I often have my 'phone off for long periods of time too.

I also know a person who doesn't have a mobile 'phone. When people used to say "what happens if you need to get in touch with somebody in an emergency?" he'd just reply "well, everybody around me has one I can borrow if I need one badly enough." Which is the perfect argument, I guess, unless other people use the same idea...

I send them semi-regularly, usually because I don't want to have a 5 minute chat with somebody when all I want to say is the train was late.

Dude, that was totally my joke.

I always run into a bug in A4 just before Fort Draco, which makes the game completely unplayable. I like to call it the plot.

IIRC, as you fight the Drakons in the control room, they manage to get some Unbound finished and release them on you. It might depend on how long you take to do the fight, I don't know.

I know of the song. I also know what both "pomp "and "circumstance" mean. Alas, I didn't get the pun until after reading this thread, because I hadn't looked at the original thread.

Ouch. :(

I did say around 7500. You've released a BoA scenario too, so that goes in your favour. Note that not all BoX designers will be spared.

Yeah, I'm getting errors, too. I remember back in the day, when errors were unheard of, and ISE's didn't even exist.

I wasn't waiting on Nioca. If anything, the reverse is true. In order to cut out a lot of the crap Victor is going to end up telling Iocabe about the journey north, I wanted to skip ahead a day or two, RP time. I've not posted because I wanted to let everybody else have the chance to post before Victor reaches Aminro.

Now, though, I'll post the meeting of the two factions tonight, after work.

Dintiradan - for now, I'm going to let Brand stay put. I'm assuming you mentioned him in your IC that never was, so I don't want to make you re-write the thing again.

First of all, I agree with Slithy. Even if I'm playing the most hard-lined Taker, I'll always tell the Obeyer Librarian that she did well to collect the Shaper documents. That one encounter is probably one of the saddest in the series.

Yep. A lot of these 'Rebel' sympathizers like Diki reminds me of those animal rights sympathizers. Intellectual mothertruckers sitting in front of their fireplace, swilling their red wine and pondering "Hmm, perhaps Bessie the Cow can feel pain and some measure of emotion. Perhaps it is unethical to turn her into dog mince?", but when they see terrorist actions by the Animal Liberation Front on their flat screen TV, recoil and empathatically protest "Oh hell no, we weren't condoning such brutish behaviour." where behaviour = anything that involves rectifying an unjust situation with more than just a limp wristed, half-hearted verbal commentary.
I'm not quite sure what you're saying here. As I understand it, you're saying that "Rebels" think turning animals into food is a bad thing, but aren't prepared to kill people in order to let animals live. This is wrong on so many levels. Simply put, if somebody is ethically aware enough, or just aware of other life, to consider that meat may be murder, they aren't likely to support terrorist actions, are they? I mean, sure, if it's not talking then it's the bomb that'll settle our differences, but lets start with the talking, huh?

On the other hand, I support "terrorist" actions taken by Animal Rights Groups, so long as no people aren't hurt. Firebombing animal testing centres? Sure, so long as nothing is going to die as a result of it.

Back to GF, I support the rebels simply because I have issues with a being having complete and utter control over another, intelligent being. Serviles show, time after time, that they are capable of not only surviving and existing, but of living without Shaper control. Why not let them? Would you, if you ever have them, enlist your children into servitude? Tell them from birth that since you created them, they owe you absolute feality?

What is better Shapers or Rebels? in Geneforge 4: Rebellion

Ultimately, I am better. Until I come along, the Shapers and Rebels are in a stalemate. Look at the whole Shaper Monarch episode for an example. Then, I come along, and the problem gets fixed.

No matter which side I choose, I can always beat the other. The world should bow to me.

I started out supporting the Awakened - in fact I have not finished GF1 as an Obeyer. In GF2, it was Awakened or a Loyalist - I couldn't stand Zachary one bit. In GF3, I have played both, but prefer being a Rebel. Some with GF4. So I guess, overall, I sympathise with the Awakened most in the first two games, and the Rebels in the last two.

If we get the choice, I will be starting GF5 as a loyal Shaper, and then turn Rebel.

Aminro

Through the sunny haze of mid-morning, a flag could be seen fluttering on the distance, followed by a large-ish coloumn of people. The soldiers standing guard at the city's gates were prepared - the Empire was due to arrive any day. As the group grew closer, though, it was clear that there weren't nearly as many people as there should have been - the journey north must have been hard.

---

Gathin rode out in front a short way, and shielding his eyes, looked back over his people. Getting through Hunter lands had been difficult, at best, and many people had perished on the way, but over half of the population that had set off still followed him, and the Crown which fluttered in the breeze. He turned his gaze northwards, towards the spires and walls of Aminro, now clear on the horizon. Without any outwards show of emotion, he rode on towards his goal.

---

The first few people had began to reach the city limits, Gathin among them. As he dismounted from his horse, he looked around. He had never been to the city of Aminro before, and what he saw astounded him - despite the Hunter presence to the south, Sanctuary had transformed the city into a fortress. He marched to a nearby soldier, nodded, and pulled off his guantlets.

"I expect you know who I am. Now, which way to your leader?"

Yeah...

So, I have deliberately waited a few days for my next IC, since I wanted to skip the continuous "we ran into Hunters and got killed" speel I'd have to write.

I will be posting before the weekend is out though, and it will be from Aminro.

I like that very much. Walking around as a lifecrafter wasn't quite the same as being a rebellious Shaper.

Of course, everything sounds promising. I really can't wait to end the war.

I should explain, I work at a supermarket in a town reknowned for the rudeness of it's people. It's only to them that I do it, not to people I meet otherwise. (As if that makes it any better :P )

Of course, getting all the angst out of the way at the start of a potential friendship means the other person knows exactly where they stand in the scheme of things, which must be nice for them. :P
