I'm sure there is a subset of the population that is extremely good at picking out good items at ridiculously low prices at garage sales and then bragging about them. The potential is there, so I voted for garage. Of course, Dikiyoba is also sure there exists a subset at the population that buys a bunch of junk at garage sales thinking they are good deals and then brags about them as well. As long as they aren't designing art gallerys, though, they're pretty harmless. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

If you can put up with fewer features (or intend to buy and play the entire series as time goes on), then I highly reccommend G1. It has the best atmosphere and most intriguing plot. My next recommendation is G4. Better interface, better combat, and the most PC builds and shapable creations of any game. My one complaint is that, in my opinion, the game bogs down in the fourth chapter (five chapters in total). G2 isn't bad. Four factions to choose from, or you can choose none at all. The engine is a step up from G1 and has fun features like the ability to create artifacts and numerous creations that can join you. The world you explore feels big. G3 I don't know much about, since I didn't like the demo enough to buy it; it's the same old story as the first two, but with fewer factions and less freedom to do whatever. However, it was well recieved by people who hadn't played the first two games, so it's not bad as a stand-alone game. Each game builds upon the previous ones but is designed to be played by a newcomer to the series. You'll get the condensed version of previous games in the current game, but miss out on the exact details and reoccuring characters. If you hate ruined surprises, play them in order. G1-G3 are played as a Shaper, while G4 is played as a rebel. Dikiyoba. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

If your goal is to include everything (or at least the important everythings) then you need to include, well, everything. With whatever description is appropriate. Dikiyoba. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

That generator isn't bad at all. It's a pity it doesn't come up with a different acronym every time, though. Hooray! It's much improved. Dikiyoba can't report Whisper's death to the captain, though, and ordering a meal from the innkeeper just results in a blank screen. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

G3 didn't place too badly, all things considered. G4 placed surprisingly low, but it didn't score much lower. Dikiyoba. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Originally by Synergy: quote:Even in five years, we're still not going to have all the information, or all be in agreement. We will likely never have all the information or all be in agreement. Sooner or later, we're going to have to act (wisely) on the information we do have. That time might as well be now; in this situation, acting on incorrect information does less harm than not acting on correct information. If we find out in five years that CO2 has nothing to do with global warming, we can still adapt any new technology or altered behaviors to other concerns. If we find out in five years that CO2 definitely has an impact on global warming, we've just squandered five years in which to reduce it. Also, focusing on reducing CO2 emissions doesn't mean we can't also do our best to reduce the impacts of global warming. We have the resources to do both. We should treat both the most likely causes and the symptoms. Dikiyoba. -------------------- Episode 4: Spiderweb Reloaded Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Two dogs, one cat, a guinea pig, and some goldfish. I'd say that one of the dogs (a 14 year-old, half-blind "gray Labrador" who has survived being hit by cars twice) is on her last legs, but she collapsed in February and earlier this month and recovered each time, so who knows how many sets of legs she has left. Storyline to get me interested enough to try the game, gameplay to keep me entertained enough to keep playing. Dikiyoba does need some graphics in a game, but they don't have to be fancy, just functional enough that Dikiyoba can tell what something is at a glance. Music, combat, and moral dilemmas don't have to be present, but they can't be terrible if they are. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

quote:No one has to seach, because you talk about yourself constantly. Stop doing that, and topics will stop devolving into a muddle of Muffin-mockery. Back on topic, Dikiyoba is probably impressed more often by non-fiction than fiction, and typically only a chapter or line rather than the entire book. An even thousand milestone is for wimps! Real posters go for numbers like 1234 or 2222! Dikiyoba will of course make an exception to that rule for anyone who has over twice as many posts as Dikiyoba, can eat 80 cookies in one sitting, and has the power to edit Dikiyoba's posts.
