and he had only one chance to get it right. He had to transport Vizoth away without transporting the guards with him. He closed his eyes and concentrated. "Ah, that's better," the second guard said. "But... but I haven't done anything different," the first one said. "What do you--hey!" The guards were shocked when Vizoth just disappeared. Fourty, carrying Vizoth, appeared at the edge of the Haunted Forest. The stress of recent events, the strain of transporting, and the wave of emotions from whatever was in the forest that pressed on his mind instantly was too much. Fourty collapsed. --- Dikiyoba. You will find recipes for perfect fyora scales and other items scattered throughout the game (or the walkthrough). I've actually never used one, so I don't know. Also, you don't have to make a new topic for every question. Ask several questions in your first post, or post a new question once your old one has been answered. Edit: Would one of the mods put a link to the walkthrough in the forum header, please? Dikiyoba would much appreciate it. May I suggest making a habit of checking our profile for messages on a regular basis, instead of constantly making announcements in this thread? Also, Safey, you're becoming too powerful again. A drought almost instantly? No. Forty shades in a day, with the ability to poison every water source they come across? No. The ability to do this in Kirwood, which is literally swarming with deities? No. Calm down, develop the story slower. Dikiyoba is assuming Rakshasi has no objections to what Dikiyoba is attempting to do and will post whenever Dikiyoba has the time to do so. It doesn't sound like simulacrum is trying to kill Eliza but help her. If that is the case, once you fix the machinery, go into combat mode. When you see a pylon start to spark and pop (only one will do so at a time), run as far away from it as possible and you should be fine. If you can leave your creations outside of the pylons, do so to make things simpler. Dikiyoba thinks that's how things work. Dikiyoba has only done it once, though, and so may be misremembering. The first map is only half of the game. Once you go north and deal with Moseh, you get access to the second map (and half of the game). Talk to Alwan and Pirik (sp?) to get the quests regarding Moseh. If Turabi is too difficult for you now, leave and come back later when you are stronger. [Edit: No, you cannot ever get past them into Shaper lands.) The second half of the game should give you access to stronger creations over time. Creating drayks and drakons can only be learned from canisters. Wingbolts and other creations can be learned, if you are friendly to the Shapers. Dikiyoba. Originally by Lone Flame: quote:Argh, no. Why must all RPs involve some sort of ridiculously overpowered threat? We've already had several improbable god-threatening events. IC reasons why deities wouldn't use that power very often is because those they grant divinity to don't necessarily stay loyal to them and because every other deity would immediately attack the out-of-control god or goddess. OOC reasons why no one can do that is that it would wreck the RP and every other participant would immediately attack the out-of control player, both in and out of context. Good enough for you?
