Stuggie: And once you're here, you can also use your accent and ask ladies to teach you how to improve your Spanish. Ash Lael: That's just cool. I haven't done any stereotypical things from this country like riding a horse in the plain or run bulls. Even after a day in the jungle I'm whining about the heat and the hundreds of bugs. Ischi: Alorael is probably the member that changes his name the most. But it's easy to diferentiate him from his sig. and his post count. Many of the oldbies also change their names, but you can identify them usually by their sigs. I'm glad you're also a fan of The Prisoner and Farscape. The former is, I think, the best mini-series done for live TV and I think the latter is the finest, all around, SF show. (Granted Dr. Who is fantastic, but it's got its ups and downs. B5 was great, but that 5th year. . . I love classic Trek, but it also has some stinkers. I count the stinkers in Farscape with one hand, and even those are tolerable. But as fan as I of the show it's surely a biased opinion.) (One day I hope to go to Wales for the Annual Six of One Half a Dozen of the Other celebration of The Prisoner if they're still doing it. Or just to visit the hotel where the series was filmed.) Ermarian, the Avernum world, is rather extensive. One of these days you should see what some people have done with it. Over at desp. there's some awesome stuff being done with that world. Check it out! There's also Drakey's and Aran's pages with more stuff about the world. And I'm sure I've forgotten some (sorry about the oversight, my memory is bad) There are many adventures that can happen in the Ermarian world. We saw a bit of Valorim in A3, but what about the other continents? Think about all the stuff that Jeff can explore as far as the history of the world, the different Empires, kingdoms, etc (not to mention what we don't know about the present Empire) [ Thursday, March 10, 2005 18:31: Message edited by: behind stingy cactus ] -------------------- quote:Random Jack Vance Quote Manual Generator Apparatus (Cugel's Saga) Posts: 604 | Registered: Sunday, June 20 2004 07:00 |

Stuggie: Done. I lived for a while in St. Louis and Providence, so I'm ready for Chicago. You have to learn Spanish, but that's not that tough. Australians: don't know if I should apologize for my fellow countrywo(men), but from what I've seen a bunch of us are emigrating to Australia. Soon it'll be overpopulated by Venezuelans. (this warning also goes to Canadians. USians should only worry if they live in Florida. So it (they?) would make it: Snake (metal) Aries. I just picked those sites kind of randomly. There are thousands. . . Also. I posed this question to an I Ching reader on the net: "Will Jeff ever do another game that is no Avernum or Geneforge related?" And got this (there are many interpretations of Hexagram 52 and 15, you can google for them.) -------------------- quote:Random Jack Vance Quote Manual Generator Apparatus (Cugel's Saga) Posts: 604 | Registered: Sunday, June 20 2004 07:00 |

I don't know man, there're probably worse jokes in the world. What is a bad joke? Is a bad joke one that is supposed to be funny yet fails miserably, thus becoming a loser among jokes and made ridicule by other jokes? Or is a bad joke something that is said and just isn't funny? Is this be a bad joke? House. (is it a bad joke because I intended it to be a joke and it's not funny at all? or maybe someone finds it funny because it reminds them of something, unintentionally?) Is this a really bad joke? Knock, knock. Who is it? Knock. What is the worst joke in the world? Is there such a thing as the worst joke in the world? Will writing, intoning or even thinking about the worst joke in the world be akin to writing and saying the 9 billion names of god? What would happen? Just wondering. Edit: I edited the worst joke in the world. Hmmm. I'd say BoA. A3 I liked a lot (ditto for E3) but BoA has begun to see more and more scenarios and some of them have been mighty fun. The sky is the limit. Actually, the confines of the Universe are the limit. And! If then Jeff decides to do Teh Blades of Averna (because A4, 5 and 6 used new engines, etc.) then. . . dig some trenches, ignite the turrets, get your trusty clockwork, repeating bow and get ready for war like it's never been seen before. (Waylander: I agree with you. Been playing these games also since '94 and I've got to admit I'm excited about A4. No matter how much I whine.) -------------------- quote:Random Jack Vance Quote Manual Generator Apparatus (Cugel's Saga) Posts: 604 | Registered: Sunday, June 20 2004 07:00 |

I love side quests, the more the merrier I am. Also what has already been mentioned in regards to containers, etc. I also like quests that don't have a clear cut ending, but add to the mystery of the story. Maybe it will be something that the designer will refer again in a future scenario, or maybe it is something that is happening in the world, apart from the main story line, but the players don't really need (or have the time) to find out more about it because it would take them into a completely different story line. I'd love to see a zombie come out of an oven eating himself. Desperation, I suppose, can also strike zombies and turn them into cannibals. -------------------- quote:Random Jack Vance Quote Manual Generator Apparatus (Cugel's Saga) Posts: 604 | Registered: Sunday, June 20 2004 07:00 |

The usual one is: Slith primary warrior. (male) Nephil secondary warrior/thief. (female) Human priest. (male) Human wizard. (female) I tried once with only human magic users hybrids (trying to emulate the Bishop class in Wizardry) but for some reason I stopped playing soon after, so don't know how good they would be. Has anybody tried to do play something like a proto-Anama party in A1 and A2? How about playing with 4 slith wizards with the worst penalties for magic users? Is that about as pointless as it gets? Possible? -------------------- quote:Random Jack Vance Quote Manual Generator Apparatus (Cugel's Saga) Posts: 604 | Registered: Sunday, June 20 2004 07:00 |

Apologies. Got carried away what with silence being worth a thousand words and all that. On the other hand, I have a question that does have to do with the number. 666 --> Nero? I was told once that both in the Greek and Latin bibles if you add the number for each letter in Nero's name in either language you get 666. Still, it was interesting to see the increment in posts. I also would've thought that this time of year was not going to be any more post friendly that January. I guess General right now is full of spam friendly topics whose threads are wandering aimlessly (but that's more or less constant, right?). Still, it has been a while since we had a long thread, the last one being the Root of all Evil. The last number of threads have made it to a few pages at most. Dying well deserved deaths in most cases. I wonder, with the way the posts are increasing, what number would we have if we had one or two long threads going on. Cool stuff, though. This tool, does it have a link where people can check it? -------------------- quote:Random Jack Vance Quote Manual Generator Apparatus (Cugel's Saga) Posts: 604 | Registered: Sunday, June 20 2004 07:00 |
