I like A3 better so far, but that's only because the only scenario I've played for BoA so far is VoDT. BoA has the potential to be better though.

A3 or rather E3 was the Spidweb game that really hooked me. It was so epic and fun. So for sure A3. :)

Hmmm. I'd say BoA. A3 I liked a lot (ditto for E3) but BoA has begun to see more and more scenarios and some of them have been mighty fun. The sky is the limit. Actually, the confines of the Universe are the limit.

BoA is bursting with potential. Potential that hasn't yet been fully realized, but I've seen enough thus far to judge it superior to A3.

I really like BoA due to the continuing adventures and the user mods. It is the culmination of the series if you ask me.

I agree, but sometimes, beggers can't be choosey. :) Jeff's scenarios are the best by far if you ask me, although I really appriciate the user made mods. It gives me something to do while I wait for Geneforge 3.

Blades, because I've only played Avernum 3 once, and I didn't like it (didn't like Exile 3 much either, even though I bought it).

I've found that the older I get, the worse I get at RPGs. This sucks.

I agree with Dolphin. There are hardly any scenarios untill recent. I was actually thinking that Jeff Vogel might make another himself so we wouldn't be so heartbroken at lack of scenarios

Bad idea. Jeff's scenarios tend to be pretty awful once better ones come out (example: Bandit Busywork, on par with ZKR but easily the worst 'professional' scenario of its time). He's just not capable with the form.

His games are good, but his scenarios, not so much.

I think he's capable, but he just didn't put in the time with Bandit Busywork. He got no money from it, so he didn't bother to put much effort or care in.

And needless to say, if he did the same thing with BoA, it'd be even worse. He might just port Bandit Busywork. :eek:

Waffle Guy and Poot: Re your comments about the quality of the community's scenarios.

BoA is young, but in its youth it has already seen a few well done scenarios, and they keep getting better every time.

If you want to see how wrong you are about the creativity of the fine men and women in the Community, download BoE, and play some of the scenarios in it. You can check the Lyceum for more info on the BoE and BoA communities.

I think, after you've played some of these scenarios, that you may see the error of your ways. ;)
