You can join Galthrax. The scenario just ends right there. :P There was some rationale behind Ithik knowing exactly what had happened in that tunnel, but I've forgotten what it was now. I think it was that at the time he wrote the note, the cave-in had not yet occurred, but by the time you speak to him in MG1, it has and he's been back to see it. Or something like that. He didn't so much ransack the DG's office as look around, notice the large piles of dust on everything, realize that the DG use the office much except as a back way into MG, and leave a note. He can't tell you that much because he's in a hurry to get out of there -- he's a lot less powerful than your party is, and the creatures around could give him a hell of a time. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Good to know. I'll take a look at the VoDT, ASR, ZKR, and DWtD scripts to see what spells are for sale there. Any other item balance issues? Recipes? Anything with the shops? It'll be interesting to see if this scenario suffers the same fate that Corp did. I rather suspect that it will, desperate for scenarios or no. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. My assumption is that you have a bad set of parentheses earlier in the script, one that never closes or something. BoA's line numbers in this regard are screwed, and all I can tell you is that it must be somewhere before the line that it's complaining about. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Only place a "break" after a dialogue node if that node has "code" in it, ie code = set_flag(1,1,1); break; As far as the other... er... you might want to check the end of the script. Sometimes line errors roll over. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls! My most successful party in A2 has always been a human duo, one fighter and one mage-priest. I've never used a nephil or an archer character in my life, though, so I wouldn't really know. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. It's already changed. In the latest version, which you can download from my site, you can use those controls successfully if you only know one level of Bahssikavan, which you can get if you backtrack and deal with the chitrachs in Northern Bahssikava. EDIT: Incidentally, I posted a somewhat long bit about what I tried to do with Bahssikava and what I've learned from the process over at the Lyceum here. Ambrosia Software also is extremely different in many other ways. It is far easier to make an EV plug-in than a BoA scenario. Ambrosia's employees actually read their boards and participate quite regularly. And any number of other differences are there, too. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Since v1.1, it has been possible to do exactly what you're asking. Just walk into the Shopping Area. When the line comes up that says, "The HLPM reads your party as level [x]" as you're walking in, that means the shops have been set up. The whole point of separating each part was so that each would function independently. You can use the Level Raiser to have a standard HLPM experience, but you can also use the Shopping Area for a between-scenarios shopping experience or the Arena for combat practice. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. quote:How would this work? Monsters that have melee skills but are put at a distance from the party, which has archers? That seems kind of silly, because it'd be exactly like ranged combat except that the monsters wouldn't be able to hit back. Oh, and yeah, I can probably work in some way to fetch the items from the other side of the chasm. What you're talking about is not what most people would call "linearity." That's why there's been some confusion. EDIT: Also, I am curious. You make precious few references to anything that happens in the Guardpost or beyond. Did you actually complete the scenario? The default Demon Golems and Ur-Basilisks are lower level than the dragons. I could make new creatures for the uppermost levels. The reason that I didn't before was that I wanted to keep the custom objects script to a minimum and stick mostly to default items and creatures. But I could. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls! Ephesos: In conclusion, yarr. Okay, fixed. And at some point in the near future I'll look into adding more items for higher levels. That's a good idea. I'm thinking about moving the Arena out to another town and making it more varied, but I think I might wait for the rewritten editor in order to do that more efficiently.
