I've often wondered if I'd get along with anyone I meet, but I can't do it for more than about two minutes at a time before I have to retreat into the recesses of my own mind. That said, I'm not violent or anything, so any incidents would be all your fault. =^.^=

Although I'm not much for small talk either and I'm not sure what you're supposed to do at a convention...

Why haven't you played Star Control 2? It's the only thing in this post that's free and it's more than worth it. Look, there's a link. Now you have no excuse.

Also, if you're into fast-paced action, most Sonic the Hedgehog games will offer that in some form. The recent Mega Man games have become so crazily difficult to complete properly with all bonuses intact that I honestly can't imagine anyone actually trying, but if you want a ridiculous challenge you could look there.

If you like both platformer action and RPG-style exploration, Metroid and Castlevania should do nicely. And if you just want a traditional RPG, umm...I've heard good things about FFXII, the Kingdom Hearts games, and Dragon Quest 8? I've never actually played them, though.

I also have an innate love of all of the Zelda games, but you probably have a good idea of them already.

And that's the console side of the story. More to come.

I might be the only one who was drawn in here because of friends. I knew Imban, TM, Thuryl, Alec, Scorpius and the rest before I seriously noticed this place, and they directed and invited me here enough times that I started to take an interest in some topics. Then I was absent for almost two years and now I'm back again because I like art and caption threads.

So a pirate walks into a bar. The bartender says "Hey, what's with that steering wheel stuck to your pants?" The pirate replies "Y'arr, it's drivin' me nuts."

Charles Darwin, Jean-Baptiste Lemarck, and Groucho Marx walk into a bar. The three men are quite surprised to see that the bartender is a chimpanzee who uses its long arms to easily reach the bottles on the higher shelves.
Darwin quickly concludes that the monkey must have been chosen for the job due to its long reach, which it inherited through genetics.
Lamarck, however, contradicts him, saying that the bartender must have taken the job and then gained long arms because it needed them to perform its duties.
Groucho looks at them both and says:
[Sorry, SimLife couldn't find a needed punchline.]

How many Robot Masters does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
One to change the bulb, and two hundred to ruin the franchise!

What costs $600 and smells like snake oil?

Artists: Castlevania, L'arc~en~ciel, Flow, Asian Kung-Fu Generation. Lots of video game music.

Also, Bohemian Rhapsody.

As you can see, most of the music I like either has no lyrics or lyrics I can't understand. I guess that way I don't get bogged down trying to parse the words.

Nikki, the poems demonstrate a good use of vocabulary. They also actually feel like a lead-in to something else. The latest one in particular feels somehow like the opening story from the early Final Fantasies, and the first one feels like it should be part of something larger, although I guess that might take away from the emphasis.

Anyway, I made a comic!

That's actually an accurate representation of the city's geography, by the way, and the thing with the cars is taken straight from the game. You can hit one and cause a massive domino effect. It's fun =^.^=

Thanks to Thuryl for grammar checking. =^.^=

Artist here. That's why it looks like I don't have a professional interest in anything - because I don't. I mean because it's something else.

It's not really a lack of interest, either. I like the appeal of breakthroughs in science, but I'm not sure I could handle the grunt work and there's something I'd rather do more. Maybe I'll pick up something as an elective. Or something. Something something.

Fufufu! I am back once again with new art offerings to bombard your sight and dazzle your senses!

But first, Dikyobia, that was a very...odd story. For some reason I enjoyed the huge and varied cast of characters, though. More when I finish.

About the poetry...I'm sorry. I just can't think of anything to say about most of it. It's like there's a wall between me and the poems. Maybe I'm doing something wrong...

Anyway! First up is this.
http://s79.photobucket.com/albums/j152/Whyte-Shadow/?action=view&current=LearningIsFun.jpg
Learning is indeed fun. It's Maria Renard, from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night/Nocturne in the Moonlight. This is an especially sketchy early scan, and it also marks the first time I've ever put my handwriting on anything I've scanned. Also, there's supposed to be a puff of smoke between sketches 3 and 4, just so you know.

Well, I thought it was funny.

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/44256628/
Meanwhile, this is an ongoing project - a character model sheet for one of my longtime characters. Whenever I finish a new one on that page I splice it in. It's a lot better than the one from earlier this year.

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/44366855/
And this is comedy gold.

And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen. Whyte Shadow's increasingly-rapid art output. Critique is more than welcome.

Fantasy Baseball in General

My fantasy baseball would have extendable laser-coated bats and every player would be able to hover along the ground like Metal Sonic for super speed. If a button on the bat were held down while hitting the ball, it would arc outwards and then return, making it possible to rack up combos.

Meanwhile, the balls would grind into the ground or walls and then explode into several smaller spheres (or just explode?) on impact, and under certain conditions pinball obstacles, speed boosts and slot reels would be added to the field to make things more interesting.

Wii vs. Playstation 3 in General

Wii. It has Metroid and Zelda and possibly some newer Castlevania games, and if I'm lucky an Armored Core-style game that uses the remote for the laserblade and lets you shoot in two directions at once. Maybe also a PS3 if they ever realize what they're doing and remember they're supposed to be making games, not blowing up.

(Incidentally, I voted for 1, 2, and 7, just because.)

You there. Minion. Lift up my arm.

Very good. Now, I've played Sonic Adventure 2: Battle (the GameCube version of SA2, basically) recently, and overall I like it despite the numerous camera issues. Now I'm considering looking into more of the recent Sonic games to see what I've been missing. The thing is, I hear lots of differing reports from people I don't know about them and people I do know generally haven't played them.

So what I need from you is a detailed analysis of whichever games you've played, including Adventure DX even though it takes 1 to 2 weeks to ship from Amazon, as well as anything you have on Phantasy Star Universe's various versions. From what I hear, it's a thing to play. Forever.

Also 8-Bit Theater.

Well, don't feel so bad, low-scorers. They don't want anyone anyway unless you can fill a very strict set of requirements, one of which is job training.

Also, 14/20 for the basic test. Wha? No idea how I pulled that off.

Visual art is pretty much the only kind I've done for years, and I don't have much of it that's both uploaded and current right now, but I'll link what I'm working on. This post will probably be edited with new links when stuff is complete. Generally, completed stuff goes in my deviantART account and incomplete stuff goes on Photobucket, which is quicker to upload to.

Link 1!
It's Aeris! From VG Cats! And it's almost done!

Link 2!
And this is Soma Cruz and the Chronomage! Soma's in his Aria of Sorrow outfit here. I'm told there are some big problems with the perspective, though, so it probably needs some major revisions.

And as for everyone else's stuff...I'll get to it! Although I have no idea what to say about poetry.

By the way, what would you have to do to eat a plantoid's brain? Since they don't have a centralized nervous processing point or anything else resembing a typical animal brain, you'd probably have to eat the whole plant...and good luck getting a Malboro down whole.

Also, Kel, you've just made me ill. Congratulations. =^.^=;
