When I try to download blades of exile, it tells me I need a username and password. Any idea what that is?

Where are you trying to download it from?

Be careful with a word, as you would with a sword,
For it too has the power to kill.
However well placed word, unlike a well placed sword,
Can also have the power to heal.

If you're downloading from Spiderweb's FTP server, try using "anonymous" as your username and your email address as your password. There should be a preference option in your browser that does this automatically for you, but if you only use FTP occasionally you don't really need to set it.

You also may be trying to download the registered version.

Try an http mirror from the download page if Thuryl's advice doesn't work.

Also, your Internet settings may be set as which you need to be a certain person to download stuff.

If it was the registered version, I had the same problem. The email Jeff sends you, or which you recieve from SpidWeb if it isn't Jeff, states that you might need to use Internet Explorer. AOL didn't do it either.
