EDIT: Looking over the chat, there's lots of hostility to Jeff's games. I'll post it, but I want to make sure that I won't get banned for doing so.

By google searching my name, I found a chat, and I posted a link to it. It's on Tyranicus' chat site, and it's called "Ash is Banned.", but he has no link to it. I'm wondering if he has more chats that aren't linked to on his site.

However, there's lots of flaming towards Jeff's games, and I want it cleared that posting to a place with Jeff-flaming on Spiderweb isn't grounds for banning before linking there.

I was in this chat myself, but I left before the big Jeff-bashing part. Tyranicus, if you have any other unlinked chats, let me know.

Tyranicus, you nincompoop. I told you that not linking to something wouldn't guarantee it didn't get on google. I suggest you take down all those non-public chats, as you ought to have long ago...

If someone could delete this topic or something, that's fine with me, becaus I really don't want anyone to get banned as a result of posting this topic...

One can search for all indexed pages on shadowvale.net with Google.

What about that chat? It was certainly heated, yes, and a lot of people said things they might not want repeated later on. But why would links to this material be banned from the forum?

Much as I disagreed with Jeff over the affair, there is still a difference between linking to something somebody once said about Jeff and quoting Jeff out of context whenever you write a post.

Well, now that it's publically available, I also want it noted that the chat contains a few spoilers for my new scenario, The Final Spire. Most of the stuff there has ben cut/changed, but there are still a few.

For the record, that chat is visible from Google because it was linked in the database for a long time before I took it down due to its inflammatory nature. Of course, Google can find it. It found it when I still had link on the database. All unlinked chats that have never been linked are safe.

I have changed the name of that chat. It is to be made available by request only (PMs, not on the boards please). My policy for unlinked chats is that unless you were a participant in said chat, the log is off-limits. The unlinked chats are unlinked for a reason. :P

Edit: There are about 20 or so chats that do not show up on the Google search that Aran linked. That is because these chats have never been linked. Therefore, I was right when I said that the private chats will remain so.

Also, I remember linking that chat from these boards a while back, so Google could very well have indexed it via that. It does not matter now though, as the log has been renamed.

One of the participants gave it to Tyran. Since it includes a part where only you and Ash were online, I am guessing Ash sent it.

Yup.

What's with keeping these things hidden, anyway? Shout them from the rooftops, that's what I say.

This isn't directly on-topic, but it is chat related.
I saw part of a certain letter that Jeff apparently wrote as a retort to our discussion on the Cordelia duality in Tyrannicus' signature. Where can I find this letter?

MM has it somewhere, but I see nothing wrong with posting it here. There is nothing objectionable in it. I just have to go over the logs to find it.

Edit: MM's email to Jeff:
Sir, I have a problem. It has to do with your first daughter, Cordelia, and a character in your game Avernum 4. This character I speak of has the same name as your daughter. Now I have noticed that the Cordelia in Avernumb 4 has obviously erect nipples, and tattered clothing. There's also a cut along the side of her dress that obviously reveals she is not wearing undergarments of any kind. This, my friend, implies that this woman is one of loose morals and has sexual relations with more than just one partner. Now Mr. Vogel, I would sincerely hope you have enough pride in your first-born, that you would not portray her as an aroused sex junky in your games. Maybe I was wrong. Obviously sir, you should be thankful that not all of your loyal gamers are aware of this fact as am I. I'm here to tell you that you're a disgusting and appalling man and you should take more pride in children. Thank you for your time.

Jeff's reply:
I can understand the confusion. That Cordelia in the game is meant to be a fictional character, a construction of electrons, that does not, in fact, exist in reality. That character was named Cordelia because, well, I like the name. It is not meant to be, in any way shape or form, my daughter.

Along those lines, my daughter Cordelia does not have magical powers, and she is not an adventurer in any underground kingdom.

My newest daughter's name is Miranda. Should I someday write a work of fiction with a character named Miranda, that does not mean that that Miranda is supposed to represent my daughter. Should I place a dragon named Miranda in one of my games, this does not mean that I think my daughter is a lizard.

I hope this clears up any confusion.

For those who want to know what Cordelia looks like, here is her picture:

This is funny, because there's a joinable NPC in A3 in Calloc named Miranda, so he already has written a game with a character named Miranda.

I don't remember if she's sluttish, however.

I didn't believe MM would actually send that thing. It's hilarious, yes, but really, think how stupid you look doing it. You're, like, the Jack Chick of computer RPGs now. :P

I fault Jeff for several things, but I can see no better way to respond to such a blatant email trolling than he did.

I applaud MM for taking that extra step and discovering exactly how stupid he looked. I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest that he doesn't look stupid at all (shame shame) and furthermore agree that he may have instead made Jeff appear a tad bit foolish through his reply.

There certainly are people in the world that would notice the drawing and draw the parallel and write the letter. MM doesn't strike me as one that is easily offended in that way, but I guess Jeff has to cover his bases.

Hey Jeff, re your response... ROFLMAO

Looking closely, the nipples don't seem to be erect.

EDIT: There is a bit of tit, but not much. I don't see the issue.
