People have believed lawyers are a good thing since long before *NSYNC came around. —Alorael, who is willing to concede that lawyers have done some good things. *NSYNC has yet to do anything good. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Not that I would ever suggest a connection, but is it possible that the suckiness of nsync and the disappearance of RW are connected? I could understand if he had been forced to listen to a compendium (can't say greatest hits) against his will, he may still be hiding under the front porch, quivering and not trusting that the music has stopped. Edit - 400th, wish it had been more useful. *this message sponsored by the makers of little yellow ear plugs* [ Monday, July 25, 2005 13:24: Message edited by: Jumpin' Salmon ] -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

A guy actually admitting to be a Backstreet Boys’ fan??????, wow I never thought I would live to see the day. I'm not such a big fan of the Backstreet Boys either, but the Millennium Cd was pretty good (it had some good lyrics). Posts: 1035 | Registered: Friday, April 1 2005 08:00 |

quote:A connection, no, not according to current popularly accepted Whitological philosophy. But it may be a matter of one event reflecting surrounding changes. You know, like the tiny sonic booms that are measured near hospitals for the perenially sneezing. But you shouldn't take this analogy too literally though, because in this case the indication is one of change in societal tremors and alterations in the mass media consciousness. It seems like the spam at RWG is getting less interesting. Not more than a few months ago it would be only a few posts before the thread was blocked. I suggest you guys step it up. -------------------- "Like most of life's problems, this one can be solved with bending" Posts: 287 | Registered: Tuesday, August 19 2003 07:00 |

I like pop. It's in no way lesser than other genres, it's just more accessible. The image that comes with it can be very off-putting (i.e. Britney and the boy band brigade), but the music itself is often pretty darn good. I haven't actually heard very much of Mandy Moore, as she doesn't get much airplay here. However, she's a big fan of Switchfoot, so that makes her cool in my book. :) [ Monday, July 25, 2005 22:55: Message edited by: Ash Lael ] -------------------- SupaNik: Aran, you're not big enough to threaten Ash. There's no correlation between the suckiness of *NSYNC and anything else, anywhere - they just suck. I think lawyers are okay. Posts: 2242 | Registered: Saturday, April 10 2004 07:00 |

Just about any other forum you care to name, actually. —Alorael, who can't guarantee relevant rain. Quite often it will be an outpouring (and a pun!) of "stf n00b" or "lol yeah," but you do get that pouring. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

quote:Of course there's nothing at all wrong with pop. That modern pop is lousy more often than not is merely a reflection of the massively corporate modern music industry. The tunes may be good, but they're over-calculated and devoid of sincerity. There's very little room left for artistic integrity when the music is so utterly commercialized. Production is ultra-slick, backing bands are soulless and professionalized, and style and image trump over actual talent. Not that I feel that modern rock or any of the "alternative" genres are any better. And I've always despised hip-hop and its ilk. -------------------- Stughalf "Delusion arises from anger.
