The Usual Suspects and Adaptation. —Alorael, who suspects that these are only his favorites because he almost never watches movies. They may represent as much as 10% of his total lifetime movie list. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Bugs in the full version apparently make completing it impossible. Your suggestion bears a strong resemblance to Hell. —Alorael, who can see it now. The hellfire melts all computers except one kind, which has an Intel processor clone that can only really run one program. You guessed which one. Tried and failed to register E1. Succesfully registered E3, BoE, Nethergate, A1, A2, A3, and BoA. —Alorael, who can proudly claim to have played the demo of every game offered by Spiderweb. Yes, that includes Homeland and GC. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

The New Testament is a rather massive revision of and addition to the Tanach. Religious conviction aside, I don't see what differentiates the Judaism-Christianity difference from Christianity-Islam. Note that many Muslim leaders have claimed that Jews and Christians are, in essence, right but not right enough. The Old and New Testaments are right, for the most part, and as far as they go, but we're missing out on the most recent and most important prophet. Whether or not you think Islam is religiously right, you can't deny that it springs from a common Abrahamic base. —Alorael, who still finds the claim that Allah is not God nonsensical. You can make a case for Islam being a diabolical perversion of the true faith and forms of worship, but Allah is God. The same God. (Incidentally, worship of Jesus and saints still seems rather strange. That whole Trinity bit makes the claims of monotheism bizarre.) Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Doesn't she survive if you don't get or activate her amulet? The ending is the same, but Erika doesn't die because she doesn't show up in the Keep at all. —Alorael, who actually believes it might be easier without Erika, although he's never tried it. Major Blessing and Avatar guarantee that you can slog your way to the control panel, and more little summoned minions only get in the way. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

By cigarettes and porn, then plant them on underage friends. Preferably where authority figures will find them. This will ensure that you are prepared to take up the skydiving suggestion. You could also try to make your own porn out of cigarettes. It's likely to be labeled erotica, though. —Alorael, who does not recommend mixing the skydiving with the cigarettes, "love" cookies, or goats. For a variety of reasons, really. Think about it before trying the booze or other substances, please. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

He has described the engine with the unambiguous word "new" and with others such as "shiny" and "nice." —Alorael, who distinctly remembers shiny. Neverwinter Nights is much closer to pen-and-paper (it's based on it quite faithfully) than Spiderweb's games. The type of game you want is "retro," which is a nice way of saying games stuck somewhere in the nostalgic mists of yesteryear. —Alorael, who thinks that's all the explanation is needed. Of course most games are like recent games and not older games. Otherwise the style wouldn't be older and remarkable for it! Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Anaximander is both highbrow and mature. Very, very mature. Maybe capital M Mature. —Alorael, who would bet that Linda and Mariann get to do minor detail work and whatever Jeff has outlined. The important stuff (and most of the unimportant stuff) is done by Jeff. He has displayed too much refusal to accept outside suggestions for him to love and trust his employees (and wife) so much more. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Linda aside, sometimes there's a backup in order processing. Worry if Jeff makes a habit of it long after a game is newly released. —Alorael, who can only say that Linda has a less than sterling reputation on these boards. She is known for questionable decisions enforced with a heavy hand. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

I'll admit that the warning was at least half grumpiness. Sorry about that. Commercial plugs belong elsewhere, though, even if they're not intended as plugs. —Alorael, who will certainly concede that the games are odd even if they're only debatably free. Why, Mr. Miller! You are the first to bring up anything but cabbage. Black Mark Cabbages are, for the record, merely cabbages. "Merely" is synonymous with "mutant, militant, and merciless" in this case, but the matter stands. You naughty man! —Alorael, who believes you may be confusing cabbages with melons and guavas. Those poor fruits have unsavory but very sweet Spiderweb histories. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Code of Conduct. This isn't your first warning for profanity. It's Alorael. The solution isn't for us to ignore the fact that you ignore my posts. The solution is for you to read my signature. And I'm 100% sure thaat what I said in my post, excluding the signature, already said what you said. —Alorael, who always puts the last sentence, few sentences, or paragraph in his signature. This information will sadly go overlooked by he who needs it, however, since he has some signature aversion even when the signature is fully part of the body of the post. Andrew: That's only heroic fantasy. Byzantine intrigue fantasy, for instance, tends to have quite different motifs. That goes back to the idea of Harry Potter tying into the more fairy tale-ish tropes. Without the dismemberment. —Alorael, who can see a little more Grimm gore in the newer books. Rowling is heading that way. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Disk space is not memory, and how much 190 MB comes out to depends on two things. One, the capacity of your computer. Two, whether your megabye is 10^6 or 2^20 bytes (a mebibyte). A small difference, to be sure, but a difference. —Alorael, who can also see connection speed as a factor. While it makes no difference while you're playing the game (unless it's an online game), 190 MB is a lot more over a 28.8k connection than over a T3 line. You could sure be sued for "Avernum" and probably "slthzerikai" and "vahnatai." Nephilim are biblical, so you get a pass on that one. Jeff wouldn't bother to sue you, but he could. —Alorael, who certainly doesn't mean to imply that underground worlds are copyrighted. If anyone gets that, it's probably Jules Verne.
