Xel, those glasses really bring out your eyes! And your laugh at around 1:12 is simply adorable.

Otherwise, though, I found that clip tame, uninspired, and predictable. The last 30 seconds could've been cut off without making any difference at all - it's almost as if the director was just learning how to zoom, and the fact that the muffins were all the same, but with things pushed into them sucked. The plot made the weather report seem gripping, and the dwarf dude "Johnny", I'm guessing, won't be on any award shortlists.

EDIT: I would like it to be known, I was being sarcastic. I know Xel didn't make the clip.

Sigh.

Also, I think the title changes are because the Geneforge series are coming to a complete conclusion, and not because *i was trying to annoy one member. If *i really did want to annoy somebody, the Ego or otherwise, he could just have handed out a custom title, since no amount of posting can get rid of that.

I dislike that phrase so much. It's as common as it is because it rhymes. I think we should have "calm-down crowns" instead, and then we can all pretend to be princesses at the same time. Or princes, if you're into that.

I meant proper muffins. English muffins. Not over-sized cupcakes. :P

Party Size? in Blades of Avernum

As a designer, I'd either tell the player that the scenario won't work as intended if they play with the wrong party, but leave it up to them if they want to continue, Another option is to prevent them from playing the scenario unless they have a suitable party, using the party_size() call.

And, of course, you can always do what Frostbite does, and force the change on the player, although that only really helps if you want to force a singleton onto a player, since you can't create new PCs using calls.

As a player, I'd prefer the first option, but ultimately, the choice comes down to you, and how strongly you feel the scenario needs 3 PCs.

Also - a thought. You could always give the PC a joining NPC or two to make numbers up depending on the size of the party.

Yes and no. If you use the call "message_dialog()", you can only have two strings of 255 character each. The two strings are separated by the comma. Like this:

message_dialog("THIS IS THE FIRST STRING.","AND THIS IS THE SECOND"); If you want more than two strings, you can use more than one message_dialog. I suspect though, that this will work:

message_dialog("You enter a walled building in the middle of this large swamp.
You pass through the damaged gates and see what looks like the site of a magical disaster.",
"It looks as if something either escaped or got in the large construct in the center of the building.
A small building is near the construct. Perhaps you can find answers there.");

I'm just posting to see which title I now have. Seriously.

I think, though, that post ranks should be TM villians instead of GF roles.

Yay! It's good that this is being picked up outside of the community.

Although... this does sort of make me sad. I must've sent my scenarios off to SW 7 or 8 times, and still they aren't uploaded.

A string can be 255 characters long, I think, so anything longer will cause an error.

You'll be taking up Newspeak next. :P

See, I'm not even sure. I read it three times before posting the link, and couldn't work it out, which is very, very cool. It could be that Riibu is hoping I get killed by Nico for taking the pencil to get me out of the way, or else it could all be a misunderstanding. Or the two pencils could be different. If it is Nico's favourite pencil, well... :(

My thoughts on the first chapter? I like how the scene is set. Despite there not being too many actual descriptions, I have no trouble imagining what everything looks like. The sense of darkness and foreboding, especially in the opening dialogue almost seeps through the words, and is very cleverly crafted.

In fact, there's a level of tension that's maintained throughout, and that's no easy thing to write. I said that your writing style had developed heaps from Episode 3 to 4, and even in the short space of time from the start of Episode 4 to now, it's improved all the more. It's a testament to your talent that you can weave quite a serious, almost dangerous atmosphere through mainly dialogue. And it's even better than you can add a splash of humour (Synergy/Salmon (who else? :P )) without breaking that. I'm not going to rate it out of 5, or 10, since that's silly, and besides, this isn't CSR. But it's certainly good. I'm not sure if I've said this before, but you have a really lovely writing style.

Anyway, that done, time for the real questions. So, where's Ecksian? The old Geneforge 2 Forum? Will Nico find her pencil, and forgive me if I do actually have it? Also, furries! I shall get my mask on, and fecth my pants from storage. It's time for a new tattoo!

Yeah, I hate those people with life-changing disabilities. How dare they?! [/Do I even need to write the word?]

Also, I was untimely ripped from the womb. It worked for one crazy dude who let his missus order him around, and whilst it's your mother calling the shots and not a spouse (the very idea!), I'm guessing the principal's the same...

Yes, you heard right, another tale from the pen of Spiderweb's favourite mutant lizard!

Instead of spending time crafting works of great complexity for BoA, or living the life of a true Loather, the baseball-capped bringer of our fictional doom has decreed that it is time we all worshipped her cool, for a fifth time. If she keeps it up, and she'll have her own SW day.

Anyway. Read now, be in awe. Again.

Salmon, cram it man. I'm only seventh!

At least your new flag is better Tully. And by better, I mean "I'm glad you actually made something at least partially aesthetically pleasing".

Your medals are neat though.

The whole space thing doesn't really make much difference to me, though. I always write out my words fully, instead of abbreviating, even if it means the message spans onto two pages (which it never does anyway).
