You do know that a lot of the editors are simply edited scripts, right?

And were you altering the big geneforge data script, or one of the little zone ones?

Good work, MagmaDragoon. Spiderweb always needs more comparisons between its members and something else. :P

Even though Dikiyoba doesn't look anything like that, wouldn't want to look like that, and doesn't have any sort of weapon, Dikiyoba supposes that Dikiyoba should take it as a compliment.

I suppose I'm fascinated with fire. I particularily enjoy playing with candles and campfires, but nothing ever really large or dangerous.

Dikiyoba doesn't like fire on beaches, however, ever since Dikiyoba stepped directly into a pile of hot coals that someone had thrown just enough sand on top of to disguise it.

I just realized that I've heard Arancaytar's memorable quote play out in real life.

Person 1: "Hey, gimme your lunch."
Person 2: "No. It's mine."
Person 1: "You're gay."
A short pause.
Person 1: "C'mon, just gimme your lunch."

Well, if you have the patience and skill to pull stunts like that, then I can see why you enjoy the game.

It's been so long since I've played the game that I can't remember exactly what the changes are. But I don't think the stats were maxed out at 30, so I voted for the disappointed option.

The real disappointment of Geneforge 1, though, is that by the time Dikiyoba used the Geneforge, all the other zones are clear, so there was nowhere for Dikiyoba to test out the newfound power of the character.

Each creation type has a set message, rather than the number of times you do it. And, yes, it is a waste of time, but some time is meant to be wasted.

What, exactly, do you have to do in G3 to get the secret messages? Dikiyoba hasn't found them yet.

Relax, Bomber. You don't need to have every other post in the topic. It's not a problem yet, but it can become an issue.

Dikiyoba doesn't play Runescape or any other online games. Well, maybe a few free, short online games now and then, but they're generally terrible. Dikiyoba would rather play offline games, since Internet connection is sometimes difficult to come by at Dikiyoba's house.

Edit: Typo.

So that's where all the children are. Obviously, Dikiyoba needs to slow down and explore those non-zoned areas a little more. But all those protesters chanting "Down with Shapers! Down with Shapers!" makes Dikiyoba want to get through there as soon as possible. That, and Dikiyoba never has enough money to buy souvenirs.

I'm currently reading through (well, I'm skimming through as often as I'm reading) all the old threads, from the lowest forum up.

Admittedly, Dikiyoba hasn't used the PPP archives much, because none of the forums so far have been purged since the archive's creation, but when Dikiyoba gets to the General Forum, it will be necessary.

Dikiyoba would like to have these banners, only shrunken down, together on one line, and as links directly to the scripts.

Who is this Dikyoba that you speak of, and what kind of stories does Dikyoba write? And is Dikyoba related to Diknyoba?

Which brings Dikiyoba to #88.

88. Spell names right.

Hmm...I feel almost guilty for bringing this up again, but it isn't that old.

Yay, fifth! This is the first time I've had an odd position on the top ten list.

And happy late birthday, Arancaytar. Dikiyoba forgot to give these to you on Polaris:

Hey, if Dikiyoba can kill off every Taker in the game in G1 and the end game text still talks about how the Shapers crushed the remaining Takers, then surely Dikiyoba can use Dikiyoba's imagination a little.

Dikiyoba usually casts terror on the hostile non-combatants, like the serviles and spies in Barzite lands. It usually kills them, but Dikiyoba can pretend that they just ran off.

Geneforge series board traffic: no long tail? in Geneforge Series

Activity on a specific board differs from month to month. It wasn't too long ago that the Geneforge Series was very active. And the Geneforge Series has a lot more posts and topics than the Avernum Trilogy.

Dikiyoba actually feels that the Geneforge Series is more active. Maybe Dikiyoba is just more active here than there.

I understand that group haste is a very powerful spell, but rather than eliminating it altogether (which doesn't make a lot of sense from the perspective of the storyline, imho) perhaps it could be limited to two squares away, or the spell points required could be raised (e. g. costing 6 points for each character hasted).

Dikiyoba would like to go back to the days when spell levels, or at least spell level 3, actually meant something. Group hasting once the haste spell reaches level 3 makes sense, since it is convenient to use but requires effort to attain. Or at least, it should work that way.

Doing serious role-playing so that Avernum is being saved by four fluffy kittens with a bizarre fascination for clay pots - priceless.

Well, there are lots of Geneforge players, like Delicious Vlish and Student of Trinity. But none of them were in the scene at the time, and it wouldn't have made sense to have them enter. That's what I meant by shortage.

And for those of you who don't play Geneforge, Dikiyoba presents a really bad picture of a ice-breathing dinosaur:
