Oh yeah.... I'm not happy until I have thoroughly looted everything not nailed down. If it wasn't meant to be liberated by me it should have been superglued to its current position. Anything unsellable will inevitably form rather large piles outside trading posts and smithy's.

The only things I stopped stealing about 4 games ago are bones and trash...

For me to loot something, it must have a value of at least forty coins. As far as plates, I've heard that Jeff actually doesn't place those junk items in the game.

Those plates may be unsellable now, but with production strictly limited to only 800 firing days, their value is poised to soar on the post-production collectors' market, where prices are only limited by market demand.

It's already happening. I just discovered and sold a Tang dynasty pot to the gal in Harston Docks. She paid me 250 meat for it, and then stabbed me. It seems that she was keeping that archaeological dig secret so that she could maximize returns over time. Something about salting the site or whatever. Anyhow, fun game. I'll be calling for that key tomorrow.

I steal everything that's not nailed down, no matter whose stuff, except their garbage. I'd even take their front door and sell it, if that were possible.

The best part is I don't steal to sell, or even to amass a huge pile like several other people here do. I steal because I'm sadistic. Most of the stuff I steal ends up staying in my inventory until I find better things, at which point all those peasants' hard earned goods are left in the dirt in the deepest, darkest pits in all of Avernum, only to be discovered by future adventurers who will be disappointed to discover that I have taken all the good stuff and left my garbage behind.

Hmm. All of those plates and no silverware?

(I guess you could say that there are knives.)

I was actually quite surprised that I took such a liking to Avernum 5 despite not really liking Avernum 4. I'd say that I'm definitely going to consider getting it when I beat the demo a few times.

There are forks, knives, and spoons in A5.

I take everything I can, even the bones and trash, because there are occasion sellable items I would overlook if I didn't.

And because Dikiyoba is obsessive-compulsive. Useless items belong in huge piles, not hidden away in chests or scattered around on the floor! :P

Edit: Curse you, Salmon! :P

Nope. Jeff has had pretty much no effect on the gaming world besides his own games, sadly. Jeff just makes great games and, alas, nobody imitates.

—Alorael, who doesn't wish Jeff any trouble with competition. He just wishes there were more good RPGs on the market.

Me too. There are almost no good, non-mmorpgs out there. And half of the ones out there don't work on mac (no vista).

I know a good free MMO that is turn based but way better than any other turn-based MMO. It is called Kingdom of Loathing and it is hilarious. the atmosphere is funny and fresh, and because of that few annoying people play it. Best of all, everyone gets the same number of adventures every day, so equal opportunity to excel or fail in your own time. try going to-

http://www.kingdomofloathing.com

Edit: were i a bot, i would a) not post on other threads with reasonable answers, and b) not answer people.

Edit: no, i am not comparing Jick to Jeff-I loves em both! hehe

...that is certainly an odd ad, considering that a significant portion of us are on it already. Meh. It shouldn't be in this thread, though.

Actually, it was a direct response to the post made by The Ratt, which was a complementary post to that of Alorael. Yeah, it didn't really need to be said, but there is a relevance. Perhaps it was a comparison (favorable) between Jick and Jeff?

Oh, we don't really own KoL. We own it. If you don't understand the distinction, well, that's probably a good thing. Enables you to sleep at night.
