quote:Eh... I feel like that game had so much promise, but in my mind it was an epic failure. The interface overhaul was clunky, the terraforming system was bothersome, and while space tech was cool it felt like it was around for roughly twenty turns and that was it. Range was (and still is, in my mind) difficult to work with. I guess I should give it another play sometime... hopefully it still runs in 10.4. On the other hand, I wholeheartedly agree with the rest of that post. Alpha Centauri rocked, Civ 2 was the golden age, and Civ 3 was meh (discoveries came soooo slowly). -------------------- TM: "I want BoA to grow. I don't know... maybe this is just how I've come to understand the factional style, but it really just seems like juggling a bunch of distinct characters at once. Also, perhaps I misunderstood the new one to be vaguely factional. Although it does appear to place a lot of importance on whose side characters are on, I suppose it's not really factional. -------------------- TM: "I want BoA to grow. For clarification, what I meant is that in each tile with the yellow trees, the yellow tree is at the front of the tile. A little more variability and it'll look fine... And Iffy, fall foliage and evergreens do co-exist in nature. -------------------- TM: "I want BoA to grow. Evolve where the food ladder has rungs to be reached." Okay... I don't think it'll be a good idea to start two RPs at the same time. In the past, it has failed dramatically. -------------------- TM: "I want BoA to grow. The deciduous one stands out a bit too much, but other than that the second one could look good. -------------------- TM: "I want BoA to grow. Evolve where the food ladder has rungs to be reached." Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. Posts: 4130 | Registered: Friday, March 26 2004 08:00 |

I like 'em both, as long as they're brined or marinated appropriately. -------------------- TM: "I want BoA to grow. Evolve where the food ladder has rungs to be reached." Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. Posts: 4130 | Registered: Friday, March 26 2004 08:00 |

Just so you know, I got some outdoor versions of the Joaquin Soto trees... they'd make #4 look a lot better. I vote for #1, but I'm biased. :P -------------------- TM: "I want BoA to grow. Well, assuming that we start a new thread for the continuation (and we should), I think it would be fair for each player to give a brief reminder about who they are. Other than that, I think both you guys would do fine, as long as you remember not to powergame. The key is that it's a factional RP, so you don't control just one character. However, most posts still follow a close third-person perspective. -------------------- TM: "I want BoA to grow. Evolve where the food ladder has rungs to be reached." I was thinking about that when I typed it, actually... um... then just 'this weekend'. I propose that all who wish to resurrect the Reloaded RP (again) spend a chunk of time this Thanksgiving weekend to refresh their memories with the OoC thread and the IC thread, so we can try to get it all back on track. Someone's going to have to write a refresher post/new intro since we'll be jumping ahead. And I highly advocate a brand new spiffy topic, instead of taking the huge old one. -------------------- TM: "I want BoA to grow. Evolve where the food ladder has rungs to be reached." quote:It's more the fact that it's a quest you get in the first town, and it doesn't go away until you've practically beaten the game. In fact, if I recall correctly, you basically have to do an about face on the way to the final confrontation if you want to finish it. That confuses a lot of people, because they finish the game, having forgotten about the quest, and it's still in their journal. Or they might realize it earlier in the game, but people tend to get confused when something as early as that isn't resolved. EDIT: Whoops. For priests, I typically like giving them Strong Will, so that when people start getting confused/charmed, there's someone who resists and can cure the rest. For the nephil, I think Fast on Feet + Nimble Fingers can't be beat. -------------------- TM: "I want BoA to grow. Evolve where the food ladder has rungs to be reached." Okay, well it's not quite as general as Haste & blessings, but I've always found that Slow is really underrated. And Bind Foe is insane above level 1, so get that as quickly as possible. Also, it helps to watch which traits you give your characters... some of them are really pretty useless. Or if you're finding that you just need more xp, you could try giving your characters some negative traits. -------------------- TM: "I want BoA to grow.
