Nope, sorry. Nalyd took care of that. Sorry to ruin your plans, if you had any. Now, let's focus on getting Tyran back. -------------------- May the fires of Undeath burn in your soul, and consume it. Posts: 1636 | Registered: Wednesday, January 5 2005 08:00 |

Seoth drifted in a void. He didn't even bother giving himself a form in his mind. He was entirely devoted to breaking away from Mervingorix. And it was beginning to work. Mervingorix now slept fitfully, and was beginning to tire during all hours. Mervingorix knew that he could only control his god for a short while longer. He was doing all he could in that short space of time. Seoth was in the form of a dragon. He stood with Mervingorix between his two forepaws, as per the vampire's mental orders. Part of Seoth's resistance was that he would not bother to control his own body. He was mental deadweight on Mervingorix, and it didn't tire Seoth at all. Not even Mervingorix could make him support himself. Seoth had sensed the presence of a demon nearby. As per Mervingorix's standing orders, he was to tell the vampire of anything that was potentially powerful aproaching. He knew that a demon god had escaped from it's prison, but whether or not there was an army to accompany it was unknown. He had told Mervingorix as much. The vampire was in a musty old barn outside of the main city. The demon, apparently, knew where to find them and was approaching quickly. Mervingorix hadn't bothered commanding his vampires lately, and wasn't surrounded by them, as he usually was. The demon entered the barn. It was a large one, all flaming and such, like most demons were. It's assumed form was no match for godly vision. Mervingorix knew it was a demon. After all, he could see Seoth's mind. If Seoth were a real dragon, he might have been worried. As a god, he wasn't. The demon approached Mervingorix. The vampire commanded it to stop when it got within fifteen feet or so. "My master, Geltor, has asked me to ally with you," the demon rumbled, "We wish to help you kill and destroy the god Cassius." The demon inched closer, ever so slightly. Seoth was not obliged to warn Mervingorix, though he noted it hopefully. "Why would you want to help a puny vampire, demon? You're lucky that I don't drain you of your smoky blood now. Oh, is it that you hate all gods? I have a god in my service now, fool. Your petty attempts at deceit won't fool me-" And the demon lunged. Mervingorix yelped in surprise, and Seoth felt a mental jolt and the demon's flaming sword sliced into Mervingorix. Seoth still wasn't bothering to support himself, and now the vampire wasn't, either. His draconic body began to fall. Mervingorix saw this and lunged away. He got his torso out from under Seoth before the impact. The demon was utterly crushed, and it had already begun to ooze out from the sides. Mervingorix's legs were crushed and then his torso was ripped off in the shockwave. He hit the wall and blasted through it, still alive. Seoth was freed from the vampire's control. Simply being a vampiric offspring wasn't enough to command a god: it had only reinforced Mervingorix's spell. The vampire had died when he hit the ground. Seoth got up shakily. He went through the shapeshifting equivalent of a stretch, shuffling randomly through various forms, then settled on his favorite, the black skeleton in the white hooded cloak and robe. He went to the vampire's body outside. He brought it back to life, as a sentient zombie. It was something he had been working on for a while, as God of Undeath. He ripped off the vampire's arms, suspending the it, perfectly and eternally conscious, in a floating bubble of the demon's acidic blood, and permanently electrified it. Then he filled it with the aquatic equivalent of poisonous scorpions. The zombie-vampire would last that way until the city discovered him. And for much longer after that. Seoth grimaced. "Now," he muttered, "To find James." [ Monday, April 23, 2007 13:20: Message edited by: Spokesmage of the Dead ] -------------------- May the fires of Undeath burn in your soul, and consume it. As God of Balance, Seoth can sense when major happenings take place in the pantheon. Nothing specific, just that a god of roughly Tuoni's power was deposed and replaced. Then, as God of Decceit, he can investigate. -------------------- May the fires of Undeath burn in your soul, and consume it. Posts: 1636 | Registered: Wednesday, January 5 2005 08:00 |

Cassius seems pretty evil, as does Golganoth. Tyran had better come back. We miss our dino! Seoth is also evil at the moment, though it is the result of mind control/vampirism. Nalyd seems to be doing the most with vampires, though nobody really controls them. They're free game. Yes, and calling people by the names of various food items? Crabcakes? Anyway, Nalyd would never be so openly and blatantly Bannable with his flaming. More subtle, less violating the precious CoC. Anyway, back on topic, Nalyd has several accounts at KoL, a good-as-dead one at AdventureQuest, another dead one at DragonFable, and several just strewn about the internet at various non-interesting games. Or, more likely, all of the currently playing gods and their followers could unite against the demons. It's the logical route, and it was even stated in the opening post. quote:And, Ephesos, just to be clear, was Sliros previously awake, and then went to sleep? Nalyd kind of took it for granted that he was, and if he wasn't then that's probably why Nalyd seems to be putting words in your mouth. -------------------- May the fires of Undeath burn in your soul, and consume it. Ephesos, Mervingorix could very well have been lying. By Nalyd- quote:And, Mervingorix had at least two god powers, and they were strengthened by his being Seoth's patron vampire. By Nalyd- quote:And they aren't necessarily gods that anybody is playing as. Well, not many creations are available by the end of the demo, and a minimum level in a particular Shaping skill is required for each one. Also, you will more than likely have your creations killed several times, making their leveling next to useless. -------------------- May the fires of Undeath burn in your soul, and consume it. As far as we can tell, time plays no part in Geneforge other than for bragging how fast you can finish the game. In A3, at least, you had to deliver packages and such within a certain time limit. -------------------- May the fires of Undeath burn in your soul, and consume it. Since the fight with Cassius, Seoth had retreated. Mervingorix's hold upon him was absolute and unbreakable. Oh, he strained and resisted and fought at every point, and his godly mind was not even beginning to tire. But there was no escape. He couldn't even control his own guise. Meanwhile, he had retreated inside his own mind, leaving only enough mind-power left to control speech functions. Mervingorix had long ceased talking to him directly. Now, he only used his body as a puppet. Whatever control spell he had used, he had not cast it himself. He had help from at least two other god-powers. That is, a god that is either Master of two domains in the pantheon, such as Weather and Death, or two gods, each the Master of one domain. A voice interrupted his thoughts. Yes! You are more powerful than I had anticipated! You were even able to deter Cassius. Tell me the lengths of your power. Seoth refused, pushing out at Mervingorix mentally. But a shield of orange and teal sprang up between their minds. It wrapped around Mervingorix, shielding him from any retaliation. Still haven't cooled down, eh? Very well. I shall force them from you. A burning spear of pain shot through Seoth's mind, peircing his thoughts and diving down to retrieve his knowledge of himself. Storms. . . Undeath, Deceit, and. . . Balance? Ha! There is no balance here, god. But your power is far greater than I had anticipated. You will make a most suitable bodyguard. Seoth mentally choked. He, a god, with his high ideals of Balance, reduced to a mere bodyguard! Demeaning, isn't it? You have Sliros to thank for that. Sliros? Not surprising. But Mervingorix may well be lying. He couldn't be trusted. But a conflict with Sliros was inevitable, eventually. Seoth could go to Marras, or possibly Geltor, for help relieving his vampirism. But that would mean revealing himself to yet more immortals. No, he would go to James for help, or puzzle it out himself. But that would take time, and that was one thing that Seoth could not afford. He needed to act quickly if he was to restore balance. Still thinking? You've fed, now. Seoth dimly recalled killing and feeding off of some townswoman. Now, your next task, god, is to. . . Seoth paid Mervingorix no heed. His body would take care of itself. Meanwhile, he devoted his mind to finding out how to break free. Seoth had the patience of an immortal. He could wait. Seoth awoke with a start. He looked around, at the repairs on the library already beginning to take place, and the level of flooding. It had been days, at least. He realized that he had lost control of his powers during his sleep. Storms must be raging all over Kalandha. He took another hour or so quelling them. He realized that he had slept feverishly. He would have been talking. Ah, well, they would never make sense out of anything he had said, at least not the important parts. With a start, he remembered the vampire. He hastily felt his teeth. The incisors were huge and sharp. He very nearly pricked himself. He felt Mervingorix in the back of his head, compelling him. Kill Cassius. Kill Cassius. Cassius? who was Cassius? A follower of mine, he had the audacity to betray me. Kill him. A mental picture of Cassius entered his mind. He mentally choked. A god! And the God of Suffering, at that! What? My former minion a god? This. . . No, do not kill him. PROTECT ME!!! PROTECT ME!!! Seoth clutched his head in agony. Then, slowly, against his will, he rose up. Fighting Mervingorix with every ounce of his godly mentality, he made a portal. He started to step into the portal. In a last effort at freedom, he managed to shout to James. "Mervingorix owns me!" Then he stepped through the portal. Mervingorix waited. And now, he had a god on his side.
