I find both men and women attractive, i suppose you could call me a Bisexual, though I have no experience in either field. Slang terms themselves don't offend me, hell, i use them all the time, but not in referance to a person. Like if I stub my toe i might scream out the N word, but im not a racist, or if im seriously pissed off Ill make some comment about how that was gay. Homophobes themselves though, i loathe. Whats the big deal? Who cares if a man loves another man, or a woman loves another woman? Trying to force your views on others is the real issue I suppose, thats why i'm against organized religion, but I do happen to believe in God..Or gods, im not too sure myself. Telling someone else who they can or cannot love is just disgusting in my eyes. Gay marriage is just as "Holy" as marriage, if not moreso. You seen the divorce rates lately? Damn. The combination of my extreme tallness, and the moderate low ceiling I have in my basement causes me to regularly break lightbulbs. Especially when I feel the need to flail uncontrollably. I'm pretty sure there is a stock of lightbulbs somewhere in the house, but I usually just sit in the dark till someone else recognizes the lack of light and changes it :) Posts: 38 | Registered: Thursday, March 4 2004 08:00 |

I was in the Army for a short ammount of time, joined the Infantry and was offered the very desirable position of serving in the "Old Guard" or 3rd infantry division. I was sent home shortly after starting Boot Camp because the doctors on base disagreed with the doctors back home about a medical condition I have...Yea. Anyways, the only real advice I can offer you is know what your getting into. Talk to people, don't expect anything before getting some hard facts/experiences from people who have actually served. Recruiters only tell you half the truth. I saw a lot of new recruits wanting to go home, but those that actually knew what they were getting into had a great time, even during Boot camp. I wouldn't have left of my own will even if they had offered me a billion dollars, but i guess you have to be in -perfect- health to serve your country nowadays. Your planning on going to college right? I know for the Army at least you need a few years of that to get into the ROTC, most likely the same for the Navy. Good luck on getting the position you want, I myself would find it very frightening being stuck on a submarine. Posts: 38 | Registered: Thursday, March 4 2004 08:00 |

Supposedly it means Old Kinderhook, which is a town/city around where I live. Some political figure used it a lot, and simply came to be known as meaning Affirmative, or Fine. Suprisingly, every (Or almost every) language uses OK. Its the only word/phrase I know of that really crosses the linguistic barrier. Posts: 38 | Registered: Thursday, March 4 2004 08:00 |

Thanks, i didn't really play around with the toolbar at the top, so I didn't notice the hints. I Don't really want to change my party, i like diversity and if its not suicide to play the game with the one I already have, then i'd like to simply tweak there stats instead of give everyone spells. I must have wandered too far, i never noticed anything like goblins yet, simply been running into bandits, which are a -lot- harded in Blades of Exile than they were in Avernum 3. Also came across a bunch of Ogres already, and that was crazy for my starting out party. Posts: 38 | Registered: Thursday, March 4 2004 08:00 |

I'd have to say the Slime plague. Its most visible in its devestation on the surrounding area, and the NPC's have some great stories about previous slime invasions. I remember a scripted event or two where slimes oozed through the cracks in town's walls and the soldiers rushed out to meet them on the "Field of Battle" Of course, other plagues might be just as 'Colorful' But i never got too far into Avernum/Exile 3 without cheating. And when I cheat, i don't talk to NPC's or really explore my environment, its just a killfest. Posts: 38 | Registered: Thursday, March 4 2004 08:00 |

I attempted the first two scenarios you get with the registered version of Blades of Exile, and i can't seem to make a dent in any monsters. Of course, my parties are created the second i start the scenario so that may be the problem. I was under the impression however, that even starter parties should do well in the first scenario. Am i wandering too far, and totally missing the newbie area? Can someone point this out to me if this is the case? My party consists of 1 sword using warrior, 1 bashing using warrior, 1 polearm using warrior, a thief/archer, priest, and a mage finally. Any decent character build guides? Not sure if im spending points right either. Posts: 38 | Registered: Thursday, March 4 2004 08:00 |

Yes, thats right. Its my birthday today, turned 19. My question is, how long should I wait for delivery on my Blades of Exile disk? I couldn't download from the FTP site because my modems being funky. I ordered it on Sunday, early sunday and I still havent received it. I paid the 2$ shipping, whatever the default option was. Thanks if you can answer, or care to wish me a happy birthday Posts: 38 | Registered: Thursday, March 4 2004 08:00 |

I used to own Avernum 3 on my old and relatively crappy computer, and found it quite enjoyable. I've played the demo of Blades of Exile even longer before and found it very different. My real question is, being used to Avernum, will buying blades of Exile cause me to learn the system all over, or will it be strangely familiar, if somewhat outdated? Id prefer to buy BoE over BoA because of the multitude of Scenarios available, along with the floating idea around the boards that the BoE editor is somehow better, therefore allowing for better scenarios. Vagrant Story for the Playstation 1. Earthbound as someone already mentioned, but get it for the Snes, as youll be waiting a while for the DS version. Parasite Eve for the PS1, and possibly its sequel, though i've only ever played the first. Super Mario rpg and the Paper Mario series. Xenogears, but not Xenosaga. That enough for now? :) Posts: 38 | Registered: Thursday, March 4 2004 08:00 |

Korojutsu, im positive you mistook what Ben meant. I believe he was saying that He could always make one scenario for Blades of Exile, then the next scenario he made could be for Blades of Avernum. He said absolutely nothing about transferring scenarios between the two Posts: 38 | Registered: Thursday, March 4 2004 08:00 |

The only time I remember using the capture soul and simulacrum spell was right after I got them in A3, on that spiny worm you can find in the same Vahatni settlement. It was fun to just summon it against weak creatures if i got bored, but i never bothered to capture any strong or usefull monsters Posts: 38 | Registered: Thursday, March 4 2004 08:00 |

I hate Drizzt Fanboys (And girls) With a passion. They seem to pop up everywhere and want to mimic there imaginary hero in roleplay, or just use the name for a pseudonym. That and the fact that ive never read whatever book Drizzt stars in, Im voting for Conan. Besides, the movies kicked so much ass i can't help but watch on the rare occurances they show them on TV. I know that towns reset after you leave and visit four others...Does the same hold true for dungeons? Youd better hope so, as its the only way i can immediately see out of it :P Try visiting four other dungeons then coming back and seeing if the mirror is back in its original place Posts: 38 | Registered: Thursday, March 4 2004 08:00 |

I would think "IF" Avernum/exiles online was made, not saying it can or will be but... I just think it would have to work somewhat like follows. Everyone controls one character, not a party. They can of course join up with others, but only within a certain level restriction. A psuedo realtime system would be needed. With an autoretaliatory melee system, not unlike Tomenet if youve ever played. Wed need some macros to make spellcasting easier, along with item use. Same here, if your the only one using your computer and you have any working knowledge of a computer you shouldnt get a virus. If its also used by your family/spouse then you might want to turn it back on after your done with the comp. Posts: 38 | Registered: Thursday, March 4 2004 08:00 |

Im going into the Army very shortly and i would get cut off halfway through any decent length scenario before i leave :/ Ahh, if only it was released a month or two sooner Posts: 38 | Registered: Thursday, March 4 2004 08:00 |
