I started with it with the idea: "I'm going to do soemthing new!" No idea what to do, no clear picture of a story to make, no nothing. I just started reading a bit of the BoA editor manual and plunged into making my first town. And there I am: 34 towns later (of which about 20 completed, also scripting) and 9 almost completed outdoor sections and I'm still not done. Its really fun and a nice thing to do in your spare time. I really enjoiy evry moment of it, even the scripting! In the beginning even calls like get_flag and set_flag and certainly the "if" calls really look terrible, but you'll get over it. And then POOF! You have a scenario! :) -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Give us your drek! I wondered how far you guys were in the test process. Next week I've my first vacation of the year ( :D ), so I would be able yo test it and quite quickly send the report. is there any need still, or not? Also, if you would still like me to test it for you and you made some major corrections (or even small corrections), could you send it to me again, please? -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. I haven't played it, so I don't know what its all about. I just would like to point out, that I HATE the name Galactic core. Why not "chicken core", or "Filberto Petinato", or maybe, yes! That's it! Why not "Sombrero Cookie-pot"! -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Give us your drek! 1) male 2) not at all 3) neither 4) Oh gosh... I don't think I would have the guts to even touch the switch. I coulf flip it and save five people, put I would murder one. The other way around is just the same, though I would kill five people and save one. I really wouldn't know what to do. 5) the same answer as 4 6) the same answer as 4 I just wanted to say reply to an earleir post, it was also quoted on the first post of this page. Yes, it may be the next Hitler, but also the next famous rock-singer or the man who restores world peace. You just don't know. Yes, I was also dissappointd to see Cain died befor i could kill him :) . I was so looking forward to the moment Filbert, filled with the intense fury of himself AND his father, would try to slay the half demonic Cain. Can't we do as if the previous posts weren't posted and continue from thpoint Filbert awoke with his father posseing him or something? I really have nothing against the Poles, but this joke is really funny: How do Poles change a light bulb? Five: One stands on a chair and hold the light bulb, and the rest hold the chair at the legs and start turning the chair around. There's another one like this: How do feminists change a light bulb? One stands on a chair and replaces the light bulb, while an other yells at the other "ITS NOT FUNNY!" -------------------- Thralni's almighty Avernum pages: My webpage, containing scenario's and graphics made by me (And maybe someday the homepage of the almighty chicken gods). Yes, you're right, kelandon. I indeed explored everything to the last detail.I did this mostly though to see how you made everything and how it all looks like in the game. I looked at it many times in the editor, so now I wanted to see what it all did in reality. No matter what the difficulty was, I still am amazed by the cutscenes, and this really was the first time I was actually feeling something when the steel doors opened. This ussually didn't happen with other scenario's, were I mostly saw the message "and all was well" after you defeat the bad guy. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. No, my party level isn't that high. I entered the scenario with a level 33 party, but by the time I got to NK, I was a level 45 party. In the beginning of the fight, I got help from the imps, after that I got help from the ghosts, and then I also had Pheadra and Ithik, who didn't do much. I didn't use any potion, except a healing elixer and healing potion. Also, I didn't use the walkthrough, and still found it quite easy to slay him. It were more the other demons and haakais of whom I was scared, by as I managed to kill them quite quickly, they didn't stand in my way. I just remembered I used mostly archery and repel spirit, and the slith ghosts and Phaedra charged at him with melee. I have here another Jewish joke, which I didn't find all that good, but here ya go anyway: A man goes to the rabbi. "Rabbi, maybe I'm getting paranoid, but I think my wife is trying to poison me. Could you please speak to her and maybe find out her plans?" The Rabbi goes to his wife and comes back after several hours. Then he says: "I have talked tp your wife... for THREE HOURS!!! My advice: TAKE THE POISON!!" Okay, the spell you need is indeed Ritual of sanctification. Its indeed in Formello, and yes, there's a barrier, although I don't think you needed to pass it. In any way, here's how to get to the spell: Go to the west wall of Formello. Go outside the city walls, but don't leave town. No search all of the west wall. Eventually, you'lle come to a secret door. Now, I think you should walk diagonally either left or right, and you'll come into a room filled with bookshelves. Search them to find the ritual. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Give us your drek! I just defeated nolagh-Kar, but i was a bit dissappointed by the fight. I had gone through the crypt in bashikava (was it ancient Bashikava?) and defeated the Slith Avatar, the ghosts and destroyed about two or three altars. And then you get the see the evil boss, but I managed to kill him without even being hurt! Probably because of all the help I received from imps and ghosts and sliths. I the rest of the scenario as hard or less hard then Nolagh-Kar? EDIT: I forgot to say I reallt like the puzzles in his fortress, although they were a bit simple, but I like the way they were made. There are five slime pools. The last one is in this long corridor full of purple slimes. the coridsor is a dead end and you come to a sign saing "HA HA" or something. Is this were you are? if yes, walk all the way to the beginning of this cave and start searching the EAST wall. Search it and while searching go all the way to the end of the cave, until you find a secret entrance. Now here's the last pool. destroy it and then find an other corridor to get to the main "mother" slime to destroy it. After that, search the NORTH wall of were this slime sits, and you'll find a rune of some sorts. Then head back to fort Emergence. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Give us your drek! My question was directed to you, Muji, but since you answered it, I wouldn't get annoyed :) . The reason I wanted to know this, is that most questions that I saw here about lag, were mostly by people who used OS X. I wondered if it has to do with OS X, although it should be OS X native. I wonder, have you maybe tried to email Jeff? He may be of better help... -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. I myself would always add them, although it maybe isn't necessary, just for the sake of my own understanding of it all. If I wouldn't do it, I would probably get confused to no end. However, now that I looked in the docs, I understand why it isn't necessary. I'll still put those breaks in, though. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Give us your drek!
