Drew: Awesome. My name was originally a fictional character back when I had it in my head to write some sort of novel. My short-lived attempts all seemed like ripoffs of Zelda storylines, but this character stuck around. I mean, I guess it still appeared in one of my half-baked stories, but other than that, it's just the name I use everywhere. It also happens to be a Turkish city where camel wrestling apparently takes place. Pure coincidence, but imagine my surprise when playing Civilization as the Greeks and one of my new cities pops up as Ephesos. :P -------------------- TM: "I want BoA to grow. Okay, fair enough... I'm just a little sensitive to big money AL teams with monstrous DHs winning anything. I'd much rather see a small-market homegrown team like the Rockies win it for once. -------------------- TM: "I want BoA to grow. Evolve where the food ladder has rungs to be reached." This is something I've discussed a bit with Niemand, but it seems that the community's graphics are getting stretched out over a larger and larger area of webspace. The Louvre is really a wonderful idea, and it really seems like people have abandoned it as of late. I'm not saying that we can't keep graphics we've made on each of our own individual pages, but I'd just like to argue for a bit more centralization of graphical resources. We're rapidly trending away from that. Thoughts? -------------------- TM: "I want BoA to grow. Evolve where the food ladder has rungs to be reached." Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. Imaginative, for sure. And it shows a level of technical proficiency that's encouraging to see in any designer. However, the fact that it rips off an existing movie sinks it, as well as the fact that you don't really play it. I'll go rent an actual movie before I watch one in Blades, methinks. This is not what the community needs more of. 4.0 -------------------- TM: "I want BoA to grow. Evolve where the food ladder has rungs to be reached." Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. quote:FYT. It's just good sportsmanship, doesn't matter where you're from. quote:I don't see why. They worked hard to get there, they haven't been to the World Series yet, and they're an underdog from the NL. That means that I have to root for them, particularly against the Red Sox, titan of the "let's have one guy that just hits" AL, who made history when they paid 50 million dollars just to negotiate with a pitcher for a contract. -------------------- TM: "I want BoA to grow. quote:I'm from St. Louis, and I'm kind of addicted to the Cardinals. And I can honestly say that we don't boo the visiting team all that much. We certainly don't heckle them to the degree that most other cities' fans do. Granted, we make exceptions every now and then, like when one of our players gets hit by a pitch, or when the Cubs are in town and they score a run that puts them ahead. But even then, we'll stop booing as soon as play continues. Heck, we'll even grudgingly cheer for good plays made by the opposing team every now and then (usually more when we're winning than when we're not). I can remember two major examples from the last game I went to. It was the last regular-season home game of this season (tickets cost a bunch, but I got a bobblehead out of it), and we were playing the Houston Astros. Craig Biggio, who has played for the Astros forever and had an amazing career, had announced his impending retirement earlier in the season, so this was going to be his last game at Busch Stadium. He got a standing ovation in his first at-bat of the game. Then, when he came up for what looked like it'd be his last at-bat, and with the score tied at one, he got another louder, longer standing ovation, and he tipped his cap to the crowd. Granted, we were all kind of hoping he'd make an out then (he did), but it was the thought that counted. Then, same game, top of the ninth, still tied. Carlos Lee hits a two-run homer off our closer, and the crowd basically just goes silent. Minimal boos, more of an "Aw..." moment. Granted, we went on to win in the bottom of the ninth before the Houston Closer recorded a single out, but that's beside the point. Fact of the matter is, Cards fans are the best in baseball. I have more stories, but that's the best one. Thank you and good day. :P EDIT: Go Rockies!!! NL Forever! Nioca, last I remember hearing, the HoF was basically being discontinued. The last discussion about possible HoFers was brief and unresolved, and it seems to have simply fallen into disuse. I know this because I was one of the people nominated, and thus I followed it. -------------------- TM: "I want BoA to grow. Evolve where the food ladder has rungs to be reached." I'm pretty sure my first post was something bemoaning the nature of A3's plot compared to A2. Depends on when you start the day... if you start at midnight, I played Smash Bros. Melee and Wario Ware until about 3:30, went to sleep closer to 5am. Woke up at 2pm, watched an episode of South Park. Busy, busy day. :P -------------------- TM: "I want BoA to grow. Evolve where the food ladder has rungs to be reached." te_can_look_at has always been broken, as far as we can tell. It's just that as scenarios have gotten more complex, we use more terrains and the problem gets more noticeable. I think that it's just hard-coded in for some terrain slots, but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. -------------------- TM: "I want BoA to grow.
