quote:I was already planning to make such a thing in the early days of the scenario I'm making now. i was even thinking to stop working on the scenario I'm busy working on now, but as I first wanted to understand the engine I didn't stop with it. Anyway, what I'm planning as a next scenario, is where you live in a city in Avernum (an existing one like Formello, for example), but.... okay, somebody here who would want to know the story (I haven't thought of all details yet, though)? If somebody would want to know, I'll post it here. Dareva: if that's what you like, long scenario's, then there is a slim chance you might like my scenario, as its five times bigger then I actually planned it to be, with two times more towns. I'd love to join and share everything I encountered while playing and designing, but what is the time (GMT) that it will be held? (I'm don't really know where EST is, you see) [ Friday, December 30, 2005 23:29: Message edited by: Thralni, chicken god prophet ] -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. I actually never liked flutes, espacially recoders. I just don't like their sound. Sorry, Alorael, but that's how it is. that's why i hardly give them anything to play in my compositions. there are only three instruments i really, really like: Trombone (of course), Horn and bassoon. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. quote:Good god! I wouldn't thought you would come back! yay! Finnaly! its nice to see you back M...A...R...K... Okay, I agree. That letter thing was stupid, and the amount of graemins in your post is also quite, enormous *coughs*. You know, chickenman, you really missed out on the fortunetelling bussines I had. i think YOU of ALL poeple would have liked it, considering you are a sort of chickenfanatic like me (But I introduced you :) ). Anyway, i remember that time we started experimenting together. I don't think we blew anything up, but we did manage to make some nice colors. One I threw away. EDIT: And yes, you're right, Spring. Its indeed still in my sig. maybe one day Olga will come back, but for now i made a "olga's fortune teller kiosk" program on my calculator (Ti-84+). Yes, he is. I just sent him an email (yesterday, actually), and I already got an email back. That's the part I DO like about Jeff, he does give new registration codes when really needed. What I don't like however, is that he isn't really keen on helping people with their problems. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. I once used Simpletext, but stopped using it as it was to unclear. tabs didn't show up right and it was a pain to use. Therefor i decided to use "BBedit lite 6.1." The best thing is, that 6.1, as its an outdated version, can be downloaded for free. You ca do that on any free software download website, like twucows (or something like that, i can't really remember what it was called). Try that. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Give us your drek! No, i think you really have to put the starting bracket directly after the while statement, so like this: while (your statement here) { I'm not for 100% sure of this, but I'm quite certain it has to be done this way. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Thanks kelandon. i got an email back from jeff about the graphics, saying to download the most recent version, and see what happens next. i did that, thereby deleting all my save files. that's not so bad, actually, thanks to kelandon's high party maker. otherwise I would have been mad, yes. Anyway, i installed it, but the game was immediatly registered. is this normal? EDIT: oh yes, when i tried to install the update to version 1.1.2, the updater said it couldn't install, because the graphics and some other files were corrupt. Could this have been the reason for my graphics not to work? OOC: Right. moving mountain. Sounds as an excellent time to get Filbert moving again. IC: He started following the trail of starnge glowing ink. After a few steps, the tunnel started to rumble, shake. However, this time it seemed worse than normal, as if not one, but many passages had closed off, or just opened. Filbert looked around in bewilderment. walk! You are almost there! the voice in his mind shouted. Filbert didn't want to make him angry again and decided it would be best to walk on. He followed the trail, until he came to another crossing of the two tunnels. left or right. The one was more carefully cut, the other one drk and cold, but with the trail of inc! His decidion was obvious. the trail of inc would be more important then just some stairs. he kept following it, until the tunnel ended. It was a bizar site. To the right of him there was a big shiny wall, and the cavefloor was covered with bits of fur, bones, and other rotting stuff. the wall, however, intruiged him. He went to it and tried to touch it. he did. the stuff was cold, like metal, or was it just ice? However, upon his touch, the metal seemed to melt. Slowly by slowly he melted away a nice round whole. He stuch his arm through the whole and felt the outside, cold, world. he pulled his hand back, and the metal filled up the whole, until there was no such thing anymore as a whole. it closed off. After blank stares at the wall and his apparently warm hands, he went back. They weren't here, that's for sure. Where were they then? had they tricked him? Did they go the same path as he had went, only to be locked up in that dead-end cave? he didn't know. he decided to head back and clime up the stairs. When he came to the crossing with the staircase-tunnel, he saw three shadows comeing to him. As they were flying, Filbert didn't worry. When they landed, he knew he had it right, they were Uruk-Hai's. "The stairs. Follow me." The four of them slowly climed up the stairs. It was quite a walk, or flight. whenever Filbert thought he was finnaly there, the stairs continued. Higher and higher up the mountain. the stairs stopped at a certain moment. The tunnel continued for a short while, and ended in another tunnel. he heard voices. "Stay here! I'm gonna see what's there!" he whispered to the Uruk-Hai's, who landed and stood still. His sword prepared, Filbert moved close to the crossing of the tunnels. there was nobody there. was he tricked again? The he heard them again: voices. They were distant. he motioned the Uruk-Hai's to come closer. they walked, slowly, and silently, to Filbert. the four of them stayed there, and then went into the other tunnel. "Whatever you do, do it silently, on my command!" The uruk-Hai's nodded and followed him silently. -------------------- Thralni's almighty Avernum pages: My webpage, containing scenario's and graphics made by me (And maybe someday the homepage of the almighty chicken gods). Yes, i was thinking about that too. Isn't it better to use take_all_item? I already looked in bahs's scenario script, but couldn't find it. Anyway, now kelandon told me where to look, I'll figure it out soon enough. I looked at change_custom_abil_uses, but i thought it was only for changing how many times the party can still use the thing. i suppose it will work lime this (tell me if I'm wrong): In the beginning, you set it to 0, so the party can't use it. later, you set it to a large number, say 200, so the party cn use it all the time. Am i right? -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Give us your drek! I wrote tons of music pieces, and I'm now composing my "first symphony." Movement one is finished, i'm bussy with movement two. if anybody wants to hear it , I'll have to send it by email. You'll need Finale printmusic to play it. just go to www.finalemusic.com and search for "printmusic 2006 download." -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape.
