It is hard to believe that any relatively lucid person couldn't tell the difference between sleeping and dead, but for the sake of argument I'll assume they can't. The ten people that are in charge and deceived the trained killers are guilty of premeditated murder. As for the trained killers: I agree with Kuc in that the knowledge of what they did would be punishment enough for anyone that was truly unaware of their actions. -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

No, the details would not change what I said, but if you ask a question of ethics people need to know the specifics of the situation. If the people the random group are destined to die whether you take the money or not I wouldn't feel as bad about taking the money, but I would still be bothered by taking money that is directly a result of people dying. As Icshi said, where does the money come from?... If the money comes from anyone on earth you would be a hit man, and if the money falls from the sky you would be a glorified hit man. Does the money come from the people that died? That would be slightly more disturbing. -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

It is a crime, but in a different sense. That is, if the person is mentally impaired in such a way that they are unable to comprehend their actions. That would also include very young children; say, a three-year-old inadvertently killed a sibling. Most people have some concept of what death is. Even my three-year-old nephew kind of understood when he saw that one of my rats had died. If the person that caused another person do die honestly was unable to comprehend what they did was wrong and why they shouldn't do that, they should not be on their own in society. If I could only buy one game it would be BoE, and close second would be BoA. I like working with both BoX editors, but the number of scenarios available for BoE makes it a better choice, IMO. BoA has a lot of potential though, as new designers will likely put their effort into making scenarios for it before considering BoE. -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

I usually use the keyboard in Exile/Avernum and rarely use the mouse, but I like having the option. A combination of Exile/Avernum/GF movement would be interesting. -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

Congratulations, Kel! Congratulations to TM as well, and to everyone that entered. I thought it would be between Bahssikava and Mad Ambition, as both are exceptional scenarios. [ Friday, September 02, 2005 22:57: Message edited by: Zaiu ] Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

None of my friends knew about SW before I told them about it, and most of them aren't into RPGs. I'm the only girl that likes computer games, and only one of my friends likes RPGs as much as I do. -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

"You're beautiful" is very nice to hear now and then, as is sweet, cute, pretty, nice... It's only unsettling when the person is too enthusiastic, or says it several times within a relatively small amount of time. -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

Apprentice and Canned a both pretty bad titles, but Apprentice is far less permanent. I can also think of a person or two who have been canned a couple times. Situation A) Yes, Mr A's family should have the right to get the painting back, as it was the property of their relative. Though Mr C did not take the painting, it doesn't belong to him. Situation B) Did Mr C know about the family of Mr A when he sold the painting? If so, he should give them all of the proceeds because he knowingly sold stolen property. If Mr C did not know about Mr A's family he should pay them a decent percentage. If Mr C made a significant profit when he sold the painting perhaps he should pay Mr A's family the original value of the painting. Situation C) Hopefully the painting was insured, and the insurance company will pay for the damaged painting. I would say that Mr C is not responsible for what Mr B did, so he should not have to pay the family of Mr A. Situation D) No. -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

I download the demo of the new Spiderweb game more or less as soon as it comes out, and I leave the demo in my downloads folder. If I register the game I add the full version to a folder with all other SW games on my hard drive. I don't usually play a game more than a couple times, so by the time a new game comes out I likely haven't played the other SW games in some time (with exception of BoX). -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

My first impression was also "An Avernum/Geneforge's bastard child", but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I hope when the game is complete that there will be enough differences between A4 and GF that it won't feel like GF. The plot has some potential; assuming that "The savages and dark creatures of the lower tunnels, once beaten into submission, have returned" will not be a literal reoccurrence of the past plagues. After all, Jeff has reused old plots for new games; Geneforge comes to mind. It's still too early for me to make many assumptions about how it will be, and it will be interesting to see more screenshots. I will defiantly play the demo, and will very likely buy the game. -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |
