I'm usually reluctant to be any kind of leader.

That and trying to overtake God is a very fruitless endeavour and also a position that you could not improve.

Well, if you only want '02 and '04 is that expensive where you live, just do what you want. Like Demonslayer said, it will be quite an improvement over '98.

Then you'll see that the httpd has suddenly become httpd.conf. Edit that file and insert the needed information. In this case, you would put in:

# For PHP 5 do something like this:
LoadModule php5_module "c:/php/php5apache2.dll"
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php

# configure the path to php.ini
PHPIniDir "C:/php"
You can put that anywhere in the file.

Well, I already put that in, and it doesn't say I need to do anything else in the way of configuration. I made sure that php.exe was in the directory C:/php, and there was also a php.ini in that directory. I ran test.php, which was in the htdocs directory, in Internet Explorer under the URL http://localhost/test.php and still get that download message and no output of the phpinfo() function. I can run the file explicitly by dragging it onto the php.exe file, in which the information flashes suddenly and then exits, but that doesn't do me any good.

So.

You can get it a lot of places for under $60. Or you should. I think it was only $30 or so at WalMart.

It's only $25 at Amazon, but S&H will bring the price up considerably.

EDIT: Hmmm, sorry, that link may not work...

Well, I'd imagine any game made 4 years after the last one in the series will be significantly better. Though it doesn't actually cost that much to just get the 2004 version, which is better yet.

No, not that. Planned homocide, false claims of his demise, and schemes for placing his sacred forum on the bottom of the page.

Heh, that was certainly not the best picture of me, squinting and red-eyed and all, but whatever. I wonder if there's kind of universal assessment of hair color in accordance with a certain kind of personality.

*finally gets time to download a couple clips*

Wow, I pronounced Thuryl right. Yay!

Isn't is awful though that a 4-second .wav file is as large as a 30-second .mp3 file?

Okay, I typed those lines in, made a .php file in htdocs, and ran it with Internet Explorer under http://localhost/test.php.

But, instead of running the file, a download dialog box came up to download the file. I don't think that's what I wanted...

Yeah...

But even if it is a waste of time, that's not going to scare anyone away from the forums. It's rather impossible to leave until you have fully recovered your former sanity, which is almost impossible to recover.

Us people enjoy wasting time, especially when on the subject of text cakes.

Try a red heifer.

A young bull was mentioned quite a few times in Leviticus, and they don't have any wool.

Installing as an Apache module

You need to insert these two lines to your Apache httpd.conf configuration file to set up the PHP module for Apache 2.0: Example 6-6. PHP and Apache 2.0 as Module

# For PHP 4 do something like this:
LoadModule php4_module "c:/php/php4apache2.dll"
# Don't forget to copy the php4apache2.dll file from the sapi directory!
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php

# For PHP 5 do something like this:
LoadModule php5_module "c:/php/php5apache2.dll"
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php

# configure the path to php.ini
PHPIniDir "C:/php"

Note: Remember to substitute the c:/php/ for your actual path to PHP in the above examples. Take care to use either php4apache2.dll or php5apache2.dll in your LoadModule directive and not php4apache.dll or php5apache.dll as the latter ones are designed to run with Apache 1.3.x.

I think we're really getting to the root of the problem here. I don't really have a httpd.conf file. I have two text files in the \conf directory labeled "httpd" and "httpd.default." And if I'm supposed to insert those lines into one of those files, where?

Sorry if I'm being sluggish on catching on to this here.

Ooh, I like the tildes on the top instead of the periods. And maybe we should put periods in between the candles instead of spaces, too.

So what do you suggest, Kakakaka? :P

Or else be quiet.

RC, thanks lots for your help, but every time I try to rename by text file "test.php," it stays a text file: "test.php.txt." Does this mean I'm not configured properly?

Well, I downloaded PHP 5.0.4 and Apache2 and am slowly working on MySQL (37MB is quite a bit), but I still can't figure out at all how what I'm supposed to do next. I just want to get to where I can start learning.

Yeah, I did that once. IIRC, it's on the last island on the south part, where there's an encounter. However, I don't remember having to fly. But maybe the constant use of the Orb of Thrahni was becoming second nature.
