It's nonsense data used as filler. :P

I just noticed you included the IRC channel on SorceryNet in your sig. Note that I also installed a web-based cgi client on http://irc.ermarian.net that can also connect to the channel for those people who have no IRC client or have a firewall. :)

Used to be a lot more into anime and RPs and such than he is now, which is probably a good thing - he is not as young as he once was. His body sends chills down every man's spine... but they'll never have him; he's gay.

Alec, unless that was intended, I believe the last part of the sentence should read "every woman's spine". This way, it makes little sense...

White managed to track down the two (?) persons alive that were not traumatized by his WMDs fiendishly disguised as games, and now uses them as guinea p--, um, beta testers for his latest invention.

Alternatively, I'm fine with the R'lyeh option. FHTAGN!!

There is no way to prevent newbies under 200 posts from starting polls. It is possible to delete/lock polls by newbies under 200 posts, no questions asked. But that would be pointless, because useless polls already get locked anyway.

I'll do one better and make a list of all people and their avatars (or lack thereof). :)

Members are called by the name by which I remember them. The link on the name is to the first post of that person in the thread (the implicit request), by which they are apparently ordered. The link on the country is to Alec's post.

Imban - The Indian Wars
stranger - The Mexican-American War
FBM - The Quasi War
Stew Boy - The Spanish-American War
TM - World War II (Pacific)
Ephesos - Guatemala
Tyranicus - Iran
Thuryl - Canada
Salmon - China
Croikle - Venezuela
Dolphin - Congo/Kinshasa
Jeff Vogel (no request) - The Civil Rights Movement
Inthrall - Chile
MagmaDragoon - Antarctica
Kingy - The War on Drugs
Spring - World War I
Wonko - The Phillipine Insurrection
Arancaytar - World War II (Europe)
Slartucker - Cuba
Infernal - Israel (posted out of order)
Sullust - Grenada
Riibu - Finland
JadeWolf - The Iran-Iraq War
Fatman - Hawaii
[some squabbling]
Marlenny - Nicaragua
Erika - Hungary
Student of Trinity -
Dikiyoba -
[some discussion]
Demonslayer (now dXs) -
Goldenking -
[and finally we get to the assignments for the last page or more]
Lenar Labs -
Not I -
Ben -
Ash Lael -
wz. Arsenic -
Smuggler -
Order Mage -
Dintiradan -

(did this by chronologically going through the thread, listing everyone who posted - distinctly - and adding the country next to them once I got to Alec's response. If any end up with nothing next to them, I missed Alec's post or they didn't get anything yet)

The BoA Center, yes. It sucked, unfortunately.

I'll try to switch off the COPPA thing today. Funnily enough, I ended up pressing the wrong button too when registering, and then had to use the root account to activate my posting account manually.

Edit: I can find no option in the admin panel to switch off coppa registration. Instead, I have messed with the files to remove the "under 13" option and change the other one to "I agree".

They marry, and a few months later she is dead and he is convicted for her murder. Another reason to be careful online. :(

Broadband internet: 30$ (might be more, but then you are likely to have it already).
Skype: zilch.
SkypeOut credit via PayPal: 11$ (for 10$ worth of credit)
Talking internationally at 2c per minute: Priceless. :P

If it's a scenario you want to have hosted, I'm working on this dynamic, database-driven website for scenarios, scenario reviews and custom graphics that users can upload on their own. Tentatively titled "The Blades Forge". On one hand, it's not quite done yet, but on the other, neither is your scenario, so that equals out. :) I might have some screenshots here.

See, the system works by saving a new table every month. These tables are called endeavor200604 and so on. At the same time, the current data is in endeavor_cur - this table is updated, and then it is copied to a new table named endeavor200604.

Unfortunately, the program has a hard time deciding if right now it should compare the table endeavor_cur with endeavor200604, or with endeavor200603. Since I still suck at programming, it currently wants to compare endeavor_cur with endeavor200604. These tables are identical, which causes divisions by zero and other nasty things.

I'll try to fix that.

Meanwhile, the surest way to get the correct rankings is to select "2006-04" on the pull-down menu, instead of "Current". This link leads directly to that page.

I didn't believe MM would actually send that thing. It's hilarious, yes, but really, think how stupid you look doing it. You're, like, the Jack Chick of computer RPGs now. :P

I fault Jeff for several things, but I can see no better way to respond to such a blatant email trolling than he did.

Micael, if it's RPs you want, there is a perfectly functional (if a bit dusty) RP corner over at Polaris, which is still haunted by some of the greatest players Spiderweb has seen. :P

Not much more than any of the other satellites did at the time. 2003 was a great year for roleplays. TCoA was not an RP board, but like any good SW forum then it had a section dedicated to RPing.

Like most satellites, it also died. Unlike most, it outlasted the summer - I think it died late in 2003 or early in 2004 even.

I wasn't implying that you are particularly unreliable. Sorry if it sounded that way. (Many of the examples I am thinking of aren't from this community anyway and some involved very respected people.)

No, I wasn't implying I was offended or anything. I just realized that I'd been setting myself up for a lot of important stuff in this place, and that it'd be hell if I suddenly vanished without warning. So I wanted to reassure.

Just for information, if you're trying to contact TGM again, he's still banned from Spiderweb. He's active on Polaris these days; I figure he's on Desp as well, but I don't think I saw him as much there recently. ;)

It's the Join statement used for the ranking. I displayed it for debugging, and never bothered to take it off again - it's not really especially secret though, so it doesn't do any harm.

Oh, and Scorpius just asked me why the heck I still post here, since Spiderweb's games "suck" and you all are "retarded" (which apparently doesn't include me, or he wouldn't be asking).

From Scorpius, this is great praise. I am flattered.

That's binary thinking. There is still a great gap between using the money for your education and giving away most of the rest, and using the money for education and buying yourself a yacht and an SUV with the rest.

Keeping in mind that your education is unlikely to cost more than 200,000 in total even if you went to one of the most prestigious colleges in the world, said "rest" would be a great lot.

Uh, that's not what I said. I said I agree with my test result, which is neutral both ways, and don't think I am a radical anarcho-communist.

The Political Compass puts me in the lower left corner (reserved for anarcho-communists), but what the PC defines as "neutral" is heavily skewed towards the right. Just see where you end up - even the hardliners on this board usually only end up center-right.
