It's kinda like smoking. Not specifically prohibited but preferrably avoided.

On topic, the peanut butter jelly time song just came on the TV and I stopped writing to go listen to it.

Now I knew the Bible wasn't completely silent on the subject... These examples are not umbrella's for cussing but they cite specifics.

Exodus 20:7 You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

Leviticus 22:32 "Do not profane my holy name. I must be acknowledged as holy by the Israelites. I am the LORD, who makes you holy"

Exodus 21:17 "Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death."

Matthew 15:4 "For God said, 'Honor your father and mother' and 'Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.'"

Matthew 5:44 "But I tell you: Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you"

Romans 12:14 "Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse."

Exodus 22:28 "Do not blaspheme God or curse the ruler of your people."

Proverbs 13:3 "He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin."

Psalm 15:1-3
1"LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary?
Who may live on your holy hill?

2 He whose walk is blameless
and who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from his heart

3 and has no slander on his tongue,
who does his neighbor no wrong
and casts no slur on his fellowman,"

Now, these passages are more about connotation then about the actual words a person uses. So it has to be taken into consideration what Alex has said about what one means when one is speaking. So saying 'ef you, go to hell' is biblically wrong but telling your wife 'You're effen beautiful' would not be. It's not the words per/se it's what you mean by them. There is also the fact that one can curse without using cuss words.

In the case of ben I would like to refer to Romans 14. If we who are Christians think cuss words in themselves are not sin, but our brother in Christ does, in order to lift him up we refrain from cussing or condemning him for his belief.

I myself choose not to cuss because I consider it obscene, offensive, and unneccessary. Not to forget the influences of my upbringing. Because they do carry such offensive connotations in my own mind, the following verses lead me to believe that it's something I shouldn't do.

Hebrews 12:14 Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

2 Peter 3:14 ... make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.

I'm not the cookie cutter product I once was and Thuryl is part of the reason. It's the same reason I find TM so endearing. Yeah, you see, at the equator it's, like, summer all year round and it rarely ever gets cold enough to freeze anything unless your on top of a high mountain. And the northern hemisphere has the opposite season as the southern hemisphere to varying degrees the further you get from the equator and of course at the poles it's, like, winter all year round and you can go months and months without ever seeing the sun. I learned me good in school 'ya know...

Why post a link to it on a forum of people you barely know? Why let us know that people who know you much better then us, have decided they don't like you?

My sympathies that your friends don't like you anymore. Kids can be cruel. What grade are you in anyway?

While I don't think JadeWolf has been gone long enough to consider it missing, Sapphire surely has noticed BSR's absence. She's been stuck in her tree in a comatose state for, like, ever! I suppose I could have introduced Ruby or Amethist in your absence... The story has progressed quite nicely in my own mind.

And if you haven't noticed already, we all lack sanity here. So you're in the right place.

I dunno... I've put my e-mail up on pleanty of forums and rarely get any spam to my mailbox. Most forums have safeguards where you don't have to show your e-mail to the general public but even when I have forgone this precaution my spam count has not gone up.

Multiple accounts can be slightly annoying, but they can also be quite fun if used right. Especially if there's a small handful of people who know you but don't spill the beans. The inside jokes made can be quite hillarious and the final reveal even more so. Of course a reveal spoils future fun so an additional account must be accured for the game to continue. And on subsequent accounts one can use what they have learned from previous reveals to be more devious. Tis' all in good humor really... ;)

There are numerous counterarguments about homosexuality being genetic. People don't fall into either being gay or not gay a lot of the time. There are people who are bisexual-- who because of social pressure will identify as being gay or not gay. This would automatically cause lots of trouble for this kind of ruling. They are not going to identify themselves. Also many people who claim to be heterosexual occasionally step outside what they are supposed to do. Kinsey uses a scale of sexual preference-- being more or less inclined toward either sex-- it varies hugely.
This is a bit along the same way as my thinking. There's a gradient between homosexual and heterosexual and most people are somewhere in the middle but they may not even realize it because of their upbringing and culture.

It is often reffered to as 'sexual preference', comparing it to other preferences, my favorite color is purple but I still like red and blue alot while I don't like yellow or brown much at all. My favorite food genre is Chinese but I really like the meat and potatoes type, too, and could live without seafood altogether. So do I have genes that pre-determine what colors I'm going to like and what food I think will taste good or is it all from circumstance, culture, and the way I was raised?

Some men have this pre-disposition towards homosexuality becuase of their enlarged social brain but a disposition isn't a final deciding factor, it just means they're more likely to be gay (like one is more likely to smoke if both of your parents do?). But what really swings them one way or the other? What gives them the preference for other males?

And are there similar studies for what's different in the female lesbian's pre-partum formation?

The Church, though, has a few examples of infertile women from the Bible to help draw that conclusion. There is only one example of a homosexual realtionship that was not explicitly frowned on and even that can be argued to be nothing of the sort.(Jonathan and David) I also would disagree that the Church states that all sexuality must possess fecundity instead all sexuality must be within marriage. I mean what happens after menopause? Or after a hysterectomy? No sex then, too? I doubt any church says anything of the sort.

Also, if being gay is soley from hormone imbalances or a psychological disposition then it has to be classified as a 'treatable disease' because both suggest something wrong with what shold be. The only way for it not to be treatable is if it is truly genetic and part of the DNA makeup one is born with. Any other underlying cause makes is treatable.

I think this would also be interesting to discuss. Is being gay a genetic thing? Supposedly if you are 'born' gay then it must be written in your genes and therefore passable to the next generation. Is there any evidence that a 'gay gene' exsists? If it does then women should have the right to at least choose if they wanted a donation from a gay or straight man. If it does not then does the 'born gay' issue even hold water?
