By the way, I'm using the Greek texts available at the Perseus Classics site.

John 17:2 ends: "just as you gave to him authority over all flesh [i.e. the physical or natural order of things], so that all whom you have given to him, he will give to them perpetual life." As far as I can tell, that's a purpose clause with a future indicative, which is an odd alternative construction — it's rare in Attic prose, although I'm not sure about Koine. This construction expresses the purpose for which something was done, not the actual effect, but drawing the verb in the purpose clause out into the indicative (instead of a normal subjunctive or optative) suggests to me that the author believes that this will be the outcome also (a "vivid" construction). This is peculiar, though, and I'll ask my Greek teacher about it.

The word "aion" in Greek (with a long O, I might add) gives us "aeon" in Latin and English. The adjectival form is "aionios," which declines to "aionian" in one form.

And you know, LSJ (the big, authoritative Classical Greek dictionary) makes sure to draw a distinction between "aionios" (perpetual, lasting for an age) and "aidios" (eternal, everlasting). As far as I can tell, "aion" in Greek means much the same as it does in English: literally, it's an indeterminantly long but finite period of time, but often it suggests forever.

I didn't start reading any of this until just now, but if there is any confusion about what any parts of the Greek New Testament are literally saying, I'm happy to offer my services as a Greek translator. I'm a Classics major, after all, and the Septuagint is quite a lot easier than Plato.

As far as that chunk of John 10:38, it says: "in order that you know [at one point in time] and know [continuously] that in me is the father and I am in the father." There is no word for "union," and also, the word "in" in Greek (en) is usually pretty literal with regard to place or space, although it can mean "in one's power" also.

John 17:11 ends, "in order that they be one [thing] as we [are]." The word for "one" is in the neuter, which is a gender used for things, which indicates "one thing," and the verb "to be" is often dropped, as it is here, suggesting "are."

Point me to specific places and specific issues, and I can translate whatever you want from the original.

Ah, now I know to what you are referring. You're right; they don't bother me at all, but some people freak out about those black spots. Regardless, they're not likely to show up in future scenarios of mine, because I do towns in a completely different way now.

Again, I think we're just going to disagree about the "hastily made" part. I spent longer on Mount Galthrax than on any other three towns in the scenario, and I like the design. But again, I'm doing the towns for Exodus in a completely different way now, so there's probably no point in discussing this.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing your scenario.

This is one of those utilities that may not meet with immediate acclaim but will probably turn out to be useful in the long run. Don't get discouraged by the apparent lack of response; many designers (probably including me) will use this eventually.

I imagine that, since it's always possible to retreat and heal, you'll be able to win. I expect the first spawner in Ancient Bahssikava will be the biggest challenge, since you'll have to go through fast enough that the spawning room doesn't get out of hand.

You can pretty much dodge the spawners in the Catacombs, so that should't be a problem. Missile-users should take down the avatars. And then the N-K stuff should be easy by comparison.

He was using a PC and seemed to indicate that he couldn't.

If you could minimize GF3, you probably still will be able to. If you couldn't, you probably still won't be able to.

How come to the instant I landed at the north river bend (I mean were you first see the golems), all towns eemed to me hastily made?
I don't know. They weren't hastily made. In fact, I spent more time on the North River/Mount Galthrax section than I did on the Nolagh-Khar section.

quote:
For instance, the big gaps on the path were you fight the fire golems before you even cross the river, you can see right through the cliffs!
I don't exactly know what you're talking about. There's a hill. You can see further up the hill. There are some, er, chasms, but they're not supposed to block your view.

quote:
Also, you have these hilly pathes, for example at mountain Glathrax, after you defeated the dragon, you decend that path after going through the secret door, it looks quite bad.
Again, I don't know what you don't like about it. Personal taste, I guess. TM has complained bitterly about the appearance of LP, but I like the appearance of LP, so I think this just goes to show that there's no one right answer here.

(This is detailed mostly in the cut scene after beating Nolagh-Khar.)

During the cavequake, many tunnels closed or opened as dirt shifted. North Bahssikava was in part cut off from south Bahssikava, and south Bahssikava was opened up to the homeland, with complicated results.

The north Bahssikavans fled further north, rising through the tunnels and becoming Legare's Bahssikavans (until they were wiped out by the Empire later).

The south Bahssikavans faced the demons and either were killed and enslaved (as you find them in Bahs) or fled east through a newly-opened tunnel to the homeland — which didn't exist before the quake, which is why they didn't go before — and became (with the old Guardpost sliths) the sliths of Vasskolis.

Some of the tunnels you find in Bahs were walls before the cavequake, and some of the walls were tunnels before the cavequake.

EDIT: By the way, Thralni, Bahssikava has a double-S and an I. You have not succeeded yet in managing both of those features of the word. :P

Huh. I was under the impression that "abandonware" was defined as software that the copyright holder had released into the public domain, not as software that was no longer supported or sold and therefore frequently pirated.

A quick search proves Thuryl right and me wrong, however, which leads to an obvious question: is there a one-word term to indicate software that was once sold for money and is now in the public domain; that is, if you will, the "legal abandonware"?
