As far as Dikiyoba knows, this holds true for A1 through A3 but is not true for BoA. In BoA, many doors have a Stuff Done Flag that remembers that they have been unlocked before.

Probably not. Some of the game prices have been lowered recently and Dikiyoba thinks that as close as it's going to get.

Dikiyoba believes that constant mispellings, excessive abbreviation, and "Internet speak" provokes the fluffy turtles into a feeding frenzy. On that note, welcome to Spiderweb Software. Leave your sanity at the door.

Dikiyoba just plays most the game unaligned and neutral. Then Dikiyoba joins one of the sects at the very end to gain access to a few more quests, items, and power.

Pass an ouch! over here for me as well. That's what I get for thinking that the picture and the "Slime Beast" comment were somehow related.

Dikiyoba is fairly certain that MagmaDragoon is a guy. Oh, and congratulations on passing 2000 posts, Thralni.

Edit: Somehow managed to hit "post reply" with only a half-typed post.

But they are called genes in Geneforge. For me, the disconnection comes because my character hears them called "genes" when talking to people and looks through the viewing device, but doesn't ever connect the word with the object.

Dikiyoba is sure that a highly intelligent Shaper ought to make the connection that tiny scrolls = genes.

You're ready for Avernum 2, Old Scratch.

Dikiyoba doesn't steal much in A2. Just everything from Harston and Rentar-Ihrno and quest items.

I got a title change. I went from Erudite to Veteran. That's enough for me.

Dikiyoba can accept that explanation. Unfortunately, Freewebs isn't cooperating at the moment, so it will have to wait.

From what I understood, Shapers are at least a different ethnicity from other humans,
Probably not. The games always start you off as an apprentice who has only been recently selected to become a Shaper after years of hard work and study. To me, that makes it sound like Shapers and everyone else (besides the Sholai) are the same race. Besides, there don't seem to be enough married or dating Shapers (or young Shaper children, for that matter) to maintain themselves as a distinct race.

Originally by The Ripper:

If the geneforge works just like the canisters, then it reacts differently with different people, but there's no evidence that how "moral" they are has any effect on this.
Dikiyoba thinks that perhaps retaining self-control is less about morals and more about willpower. Trajkov had just enough willpower to remain himself after using the Geneforge and also had enough morals to make a decent leader, but the two may or may not be related.

In which case, it seems unlikely that anyone from these boards would go anywhere remotely near E3.

At least, Dikiyoba's not going. Not only is it too risky, but it's too far away for Dikiyoba to traipse.

First of all, his name is Trajkov of the Sholai.

Second, yes, he probably was a good type of person before he found the canisters and the Geneforge. How you deal with Trajkov relates to your ethics.

Dikiyoba was disappointed the first time Dikiyoba's character used the Geneforge. Dikiyoba made the mistake of clearing out every other section beforehand so there was no one left to pummel with the new-found abilities.

Someone in Rising will eventually ask for it. I don't think you need to be allied to the Barzites to get it.

Unfortunately, Dikiyoba can't remember who the person is at the moment.

Some fantasy novels that rely heavily on old, forgotten enemies and old, forgotten ways to deal with them have to do so because if were a current enemy, people would know how to deal with it and the plot wouldn't be nearly so desperate or exciting.

As far as Tolkien goes, well, he was something of a historian, wasn't he?

These topics are good for Dikiyoba. They give Dikiyoba ideas for what not to do when Dikiyoba writes.

Yes, but how is Dikiyoba like a bowl of tapioca? It's not apparently obvious and not inherently ridiculous, so it requires a more detailed explanation.

Now that is a real...um...masterpiece. :P

Some of the names and graphics fit each other better than others, of course. And some of the most unexpected combinations are the funniest.

There seems to be a dearth of reptilian characters, so Dikiyoba is quite happy with the avatar Dikiyoba ended up with.

Hi. Welcome to Spiderweb Software. Leave your sanity at the door for the fluffy turtles to feast upon. (Although it sounds like you already have done so.)

Dikiyoba hopes the so-called prophecy has nothing to do with musical instruments.

Once. I had no clue what I was doing and I kept getting lost. But nobody expected me to appear in all the strange places I appeared, so once I figured out how to shoot, I was actually somewhat successful.

Dikiyoba didn't really enjoy playing the game. All entertainment came from hearing people yell, "What!? Who just killed me and where did they come from?"

It depends on the context. If a similar topic appears tomorrow or next week, I say go ahead and lock it.

However, if a similar topic were to appear in, say, three weeks, Dikiyoba wants the chance to say "NO!" again.
